Keylor Navas

What do you think of Keylor Navas as David De Gea's replacement?

He's garbage in the air and can't catch a cross, he's suited to La Liga not the PL, it's like we haven't noticed Germany are breeding ideally suited keepers at a scary rate right now, it's so fecking annoying seeing us linked with stupid keepers in this mold.

Let them scramble around to find him a club at the last minute, we'd be doing them a favour by taking him. Doesn't even sounds like he wants to come.

Do not want, would LVG patch things up with Valdes and play him before getting Bernd Leno next summer.

He is a bit of a showboat isn't he? Great reflexes, but can't hold on to the ball and often give rebounds. Not complete enough for me.

He doesn't want to come and i don't blame him.

Wouldn't mind him as our first choice at all.

We'll end up paying more for him than what Real are paying for De Gea.

So looks like De Gea will leave and Navas will be transferring to United.

Okay, someone who watches Spanish football more than I do can answer this for me:

How physically strong is he? A lot was made about DDG's weakness in aerial challenges, especially during his first year. If we sign this guy, can he bed in straight away?

I don't know much about this guy.

Hypothetically speaking, do people reckon he'd have been able to save Swansea's second goal? We're obviously not going to replace De Gea with somebody as good, but it would be nice to have someone half-way competent.

I say this with full appreciation of what I am saying and without trying to be flippant or facetious...

... I could have saved Swansea's second goal.

Not really sure how much I want someone who from the sounds of it is desperate to not come

He'll need to work as hard as De Gea did in 2011/12 to get used to English football. Expect him to punch more than catch.

Navas' strengths are agility, reactions, and shot stopping. Navas saves that second Swansea goal. Easy.

I could have saved that Swansea goal. Heck, the majority of obese people could have said that goal. If Romero didn't move, he'd have saved it.

He's far better then Romero, but he's clearly a level below De Gea, and he's already 28...

Basically, I'd have hoped that we were going for a young(ish) keeper who is already very good that can go onto become great... obviously that's just me though.

Cheers, he is another I have not seen that much of , was not expecting him to be in the same class has DDG.

Cillessen will come if Navas doesn't want to leave. Who would you prefer out of those two?

Lloris>Navas>Leno>Cillissen

If we're talking about their current ability.

So could my 69-year old mother who had knee replacement surgery earlier this year.

I think Leno is as good as Navas and has more potential of course. Lloris is the best, but imo not that much better than the others, would prefer Leno out of those 4. Cilessen is the worst and Romero level imo.
