Music Kendrick Lamar

New single is awesome, always liked his style and flow, very unique and can install tell it's him.

Apparently Metro Boomin is on the album, Cardo too, Memphis producer the name of Teddy Walton as well. I can kind of see where this album is going and I dig it but you never quite know what Kendrick is scoping. There's nothing wrong with simplicity, an album full of trunk rattlers is most welcome.

Also Mike Will's drums never distort at high volume, put some respect on that man's name.

FWIW, it's no less complex than Still Dre. And that was one of the greatest rap songs of all time.

It's no less complex than most of the 'true great' rap tracks...

Mainstream U.S Rap has needed to regain a little of that original, gritty boom-bap punch for years, but in a contemporary way.

If Kendrick does actually drop a record of high quality bangers, he's so influential that it could, at last, equal a moving on from the spacious production, autotune chorus years.

Here's hoping.

We all agree the song is a bit shit, but why do people like the video?

Has anybody said that? Most seem to like it and even I've just said it's a bit too simple for Kendrick.

The video looks good, has a few interesting camera techniques and people with heads on fire. It's nothing groundbreaking but it is a good video.

Odd post all round.

I literally couldn't sleep last night (In NZ) because I was constantly having dreams about this album dropping and waking up realising it wasn't real

I also had a nightmare that he had a track on the album with Rihanna. *shudder*

And in one of the dreams the album was called Bristol A Weekend

Oh my god a pre-order has gone up on iTunes saying April 14th release date.

Kill me.

FFS I kept waking up to check for the album and Kenny does this

We didn't get our shit together

I've been duped

I still pre-ordered though, eff it. Alchemist produced track?! Yes please

U2 listed in credits. Enough reason to dislike it right there.

Sample most likely.

DJ Dahi and Sounwave handling most of the production on this. Alchemist has one beat, Cardo another, Mike Will has another beat, 9th Wonder has a beat too as does James Blake.

I'm not the biggest fan of Humble but the beat is the best thing about it. Really reminded me of this, but with 21st century production.

Got this from r/HipHopHeads:

Surprised to see MikeWillMadeIt produce 3 tracks. Excited to listen to the James Blake track, should be dope. Soundwave produced Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe and MAAD City on GKMC and a few tracks on TPAB

It's not even that good a song either, there's certainly better on TPAB.

Apparently Humble was supposed to be released on the 7th but it got leaked early.

How does that fit in with the line about getting our shit together by the 7th?

The Heart Part 4 said "You got 'til April 7th to get your shit together", Humble was released on April 1st, a week earlier than expected.

Same thing happened with TPAB. When it was released on March 15th, 2015 there was a huge thing with his label being unhappy, that it was supposed to be the 23rd instead.

Bit worried if I'm honest.
