Music Kendrick Lamar

Hope so.

God sounds like he's taking piss of recent Kanye, I swear.

XXX is gonna get hated on because of U2 but undeservedly so, it's a very, very good track imo.

It would be a shame if XXX got hated on for that. It's mostly Kendrick, U2 are barely on it.

I just can't get into him for some reason. I definitely think he lacks flow on most songs and his over-pronunciation (well, I guess it's moreso correct pronunciation) of words just puts me off a bit.

Love everything about him except for his music

It's amazing and I reckon it will just grow on me too.

Oh lawd
Somebody grab the tinfoil! I think they're setting themselves up for disappontment though. We'll see.

LOVE. is the most un-Kendrick song but it's brilliant.

This would be so insane. I really want this to be true, it would be mind blowing.

Another classic. Loving the album, he goes in as usual on the lyrics & the beats are nice too. The way he can seamlessly switch his style & delivery is incredible. Feel is amazing.

If that theory in spoiler above is true, then fecking hell

Just cements my opinion that he's untouchable at the top right now, nobody is even close for me.

Only had one listen so far. FEAR may be one of my favourite tracks in a long time. Album is fecking fire, dude can mix it up on so many levels. Listening to Duckworth like:

Jesus please be true.

It would probably explain lack of The Heart Part 4. Plus this album was meant to be more gospel-connected iirc, hardly any gospel-ish vibes from it, innit?

He could pull off Game with his Documentary 2 shit here.

Thread title was bugging me. Fixed it.

Been on a road trip so I had to be unsocial and headphones my first listen. Played it on the aux the second time but now I'm in bed with no other noise for a third listen.

So I just listened to 'Humble' and it was awful to listen to. Lyrics aside, it just sounds awful. Child-like flow and a beat I could make myself in 1 hour in FL Studio. God I really want to enjoy today's hiphop because I'm running out of oldschool gems but it's simply not my cup of tea.

Your opinion is wrong.

Second full listen with rapgenius on, this album is amazing, even the tracks that I've had doubts about tonight are actually pretty good.

What an album, again.

Kendrick quickly cementing himself as GOAT.

If he drops another album on Sunday I will lose my shit.

Maybe I'm too hyped right now, but Kenny is GOAT for me after this album. The level of music he produces is insane, never drops a bad song or even bad verse. I don't know any rapper on that level.

If he drops another album on Sunday then that seals the deal.

I've not listened to much of his stuff, going to listen to his latest album later, but you rate him that highly?

Don't start with Damn as a first album you'd listen to. I'd say start as deep as Overly Dedicated, then Section 80, GKMC and then TPAB, followed by Untitled Unmastered. Only then can you see the progress he's made and how he adapts to different arrangements. I agree about the GOAT part too.

Oh, and when listening to GKMC/TPAB, you have to listen to the whole album, no picking and choosing there when it comes to order or other shit. From the first to the last.

Second listen through & love it! Only song I'm not sure about is the one with RiRi. Everything else is fantastic. The flow & the ease of his delivery is amazing.

This is what makes him the GOAT or at least in the discussion for GOAT. Each album he's dropped has been a classic in its own right but each album has been different & he's progressed as an artist. It's not the same recycled shit every time. Each has a different style/theme & they're albums to be heard as a whole rather than individual songs with no overarching theme. The man is a genius.

Kendrick is good... But not a touch on Flo Rida or Pitbull or Drake

Don't kill me I'm joking

He's top 10, you'd find it difficult to argue that he falls outside top 10 given his consistency, quality and growth as an artist.

The only rappers i'd objectively put above Kendrick are Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem, Biggie & Tupac.

But when it comes to personal favourites, he's in my top 5 for sure.

Love is such a smooth tune. Zacari's voice on that is on point

I'll take your advice. Starting some revision now, so the journey begins..
