Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

They won't sack him, he's been too successful for them and there aren't that many other high quality managers available. So let's hope things get worse and we can keep topping up the popcorn.

The thing I dislike about him is he doesn't have an ounce of humility or class about him. Has he ever given credit to the opposition when his teams been beaten. Ever? Blokes a total weapon. No wonder he was the perfect fit for them.

Exactly this. He’s not a nice bloke at all. He’s a smug wanker.

Third goal didn't count yesterday apparently.

Yeah. apparently you need to cross the halfway at least 20 times before any goals count against him. I have to say it's glorious seeing him implode. I just hope it sustains but no doubt they will be back on the gear next year, splash 150mil on Bellingham (They don't spent loads on players though allegedly) and he will be heralded as some kind of genius once again. Bavarian fraud.

Agreed. He has a bit of the faux football romantic energy that the likes of Bielsa, Ander Herrera etc. do as well where he pretends it’s all about the romance of football and people lap it up.

At least Pep basically lets the world know he’s a sociopathic demon

I didn't say anywhere that his record is comparable to SAF, it obviously isn't.
No, so I don’t see how he can be comparably “unsackable”.

Even SAF was not actually unsackable. Of course he would have been treated right but finishing mid-table would not be tolerated, not these days.

He's always been a sour sore loser cnut.

I think he'll walk if he doesn't get the money to replace the midfield.

I think sacking him now would be the best thing for Liverpool but the worst thing for everyone else. The man is burnt out, devoid of ideas and for someone else to come in now and freshen it all up would be annoying.

Keep him til the summer and assess then.

Sacking, the cure to all ills

Had a Liverpool fan out with me last night. Basically in tears about the whole situation. He’s fully turned against Klopp, partly because of the results, partly because of the personality. He’s been a season ticket holder for years and I pointed out he won the league for them and he needs time. His exact response was “he won the league in a season decimated with corona and in front of no fans - we might as well not have won it” and I pointed out that they have a few injuries and he rightly pointed out other teams do as well. This guy is as die hard as it gets, so it looks like the jig might be up. When he heard the quote about the third goal he went to the bar to buy us all a round cuz “he was fed up of listening to the bull shit”!

Your friend is clueless tbh. Liverpool won the league (as good as) with fans in the stadium, they won 25 games out of 26 when season stopped.

Sorry but your mate sounds like a proper mard.

Yeah he is horrible little bully with absolutely no class at all. I genuinely can't stand the man.

Last season definitely took a toll on them. Doing so well yet failing to win the league or the CL would hurt them. Selling Mane was a strange call and keeping Salah even more weird. Then spending £140m but on attackers and not midfielders just showed Klopp wasn't sure what he was doing.

they didn’t get to celebrate did they. My mate celebrated it locked in his house trying to keep the noise down.

I don't know if they celebrated but your friend's point is wrong. Liverpool league title has nothing to do with "team' decimated during Covid". If not for Covid they probably would have broken City's record.

Course it was. Half the teams that year they played had their best players isolating. Literally the most compromised title win of all time, I think even most Scousers would agree with that.

He'll get sacked before the end of the season.

The more Nunez and Gakpo fluff their lines, the more pressure he gets pilled on him. If they lose heavily against Palace and Everton then he's on the ropes. Will only take another 3-0 or 4-0 at that point to finish him off.

We've seen it over the years with our managers. You start losing games heavily, 3 thrashings in a row and the manager is one or two games away from the sack, regardless of what they've done previously.

His inability to rebuild really says a lot. This was obviously a big task, but he’s massively sinking under the weight of having not his ideal team all at the peak. Shows a massive distinction between the very best managers and him. So sad to watch, thoughts and prayers to all involved.

@Klopper76

Do you think he’s not been ruthless enough in keeping the squad fresh?

Pep moving on Cancelo and others had me thinking. It was something Fergie would often do too regularly to everyone’s surprise (Ince, Hughes, Becks, Keane, Stam, Ruud etc)

Every manager is hit or miss with transfers
True to a degree but he has no pedigree for signing players that are ready to go. The only time he's been successful is when he has 3 seasons to bed players in and get them used to the system, which is why he can only do it once every 7 years with a set of brand new players.

Klopps signing's are hit and miss, if he had a blank chequebook you'd expect him to squander half of it.

Pep has spent over a billion. His misses aren’t of consequence as they’re benched and/or promptly replaced by another high-value signing.

Pep's a bit mental, he apparently moved Cancelo on because he was annoyed about not starting as often as he wanted to, and Pep has this mental philosophy of 'no unhappy faces' especially if you're not picked. It seems controlling for the sake of controlling, people should be able to react as they want to as long as their professional.

Someone else mentioned that Klopps approach is to protect everyone and be their mate so maybe he's just too soft and hope people will buy in because they like him?

Yeah well he's not great either but they sign for top money usually so they always get the best, except for in the full back position it seems.

In tears, bloody hell.

Thiago was another poor signing by them, in my opinion. He’s no where near direct enough for what they used to be good at, and not intense enough without the ball.
I think they got lucky in the recruitment side of things, between the coutinho money and several signings all hitting the ground running.

Amazing thing is, they've won 2 fecking major trophies in this so called 'era of dominance under Klopp'. Clown club
Was watching soccer Saturday (I was bored) and heard Jeff Steling tell Merson that Klopp has won 6 major trophies. The only ones I could think of was the 2 you have mentioned and the 2 cups last season. Can anyone help with the other two .?

Yeah there will always be a massive asterisk next to that title win. Refreshing to hear of a Liverpool fan who's aware of it.

These are not major trophies, just trophies.
