Klopp Confirmed Liverpool Manager

Not a single word about him being worried. Quality journalism strikes again.
“He’s got a strong personality, very stubborn, very strong, determined. His career at Dortmund was a stellar rise to the top and I think he’ll do very well. I don’t want to say that with it being Liverpool; I’m worried about it!
Isn't that a quote ?

5th, Gladbach dominated the league in the 2nd half, Wolfsburg, Bayern and Leverkusen followed with good records. Dortmund did well to recover, but still nowhere near as great as in previous seasons.

And the last part of his post tells me that he doesn't really believe what he's saying ;).
I'm just regurgitating what one of the Dortmund lads said on here. You'd hope they know what they are talking about !

Klopp has a way with words and is a charasmatic guy. He seems humble. Lets just hoping he doesn't bring them any success.

I'm kind of envious.

You're going to have to explain that one.
This thread is full of comments on Klopp calling himself 'The Normal one'. And that pic is obviously PS'd - there is no way that merchandise could be in the club shop less than 24 hrs after he made the comment :D

Tbh I would like to see KLOPP lift the Europa league this season and I think they have a good chance of doing so.

The word embarrassing gets thrown around a lot on the caf by posters frequently embarrassed by seemingly anything United do or not do but never has the word been more apt on the forum as it is for this thread.

Fun (historic) article for those who can read german:

Found this gem recently by accident. Its a piece written when BVB hired Klopp and has the general gist of "ye well, they could really have gotten themselves a decent manager, but it seems they resigned thmeselves to remaining an insignificant mid-table team with no ambition"

"Spielen um Platz 10?

Mit der Verpflichtung von Jürgen Klopp als neuem Trainer bekennt sich Borussia Dortmund dazu, auch in der kommenden Saison eher im Mittelfeld als ganz oben in der Liga mitzuspielen."

You are all worrying too too much.
Cast your minds back. To another continenetal manager who arrived fresh from success and praise and laden with trophies he had won at a medium-to large sized club against the odds. Remember how he was lauded as smooth and cool and sure to succeed and take this fallen giant back to the very top of the English game for years to come. And remember how the press fell in love with him almost immediately and everyone jumped on the bandwagon assuming and even hoping that this manager at this fallen great club was going to reorder the table at the summit of the Premier league. And remember how badly he failed. Then please tell me who he is because I'm hoping that happened once before.

Brilliant! Basically it says that Dortmund could have / should have found themselves a much better manager than this quy. That Klopp is probably only talk but no substance. :)

Are you coming across his posts for the 1st time? He's the guy that wishes Pool had won the title the 13/14 season as Gerrard deserved it.

To be fair, they had an immense injury crisis all the way through the first half of the season. But the issue with Klopp is his signings, I haven't been impressed with his signings for a while at Dortmund.

:lol::lol::lol:

That's hilarious, especially the claim that he's a populist. He who didn't care at all for Dortmund's fans' favorite players at that time and sold them more quickly than we could moan about it!

That's a bit harsh. It's mainly Immobile who stands out as an expensive flop and a few of his signings who failed to perform in his last season at Dortmund but look excellent now.

For the 14/15 season: Immobile, Kampl, Ramos, Ginter, Kagawa, Sahin
Immobile was a flop, Kampl was sold on after 6months with a 1m loss, not that big of deal. Ramos is a decent back-up striker, Ginter & Kagawa look great signings at the moment and signing Sahin on the cheap after he looked excellent during the loan from Real is still a good deal.

For 13/14: Mhkitaryan, Aubameyang, Sokratis and Jojic
The first 3 look fantastic right now and are key players. Jojic was bought for 2m and sold for 3m.

For 12/13: Reus, Schieber, Bittencourt
Schieber was underwhelming, no doubt. But he was cheap. Bittencourt went for about the same money he cost. And Reus was of course a brilliant signing for 17m Euro.

Going further back, it gets better and better. It all looked rather underwhelming last season, when the whole team sucked. Mhkitaryan looked like an expensive flop, Ginter was useless, Kampl a waste of space and Immobile a disaster. But right now, is it really that bad? Immobile was that one big mistake, but the whole team right now is full of his signings. Mhkitaryan, Aubameyang, Sokratis, Ginter, Kagawa and Sahin are 6 players you could call regular starters if fit and all were signed in Klopp's last two seasons.

Gotta give credit to the bin dippers, they've really got a manager who is perfect for them. A proven winner who works well on a budget and with a great eye for talent. I think his CL final starting XI cost some where between £30-35 million.

If they start playing that beautiful Dortmund football and we're stuck with no risk passing shite i'm gonna be pissed.

For those speaking or reading German and interested:

This is a game changer. It will take about three years but Liverpool are about to resurface.

I'm not usually one to get swept away by the hype, but this time I think I might have been caught up in it all, because I genuinely think Klopp will lead us back to title challengers within a few years.

Laugh away :wenger:

...as opposed to their last manager, who was also perfectly suited to them: a won-nothing egomaniac who blew zillions on rubbish.

Envy is forbidden in Islam. Embrace the love in. :)

Most likeable Manager in the game joins Liverpool FC & someone I could have easily seen take over from LvG.

Couldn't have joined a worse club, IMO. Too much arse-licking from the German press already & all Dortmund supporters have now started to have sympathy for Liverpool.

Why is he is so likable. He is a turd as far as I a can see. Likable people don't abuse their status like this He is a character alright but so is Charles Manson.

He went mental, he knew he needed a break. There is a thin line between genius and insanity. He was on the border about to crossover. I will love to see him and Mourinho go full retard!

God I've always hated that Jurgen Klopp! Never ever once thought it would be nice to have him managing United. Definitely never thought that. What a boring bastard he is, and a horrible man to boot! Always hated him!

I'll tell you what worries me more than you guys having Klopp, and that is that your owners have got him to make the club more desirable to a super rich buyer.

As things stand very little changes short & long term under the current set up.

he mentioned in his press conference how you cant have a crowd cheering you on when you are playing side to side possession all the time. Must admit, that hit landed

I don't think the days when we start paying 180-200k+ are far way. The Boston Red Sox (also FSG owned) paid that to 3 of their players last season (top being 250k) so it's not that FSG are against those sort of figures in principal. We may have to wait for the ground improvements to finish first though (supposedly next June).

As soon as you guys are ready to pay £200 k per week all the other top clubs will be be paying £300 k, until you are getting CL season in season out then you'll be forever playing catch up on wages.

Maybe Anfield Road needs more female fans to improve the atmosphere. They wouldn´t need 80 minutes to figure out that the guys in the red jerseys are the Reds.

Btw that guy is probably going to lose his virginity thanks to a look-a-like-bang. Klopp is a miracle worker.:nervous:
