Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Is this just fantasy
Goals were offside
No escape from reality
Open your eyes look up to the sky and see

I'm just a poor coach, I need sympathy
Because players easy come, easy go
Good bye Co-tin-yo
Any way the wind blows matters to me, to meeee...

Well done

The lack of Pool fans coming in to defend him is deafening.

Think they are realising he's a bit of a cretin
They have no leg to stand on after doing same to southampton and Lepzig. Its like karma came back to haunt them.

Anyone else find it odd that he had a translator for his pre match press conference translating what he said from English to German after he'd finished giving his answers in English? I mean, he's German right? I just found that really weird.

We're watching you lot go on about it with amusement. I also don't defend trees, or butterflies, or the fact that the sun shines. :)

Why bother to get into the same old argument once again? You don't like him, we do, nuff said.

Christ, your standards must be rock bottom if you see Klopp as comparable to any of those things.

It's not an argument. I'm just wondering if you see his reference to last season again as a tad odd.

I know you don't see any bad in the man but surely it's not normal..

Their second goal wasn't offside, their third was though. If true, the reference is indeed odd and makes him look a bit obsessed.

I don't really care what he says in press conferences though, managers say daft things all the time to suit their own agenda and Klopp is certainly no exception to that. I like his style though (the answer to "do you remember your first time?" for example), but the most important thing is how he gets us to play on the field, not what he says off of it.

This thread has however become a bit of a knee-jerk one to bash him with whatever he's said or done, and he gets more ridiculed in here than that his team's performances are actually discussed, so that's why I don't bother to read this one sometimes.

To be fair, there's only so many times we can talk about your shite defense.

I'd love it if we faced them in a final and beat them just so we could say, "The difference was that we played Liverpool and they played Manchester United, they had it so much tougher than us."

Wow Klopp is such a moaner, always bringing up past grievances. Offside goal against United, having to play a team with better quality than Ajax, the weather being too windy for god sake man deal with it.

I do believe he is a very good coach but since the past couple of seasons with Pool it looks like it has made him more mad then his usual self.

By constantly talking stupid things about united, I guess he thinks he will be loved more by Liverpool fans.

Two years into his tenure now. 100 Premier League games. If Pep, Mourinho, Wenger, Pellegrini, etc had similar records they'd have been hounded into oblivion by the press. So why not Klopp?

I am gonna try
to compile just as many fachts as you did
we'll sign on, we'll sign on
Wind conditions really matter.....

Honestly believed the mods were pulling a terrible joke with the title change... Then I remember that it's Klopp & Pool, of course what seems insane would be real.

Agree with both. This place could do with more discussion about his style.

Surely you don't really believe this? Managers are often defined by what they say off the pitch as much as they work on it. Mourinho would still be at Chelsea if he hadn't gone on that self-destructing tirade of press conferences in that season, Conte would still have the services of Costa, and the whole concept of mind-games wouldn't exist, forget someone like Fergie being adept at them and using them to bully teams even before we'd played them.

I know it's convenient to ignore what Klopp says in the hope that you'll continue to have the same sort of success as last year (if you consider CL places a success, that is) on the pitch, but don't you think it's a huge part of being a manager at a top club - the way they carry themselves off it? And doesn't it bother you that your manager is so obsessed with United and makes silly points and weird preferences at times?

I mean, we own up to our managers' stuff - LVG and the whole 'horny' stuff, Mourinho and his mad 'eggs' analogy. Why don't you do the same?

I do the same, I've got no problem to admit he says daft things from time to time and contradicts himself as well, but he's no angel either and anyone who thinks he is, is fooling himself. I meant what I said though, it's the on field performances that count for me. Of course I don't want Klopp to be an outright cnut as he represents our club, which is why I'd never want Mourinho at Liverpool (personal taste, really dislike him), but I don't care if he says weird things from time to time if we perform on the field. But sure yeah, what can we do as fans when he makes a reference to the United "offside" goal once again? Sigh, and move on. I don't feel the need to come in here and defend him for it since I think it's an unnecessary thing to bring up again.

They have higher standards?
Why do fans care about this?

(Btw, the answer is the clubs they were/are at. 'Pool don't have the resources of the mancs and chelsea and so are not expected to be as succesfull)

I had to google It's not fair. Watford scored offside goal like United did last season

to see if this title is true, or just trolling klopp, maybe klopp needs to look at his own team's inability to defend like a computer without anti virus software lol

Klopp going to a club like Liverpool is expected to take baby steps towards restoring them to the top, unlike Mourinho and Pep (Pellegrini to an extent) who are expected to make big strides. Mostly because of their reputations and that they have been blessed with bigger budgets. Pep and Mourinho especially are expected to deliver instant success, whereas Klopp's known for extended projects. Wenger's different because he's been poor for over a decade now, yet remains at the helm. His situation is very unique, not just in the PL but in world football.

Jurgen came in mid-season and got an underperforming Liverpool side to beat United in a high profile encounter, and did very well against big teams. That and his 2 cup finals essentially got him a free-ride for the season. In his second year, Liverpool started well but faltered due his lack of foresight and/or poor squad management. But he did make top 4, which was par for what was expected so again it's progress. However if he doesn't win any silverware this season, then I think the tide will start to turn.

Just did again
Took a dig at Uni-ted
Said I wouldn't but I'm(a) pothead

Found this. Herr Nagelsmann throwing some shade in Klopp's direction:D

Klopp hasn't won anything. The media love a lovable loser. Who do they love to stick the knife into? Pep, Jose & Wenger. Last season, it was all sunshine and roses for Conte, now he has a PL title we are one game in and the team are in crisis and it's mainly his fault apparently.

If Klopp ever did manage to fluke a major trophy the press would soon turn on the big German cheerleader

Because after 26 years without winning the title, and years without winning anything at all, expectations aren't as high for Liverpool as they are for the bigger clubs in the league.

I hope we beat them 1-0, with our goal coming in the 8th minute of 2 minutes of stoppage time, and the goal is scored by Pogba dabbing in an offside position, slapping the ball towards the goal, it bouncing off a beach ball, and being stopped on the line, only for the ref to award it anyway.
