Music Kendrick Lamar

GKMC leak thread was GOAT tbh, everyone was collectively in awe.
There's been a few, but that was by far the best.

KTT are currently figuring out and finding Kendrick's homies who might be on the currently unannounced cover, these guys are something else.

Yep, just saw that. The speed that their threads move in are ridiculous. It'll be in overdrive by the weekend, then I'll probably start posting there again for a bit of a laugh.

Got the fake link phase to go through yet and all.

Rolling Stone have an interview with Kendrick on Friday, he previewed six songs from To Pimp a Butterfly, in addition to two already released. They claim it's a very jazzy sound, as expected.
Lamar’s new album is adventurous, incorporating elements of funk, spoken-word poetry, and free-jazz, augmented by lots of live playing.

Listened to Section80 & GKMC today. Can't wait for this album, I'm sure it will live up to the hype.

When KTT people get obsessed about something, that shit gets weird. Still I like browsing that forum to see what's happening in the music world.

So many layers to this Kendrick album and all we've got is a cover and title. The title seems to be taking inspiration from "To Kill A Mockingbird" which is obvious and also from Iceberg Slim's 'Pimp' which has a chapter named...Butterfly. I most definitely need a poster of that album cover.

This is looking like the most significant Hip Hop album since Fear Of A Black Planet. The hype, the political impact, the critical expectations, the projected sales... Music needs this.

It's pretty difficult to be a fan of hip-hop and not appreciate Kendrick Lamar. I'd be a massive K-Dot fan, I would count myself as a 'Stan', but I've yet to be disappointed by any of his releases. Loved Section.80, went back and listened to Overly Dedicated and Kendrick Lamar EP, loved 'em too. Was overly hyped for good kid, and it delivered. 'i' took a while to grow on me but it did and now I'm looking forward to hearing it within the album, especially as there is a counter track labelled 'u'.

Is the tracklist, no idea whether there're no feats or they're not included.

The track he did on the Colbert show better be there.

Apparently he wrote that on the day or the day before the show and Terrace Martin and Thundercat messed up the live performance and just vibed out:

http://www.npr.org/blogs/microphone...tin-everything-got-a-little-bit-of-funk-in-it

MARTIN: Oh, the song. The song. We made — that song, we came with that the day before at rehearsal. Cause we didn't want to do nothing that's already been done. He didn't want to do "i." Let's just, you know, fly out, New York. Let's rehearse in New York and get that energy and do something a little different.

KELLEY: So you wrote it the day before you performed it. Is that what you're saying?

MARTIN: Yeah, yeah.

KELLEY: I just need to sit with that for a second.

MARTIN: Yeah. We had a sketch of it though. We had an idea of it a while ago. But we wasn't sure — but most of that was done right there — not right there but the day before. And then something magical and spiritual happened there to where some things that wasn't, you know, rehearsed, happens.

IDK if it's gonna be on the album, might be a bonus track.

tracklist leaked today as well didnt it? or did kendrick put it out?

That was from UMG and blogs, not from some dude in Germany who currently claims to have the album rn, he posted this image on Twitter and deleted it:

It's missing Track 5 and I think there are features on the album.

If you think the Caf's thread is bad, take a look at this.

Edit: in the time it took me to post, the thread moved on 3 pages!

Another snippet of King Kunta. Apparently it's some motherfecking killer track on TPAB. It seems that there're some idiots on KTT and section80 who've got the album already, apparently the physical versions have been shipped to Austria and Germany already (thus the first snippet of KK from some German guy on twitter) so it's only matter of time I guess.
