Jurgen Klopp

Difficult to see where he would end up. The sugar daddy clubs looks very likely to be interested in this, PSG and Real if they don't win the league and/or go to the semi finals at a minimum. City are clear contenders but I can't see why Klopp would want to go to them? Their key players are getting old with Silva, Toure and a large amount of their first eleven as well with Zabaleta, Kolarov, Navas, Fernandinho, Demichelis, Kompany and Dzeko all pushing 30.

Seems like a very difficult job for them to make that massive rebuild that they need. I doubt they can execute it very well with FFP in mind. For City it makes all the sense in the world to bring in someone who can adhere to the homegrown criteria as well as building a great team on a budget, but for Klopp it looks terrible.

So I see him going to Madrid/PSG who has good players at their disposal for his system and if they don't win the league/CL they will very likely want to kick their managers.

United for me are a bit of an underdog but I can see that happening as well. LVG came to United as a sort of interim manager who was supposed to build a great foundation for the next manager. We have players who are suited for Klopp as well even if it would be sad to see LVG leave.

Ideally LVG won't leave next year as they've said and then I'd of course want him to stay longer.

I very much doubt that he goes to France or Spain. He doesn’t speak the languages and he was already talking about his desire to take a job in England. Furthermore both clubs don’t really suit his style, tactics, character and image. I´d be honestly surprised if PSG/Real would try to sign him and I´d also be surprised, if he´d accept such an offer.

City´s squad doesn’t suit “Kloppo” football at all. It would be a huge gamble to hire him. I think he would be tempted and it would make sense for City, if they are planning a major overhaul. Still it’s more likely that they try to sign someone else (e.g. Ancelotti, Viera).

He´ll join Arsenal, United or Pool if they need a new manager, but it is extremely unlikely that Wenger or LvG leave. Its much more likely, that Rodgers leaves/is sacked.

He hasn’t planned any of that so it’s also a real possibility, that he doesn’t get the right offer and waits another year. Sooner or later there will be an opening to join one of those three clubs.

conclusion:
waits a year for the right offer > Liverpool > City > Arsenal/United >>>>>>>>>> Real

@Dante How do you feel about United fans who supported Atletico for a extended period of time at the end of last season when they were fighting Barca and Real for La Liga and the champions league? I mean Barca and Real are legitimate European rivals for United in terms of club stature and buying players etc

Liverpool seems most likely to me. Arsenal won't sack Wenger after their recent run, City would be a bad fit for the reasons already mentioned above and Liverpool would be a pretty good fit for an English club and if they miss top4 they might have a reason to consider sacking Brenton.

He might have to take year off whether he likes it or not. I don't think he will go to Manchester City as they seem like they put too much pressure on a manager. They said they wanted 5 trophies in 5 season the club has won two with the season still not finished but yet there are rumours they want rid of Pellegrini.

I don't think anyone properly supported them. I wanted them to win la liga but I didn't tune into every game religiously nor be involved like I am with a United match when I did. But yes, if I watched I wanted them to win and preferred them winning la liga to real or barca.

Woody, sign him up and stash him away at another club for 2 seasons.

Yeah that's what I meant. I wanted them to win but I didn't really care if they lost.

Sucks that he might be on his way to City. Impossible to hate him. You could try but it just makes you the bitter loser. There's nothing to say he'll be a massive success but win or fail he will be the coolest manager in the Prem. Well, after Big Sam.

Almost makes me wish that LVG failed to turn things around...

The thing is, there's no hint to suggest that LVG will be retiring any time soon. Fergie was in his 70's and Wenger is still going strong. I think the idea that he's only here to steady the ship is a bit misjudged. He could be here a very long while yet.

Van Gaal's way cooler than Klopp.

Van Gaal's the coolest manager on Earth in my opinion.

Out of the young managers Guardiola's the coolest.

I heard that during a discussion about players, LVG invited klopp to be his number 2 for a couple of years.

Good Lord, imagine van Gaal's tactical genius with Klopp on the sidelines drilling the points home and raging at the officials!

Dream combo, but never gonna happen.

With Liverpool's failures this season I cannot see B-Rod staying and as much as it pains me, Klopp could very welll end up as their new manager.

Was just thinking this....

If Klopp were offered the Man City job & the Liverpool job, I don't think it would be a simple decision to join City. We should at least inquire.

Would you sack Rodgers for Klopp?

Would you sack Rodgers for Klopp?

I'd pay for his ticket back to Ireland.

I'm not claiming to be some sort of football mastermind - In fact my indepth knowledge of the game is probably less than the majority of fans on this site, but I know that playing players in their natural positions is a good thing, and starting a cup semi-final without a striker on the pitch is a stupid fecking thing to do

That would be horrible. I like Klopp but I'd surely be forced to hate him within 6 months.

I still like LVG, which is awkward as feck  His interview yesterday was boss.

Maybe Klopp could be the exception to the rule. If anyone can, it'd be him.

Approach him. If he turns us down, we'll know where we stand and and what his ambitions are. You can't turn down a chance to not to approach a manager of his calibre if he's available.

Perhaps Klopp sits out a year, does some punditry and/or consulting, then jumps back into the ring after the 2015-16 season.
I think he said something in his leaving press conference about having no plans for a sabbatical.

People seem to be forgetting the club ethos of Borussia Dortmund is entire different to that of Liverpool. Borussia Dortmund is a progressive and ambitious club that assembles up and coming young talent and its main restraint really is it cannot (and will not) pay the wages Bayern Munich will pay to keep them. Liverpool are a club living in their past and hailing the glory days; you can see it in every single one of their press briefs, having to remind everyone that Liverpool were once successful. Regardless of the challenge, I think for that reason a manager like Klopp won't go there.

Liverpool will be hard pushed to bring in a top drawer manager to turn them around now, and the same goes for players unless they get a sugar daddy to spend 500m on buying a new stadium, players and manager. They fell from grace just too early for the Sky money, and now BT money, to give them the means to bounce back like we have. Unfortunately for them, football in general wasn't really big enough around the world to prevent a club from failing; now it is and they have missed the boat.

Probably to take a year out to focus on promoting Sugar Puffs again, then take it from there.

No, he said no sabbatical planned I think. Can see him managing again this summer, will have plenty offers.

Liverpool have great history...and still have huge global support. Any money bags would gladly buy them.

It can happen.....

History is only really relevant if the club is actually winning trophies or at least consistently competing though... Of course it can happen and it wouldn't surprise in the least if it does, but Liverpool have much bigger problems than their playing staff and manager in terms of competing long-term without a sugar daddy with the current status quo. City have a sugar daddy and they're expanding their stadium, Chelsea have one and they're looking at moving to a bigger stadium. Someone said in another "what's the point in qualifying for the CL if they aren't going to do anything in it" referring to Arsenal; the consistent Champions League money has paid for Arsenal's 60 thousand seater stadium while they were in a time of attrition and they're now in a position where they can kick on and invest in their playing staff; that money meant everything. United have a 76k seater and even bloody Spurs are at a point where they can move from White Hart Lane.

I'd actually say Spurs, when they get a new stadium, are more likely to come close to winning the Premier League than Liverpool will be again in the next 10-15 years. They're a London based club, they consistently get European football (even if it's Europa) and they will have a new big stadium. All it would take is for Levy to stop selling their best players and giving a manager chance and Spurs could be challengers.

Edit: My point about Liverpool's history; Leeds have a great history, as do Nottingham Forest. Even Preston North End have a decent history. Do you think it's likely a big-time Charlie will invest massively in any of these clubs based upon their history? I find it unlikely. Liverpool's only asset in that respect (at the moment) is they are still in the Premier League.
