It looks like the players gave 200% effort today to get one last trophy for their departing manager.

This along with some better tactics and a few key players returning.

Come on now, let it end on a high note. It's not one off, backs to the wall games like this every week, you need to be better week in week out. Moving on is still the best decision, of course it is. Just enjoy the great moment today.

As much as I’ve wanted him to succeed, he hasn’t done enough to earn another year. The football and squad building hasn’t progressed as needed. Two cups is lovely but we need someone else.

The players are playing for him, and we've seen we can do better when we have our best players. In the right setup he could do well. The alternatives are not that impressive anyway.

Keep him.

* I might regret starting this thread tomorrow.
So you lose 2-3 key players thru injury and it's acceptable to be complete utter bollocks of a team? A manager has to keep the team going (read: winning) to challenge for top 4 and more importantly, a league title - whether they have their best 11 each match or not.

Build a Niall Quinn-esque statue of him outside Old Trafford.

Huh? If anything, it shows we can be much better with our best players back.

Which is a massive issue, it means that the manager's added value isn't there.

Given how slowly we move, it’s not like a new manager is going to have a full summer to rebuild the squad so we might as well stick with Ten Hag until at least Christmas. If there’s no improvement by then, definitely sack him.

Let's take a couple of days to enjoy the cup win and come back to it after that.

Took far too many games to see the error in his ways. I do wonder if it was Wilcox that sat him down and told him to cop himself on.

Can’t make a decision based off one game. He has to go. Thanks for the cup. And best of luck.

The players played for themselves today.
Yea better to make it after an injury filled season than 1 good game with most of our first choice players.... Wait

Not the first team to raise their game for a cup final.

He needs to go.

Give him another chance with a fit squad. I'll be gutted if we sack him, and I was one who turned on the other managers quite early.

If he goes, I'm gonna feel very grateful to him for developing the young players as he has done. And for Licha, what a game he has today! Especially given he was half fit at best.

Would any of the other big clubs sack a manager who has won 2 cups in 2 years and been to 3 Wembley finals?

If you twist it this way,
you can easily, easliy make Mourinho's time here look like a success. even LVG.

Just look at the table, look at the way we play.
Why the hell should we keep going in this direction?

Very nice to have won a trophy, over the cheating cnuts as well.
Now, sack ETH and move on.

I don't care either way

Keep him, we go again next year

Sack him, we go again with a new person

Outcomes at the end of next season probably won't be that much different, we'll be asking for a new manager regardless. It is known.

Enjoy the day!

The players are aware their futures are on the lines. The usual suspects will be underperforming for a new manager soon enough.

Yea better to make it after an injury filled season than 1 good game with most of our first choice players.... Wait

We’ve been horrific this season. The tactics have been an abomination. Injuries or not, playing no midfield all season was suicide. The fact he remembered today, doesn’t change that.

We parked the bus and got a result. Well done. Delighted for the win, and delighted for Ten Hag, but he has to go.

I think the decision has been made. I was always in the camp to give him one more year, but I understand.

We should thank you for the trophy and say good bye Eric, best of luck.

I like Ten Hag as a person and really believed he was the one to take us back to the top. Injuries or no injuries though, our league performance was historically bad. Countless implosions the last couple of years as well. He’s done immensely well to win two trophies but this isn’t sustainable in my opinion.

No thanks... great for him today and I applaud him, I do.. but this is a one-off, and also, we cannot play like that v often, and City were poor, so we just have to be happy, but realistic too. We need to build next season, and make some big decisions. I think ETH has shown his cards, had a good time to present himself and we have struggled.

If we'd been an unlucky team destined for top 4, but no stars aligned you could make a case, but we've been a lucky bottom half team this season that snuck into 8th.

Would be insane to keep him.

This club is about winning trophies and so far he's been here 2 years and won 2.

2/3 finals won.

Unless we can get someone demonstrably ,significantly better, which we can't, we should stick with him.

This win has just cemented my view to keep him.

Poch, Tuchel et al are just a reset button precisely when we don't need it.

Poch is just fecked up at Chelsea
Tuchel is just break Bayern 11 times consecutive title..
I don't see why they can bring us to back to glory......

i would like to keep ETH rather than both of them....just one more year with more health squad
Also, just hope Ref is more fair of foul and be fouled

Cup competitions are different than the league, and we play well when we're the underdogs. We would have struggle more had it been Bourmouth in the final

0,5 cm from going out to Coventry in the semis after giving away a 3-0 lead. All about margins with cups. Leauge-table never lies. 14 losses in the league with -1 GD is not anywhere near good enough.
