Klopp Confirmed Liverpool Manager

That will be the biggest problem for him imo. They will expect him to win the league within two seasons or so which I'm pretty sure won't happen.
No one expects that from him.

I think they'll be happy with top 4 regularly. They haven't had that for a while.

I really don't get the hype around Klopp. Yes, he's been a relative success in German football but can he transfer that to England? He could nose-dive just as easily as succeed.

No one expects that from him.

No? Why did you fire Rodgers then? He was doing as could be expected with the current squad and having to sell his best player almost every other season. Even finishing in the top 4 will be a lot to ask from your side atm. If you just expect him to finish in the Europa League places why not keep Rodgers?

Mate text me two messages he had from his LFC supporting family member:

"if we get Klopp we will be a instant force again, no doubt about that"

"you can say what you want, but i would not swap our manager with any other on earth"

Mental

Isnt it obvious? Klopp is a far better manager!

Feel kinda crap I want to see a man I hoped we'd get after Moyes was binned fail. United way.

Good shot at the top four now for them, interested to see how he gets on. Bit of a shame we have to hate him now (as everyone has said), but such is the way of things.

Franz Beckenbaur: "He's rubbish, and he's got a funny surname. Also, I can't spell my own name."

Hodgson at liverpool on the caf all over.

No he wasn't. You can't have seen us play if you think that.

People keep posting that he will make them a top 4 side again, but in place of which team?

Chelsea look out of sorts, Arsenal are inconsistent and so are United. Not saying Liverpool will make the top 4, but there's a chance.

Pretty sick about this as I like Klopp.

There are questions about his approach, how he'll adapt to the PL and whether it needs to change after last season's debacle at Dortmund, and it's also worth considering how important Zorc and Watzke were to the Dortmund success story, but, in the short term at least, getting him is a coup for Liverpool, and they're lucky he's let his heart overrule his head, as he's a better manager than they had any right to expect to get at this point.

Chelsea dug themselves in a big hole. Top 4 for Liverpool is a reasonable expectation.

I suppose it depends on your definition of reasonable. But since the difference between German and English football (especially in terms of tactics) seems to be quite vast I wouldn't expect immediate fireworks. On the other hand Klopp seems to be a first class motivator so maybe he can use that to compensate, but you can hardly plan with that.

Still think this is all a bit harsh on Rodgers, Liverpool are the 5th highest earners in England, in an awful location, and won't pay top wages, yet he is still expected to deliver CL every season? It's madness, sure they'll do it occasionally when a richer club has a dip, or they have a top player, but long term they have no chance.

Klopp will do a good job there is no doubt at all, but I'd put a lot of money on him not getting close to the 2 nd place Rodgers delivered.

LFC press conference tomorrow at 10am.

He is on a flight from Dortmund - you can track on flight radar......:)

agree. with how we and Chelsea especially are doing, its not inconceivable they finish above both.

Even a scouse jesus cannot blend that shit of a squad into a strawberry smoothie in one season. He'd need heavy recruitment money and qualify for champions league spots before he makes any meaningful progress with the club.

Good for them and him. No matter how it turns out, it won't be boring. Looking forward to seeing what he tries to implement while he's there.

If I knew how to create a new thread with a poll I'd ask Caf users which position Liverpool will take by the end of this season with Klopp at the helm. Would be fun to compare those predictions against reality next summer.
