Music Kendrick Lamar

I've loved the three tracks he's released thus far anyway, although i took a while to win me over. Still need a studio version of the untitled track, haven't stopped listening to the live version. This new track though, it's a monster.

Kendrick is on a different level to every single rapper in the game. Not a doubt in my mind he'll go down as one of the greatest of all time, he's that good. Just unstoppable right now, nobody even comes close.

Agreed on I, didn't like it at first but has really grown on me.

I like how all 3 are different in terms of beat and feel, but lyrically each is as good, if not better, than the last.

Read on twitter some actress has the album and she was allowed to choose the next single, she chose this. If true, a release date can't be far off

We were told it'd definitely be the first half of the year anyway, I know Top Dawg tend to be bad with releasing material on time, but I've no doubt we'll see Kendrick's album drop sometime soon.

I really can't stop listening to that track. Of the four we've heard so far, I think i is probably the worst and I don't even mean that as an insult.

Yeah, this one:

There was a lot of talk that it was gonna be on the album, but maybe that was never the case. I don't really keep my ear to the ground, so I'm probably wrong about the whole thing.

There are no lyrics to it, but that beat could demolish brick houses.

That song sounds amazing, the little we've heard of it anyway. Dunno where it would fit on the new album though, the three tracks we have heard have held a similar theme. There's also this track, which apparently has lyrics with similar sentiment to i, the untitled song, and Blacker The Berry:

"i" is about people needing to love themselves in Compton. "Blacker The Berry" is about black people sabotaging their own communities. Pyrex might be about the crack epidemic and how it blighted black America.

I know, I'm clutching at straws here. But I really want to hear a proper version of that song!

We all do.

Surprised he's going for an album name that's already been used, especially by another mainstream hip hop artist.
Yeah, think there's been a misunderstanding and the tweet I posted earlier regarding the album title isn't true. Looks like the album name and cover haven't been released.

Also Sounwave (Kendrick's main producer), tweeted 'Track 11...Andre's back' and then deleted it a few days ago so I'm presuming it's either a Dr.Dre beat or Andre 3000 feature, either way it's fecking lit.

How good is he? Not really been into hip hop in a while, meaning I've not been listening to anyone new. Just the classic hip hop albums.

I've got his earlier albums on download because of this thread. Is he that good?

When I say he I mean Kendrick Lamar.

Listen to the albums and make your own mind up I guess.

We need a leak watch thread. Jjaayyssuuss it's gonna be a long wait.

Also, anyone notice 'i' doesn't appear to be on the tracklist? Unless the song length has changed, but 'Blacker the Berry' is revealed on iTunes.

Got a feeling he might fuse it with another track or something. I got everyone on any leaks, when it happens I will send the bat signal up.

Yeah was thinking that, maybe there's an interlude before or after the track. Anyway I can't wait, released the same day as Bronson's album too, that coupled with a Kanye album sometime this year and we're blessed. Due a good hip-hop year.

The best in the game right now by a distance and will likely go down as one of the greatest of all time.

Yeah, he's that good.

Feel sorry for Jay Rock, must have been about 5 years since his last album FFS.

I love how every little bit of Kendrick Lamar news elicits so many responses on a football forum!

He's the king.

I'm somewhat scared that Kendrick will steal some shine from Bronson.

Maybe some written's from the album, the last two most definitely IMO.

"From Compton to Congress, it's set trippin all around.
Ain't nothin new but a flu of new Democrips & Rebloodicans
Red state vs. Blue state which one you governing?"
