What did he say at the presser, in a nutshell?

[Asked what style of play he would bring] - "A wild one. I believe in a playing philosophy that is very emotional. My teams must play full throttle & take it to the limit every single game."

"You have to bring them (your opponents) to your level and if you do that you can kill every team."

“I’ve been given this opportunity to try to help in a situation that is not so difficult as all the people in this room feel.”

“All the people tell me so much about the British press so it is up to you (the media) to show me they are all liars.”

“We can wait for it but I don’t want to say we can wait 20 years. If we sit here in four years I think we’ll have won one title – I’m pretty sure.”

United bound surely?

The Klopp ass kissing from some in here is embarrassing.

Get over it.

He'll never manage United now and there are plenty of better managers. What Klopp did was impressive but by no means 'world class'. Come back when he's one won a treble or 5 leagues.

...and to the asshat saying he's better than SAF a few pages back, get a fecking grip.

In fact, all of you get a fecking grip. He's not the messiah of management and your constant fawning over him is vomit worthy.

Just out of interest. Come 2017, who would you consider better who might be available? Personally I think Klopp has shown that he knows how to play the brand of football we would like to see; more direct, more attacking, more instinctive. I think he'll do well at Liverpool once he improves their defence and maybe throw in a midfield general. Brendan had them playing superb football 2 seasons ago and messed it up with his subsequent transfers.

What did he say at the presser, in a nutshell?

Emotional
Exciting
History is Good but...
We Win League in 4 Years
Not in Germany Now
You Press can tell Lies I am Told
Will be Intelligent Discussion of Transfer Targets
I am the Normal One & Like a Laugh & Joke Around with the Players
Skrtel Defending on the Halfway Line, I Tell Him This On Monday

more or less

Well, his voice was a bit muffled, so it was hard to know exactly what he said ... but that's only to be expected from someone inside a nutshell.

He did not tell that the EPL is the best league in the world...

It saddens me to say it but if he gets LFC playing 70-80% of that 2012 BVB team LFC fans are in for a treat..
While that´s happening we will be stuck with that fall flat on your face football from sleeping that LVG has perfected...

So how long before he turns into a bitter and delusional knob who spouts ridiculous nonsense about history, five times and YAWN? Yeah it's Klopp and he's always been seen as a classy guy but there's definitely something in the water there that turns every manager into an idiot eventually.

How long? By all accounts he was a bitter delusional, knob even for Dortmund but got swept under the carpet due to them being the underdogs to Bayern.

Is the Liverpool manager more popular on here than the United manager?

That must be a first for many years.

That's sensational, but the quality of that team was higher than what we currently have at Liverpool, and it was their fifth year playing under Klopp, so realistically speaking, one shouldn't expect this kind of football from us in the near future.

Did he leave Dortmund in 2012? This is like the Pedro disaster with YouTube videos from 2011 shown as eveidence why we should sign him going into 2016.
Klopp couldn't get Dortmund themselves playing 70-80% of that so why should he be able to transform Liverpool?

Somehow wasn't a problem that the last time van Gaal's team played attractive football was probably 10 years back yet Klopp has one average season after 3 terrific ones and he has to prove himself all over again. Revisionism here is great, if he were joining United there'd be no doubt at all that we're getting a top, top manager.

The argument about LVG is that he's a believer in giving youth a chance and sets the foundations for a club to accept a brand of football that is the cornerstone the respective clubs build their success on.
That can only be judged over time, even then it was during the last WC that got people excited about him and that was hardly a decade ago.
In some alternate reality there's a Dortmund fan posting videos of Liverpool 2014 and praying that Rodgers brings that to their club.

He's the best manager which the dippers could realistically get and he will bring a lot of new followers because of his high profile. Also some players that would never consider Liverpool before might do it now because of him.

He's a very good appointment.

You see guys, this is how we should react, from a position of strength and confidence in our own abilities. Instead, there's way too much melting down going on here. If I was a scouser I'd bathe in this thread all day.

So please fellas, get a grip.

Jesus some of you have gone soft
He's manager of Liverpool ffs.

I don't want to enter a debate about this as I am currently struggling with a hangover and it's getting the better of me

This is what has pissed me off with LVG. I was so excited to have him at our club expecting his famous 4-3-3 attacking football which he used most his whole career and although he's got CL last season and is getting steady results all in all, the football is boring as feck! I really am gutted how boring our style of football is and didn't think for one moment Van Gaal would play like this with us for so long.

Maybe the pressure is too much so it's all about results and that's it.

Klopp is a great appointment for the scouse

What does he mean by the bolded part?

I expect a vast improvement with him in charge. Liverpool don't have a great squad but they have some very good players. Very good appointment, all my scouse supporting mates are over the moon plus he plays attractive football so that's a bonus.

Think the challenge for 4th will be between LvG and Klopp.

Good to finally have him here, just not for that shower unfortunately. One thing he seems wary of is the press, and the intrusion might wear him down somewhat. Think he is in for one hell of an anti climax at the modern apathy Anfield, coming from Dortmund regarding passionate fans and stadium. They couldn't even muster an atmosphere for their famous European nights anymore

id be quite happy for Klopp to bump Mourinho out of top 4. At least they should be better to watch and it would be fun to see the bitter one implode

“All the people tell me so much about the British press so it is up to you (the media) to show me they are all liars.”

Funny line. Although I bet the room of journalists went overboard and literally pissed themselves with laughter.

If he's as good as the world thinks, they've obviously done bloody well. They have anyway just by appointing someone so high profile, genuinely thought it beyond them right now. Still, the fug of mediocrity's hung around 'pool a long time, he'll have to do a lot to change that.

What does he mean by the bolded part?

I think he means that this team doesn't need that much improvement to really go places. Basically, that he has the material and resources to accomplish things that most in the room might not think is that likely.

What the feck is the matter with people with all this United bound shite . I don`t care who he is we should never have an ex liverpool manager here ffs . I hope he fails miserably .

Hard not to be absolutely thrilled with this :D

He's such a hero.
