Justin Kluivert| Signs with AS Roma

At one stage this season people were complaining about Rashford getting undeserved minutes. It's bullshit to say he's shown no patience for inconsistency.

It's also bullshit to pretend we historically showed it, our list of youngsters in then out is quite impressive even in the season you've stated.

My point is we'd be better served getting someone who can hit the ground running than to try and bed in another young attacking player because unlike in the past, we don't have the luxury to be waiting for young players to adapt to a new country and/or club. So no Nani-Anderson circa 2008, or Rooney-Ronaldo 2004 transfers etc.

Do you really want another Raiola client? Have you already forgotten about the Guardiola-Pogba saga? There are other agents out there with other good players.

That was a saga?

Just sign him and loan him back to Ajax or a PL club where he gets regular football. In 12-18 months he should be ready.

Ajax is not gonna take him back on loan if he is sold. This is no Championship Manager.

Even if they would, he would not be welcomed by the fans or "fans".

Even better. Loan him to a PL team. He will learn faster due to the increased competition level he faces.

Kluivert close to moving to AS Roma. Ajax want 20mio euro

Here is more likely to move to a side like this or RBL instead of a side like us. There is some turmoil at Ajax and there is very little money in Dutch Football so a lot of guys are going to leave Ajax this summer.

Would be great if we could sign him now and loan or develop him rather than pay 3x that next summer.

I'd rather see him go somewhere mid to lower table and then buy him from them if he does well. Its so difficult gauging quality in the dutch league now because a lot of the defending is so bad.

Form what I've seen, the guy can dribble and shoot on target. Rashford can't even do that to save himself. (Tap-Ins don't count). I would rate Martial ahead of Rashford. My solution would be to loan Rashford out and bring in Kluivert. Kluivert can play on the left or the right and he's quick too.

So basically you think we should loan out a prem proven player who has actually demonstrated he can score goals for us and replace him for one who hasn't, but looks great on YouTube. Sounds like a plan.

We signed a guy like that under LVG and he soon fell out of favour. He was player of the year in the Dutch league and he's hardly pulling up trees at Lyon.

I don't see Mourinho going for a player like Kluivert, he'll only bench him after a few frustrating games and give him the Martial treatment. I'd stay away from United if I were him

he apparently has been recently. since being moved to a central position he has 7 goals and 6 assists in just 6 games
Oh wow! impressive.

Not sure if he'll ever be world class but it's good news for the Netherlands, and it may get him a move to a bigger club;Inter or the like

Depends - you could argue the same about a young Robben but that seemed to work.

I like Martial but everybody knows Jose tends to demand certain things of his wide players (unless your Ronaldo - and Martial aint Ronaldo) so either Martial adapts or he moves on - would the same happen with Kluivert - well I guess that would come down to if he embraces what Jose demands of that position... I think Jose and his dad have some history so if he did join you would like to think he would be fully aware of whats going to be expected / demanded of him

Unless you have the finished product of a seasoned pro like Ronaldo, Hazard or Willian you're going to struggle with Mourinho when you're a young and developing player who needs patience.

"I'm not renewing my contract at Ajax. Too much has happened," Kluivert admitted.

"The decreasing morale, lack of confidence, trying to sell me to Tottenham without me knowing.

"I heard about that at the last minute. That says nothing about Ajax, but about the people in the club.

"They do want they want. I get that feeling again, they do what they want."

"Ajax change coaches too easily. They do not really get a chance.

"You notice our trainer that he is not really comfortable. You also saw that with Marcel Keizer.

"That's what boys feel. You can see how trainers behave, how they express themselves, even in the press. It feels unstable.

"The team was very close at the beginning of the season. That is no longer the case."

He's off then.....

People always want to paint young Dutch players who leave the Eredivisie at young ages as greedy and selfish But, you can make more money at even mid table clubs in England, Spain, Italy, Germany and even France. Can you blame them? And Gregory Van Der Wiel had similar comments about Ajax years ago.

Kid only scored one league goal against a top 9 team this year. Very classic Raiola combined with a young player who overestimates himself, hasn't really been a great idea with some of his other clients like Narsingh, Assaidi, El Ghazi or Ouasim Bouy.

Babygames, played bij Raiola and Kluivert.

Kluivert was mentioned in negotiations about Snachez with Spurs. Spurs wanted to sign him and would let him stay at Ajax for two more years. No one was trying to dump him.

Kluivert one week ago: I wanted to sign at Ajax, but only if i became the best payed player.
Kluivert this week: Ajax is only thinking about money.

right. Good luck kiddo.

He sounds like a right twat, wouldnt take him on a free, unless it is for the reserves. He isnt that good currently

Im amazed at people thinking him a twat for not wanting to be sold to Spurs....

He didn't say that he didn't want to be sold to Spurs .... his anger stems from not being told about the potential deal and not being asked whether or not he'd favour such a move..

how is that different from what I said? Ajax wanted to sale him to Spurs without consulting him as to whether he even wanted such a move in the first place. If he wanted to move to Spurs he'd never have been pissed

Not necessary true. He can be attracted to Sours but feel disrespected.

He'd hardly be unhappy at the prospect ... doubtless he's taken note of the progression of players like Eriksen, Sanchez, Vertonghen who all moved from Ajax to Spurs, not to mention Alderweireld who also used to play for Ajax.

What happened with El Ghazi? Was highly rated when coming through wasn't he?

Well he was a decent prospect, excellent type of player for Ajax to have, but nothing truly special or exceptional. He had some troubles with Peter Bosz from what I remember, and then Raiola moved him in the winter to Lille.

Ricardo Kishna is another Raiola client who belongs in that list of names by the way.

Ah yeah I saw he'd moved to Lille, not a bad place to continue his development.

I remember Kishna being highly touted also, as well as Tony Vilhena (spelling might be wrong?) What about Richairo Zivkovic?
