Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

I can't believe he still thinks Origi is worth sticking with. Sturridge and Lallana should have started today.
They should, I agree. They both looked good and we looked revitalised once they came on. However Sturridge played 180 mins vs. Southampton in the EFL semis and couldn't get a goal so there was no guarantee that would have been any different yesterday and maybe coming on against tiring legs worked in his favour. Maybe starting Lallana (he played 80 mins last week and was one of the top 3 players in MOTM voting) and bringing Sturridge on at HT would have been the best solution in hindsight.

I think the bigger issue is when the qualifiers start and needing to get a fit team by then.
And who we get drawn against (if and when). However getting the team ready is a double edged sword, it could give the team an edge in the first month of the EPL season but see them tiring towards the end.

Mourinho's giving him lessons in exactly that this season so he'll get it right next.

Come on ... in the years of supporting United, i dont remember having to play so many matches a week for months on end -- probably not since the '99 season. It has taken it toll. We have been on this every 3/4days per match schedule since mid-October with the exception of a few weeks and we have a pretty deep squad to start with.

Of course I'm taking the piss because most of the last few pages of Klopp piss-taking is one-eyed to say the least (to be expected, naturally). But you know what I said is still accurate with regard to moaning. Mourinho moaned about 10 matches played in January .. well we played 11 with a similar injury list to United's. Both managers have the right to moan about that I would have thought.

January was a bad month for you but we have been at this type of schedule for so long, not just a January like yours. I can understand why Jose moaned about it. Eventually, the injuries will start to snowball.

Jose's big mistake was to overplay certain players (Ibra, Pogba to name a couple.) Instead, he should have blooded in a few kids early on. Leopard spots et al.

Hopefully, he will have learnt his lessons for next season.

Are Liverpool that much improved since Deidre was manager? I see more negatives than positives.

Finishing 4th don't mean shite. We finished 4th under Van Gaal and were still tumescent. It just papers over cracks.

That Klopp quote is the only good thing to come out of yesterday. Can't believe we're enabling that clown to get the scousers into the Champions League next season.

Huge, huge summer for him. Feel like he's got away with one this season as they've been shite for months but will still get top 4. I think he's done a good job but not brilliant, and he needs a great summer to address the weak areas of the squad as well as build a stronger squad to cope with extra games. They can't afford to waste any big transfers on dross like they've famously been doing for 20 odd years.

Needs a quality left back, centre back and midfielder for starters. Can they afford to spunk £120 million or thereabouts after sales? Feels like it's needed.

Klopp's comments at the point are just classic distractionslist nonsense. It's not a new trick by any means, he's just creating headlines about his jibberish rather than the team's obvious lack of quality. Lots of managers do it to take the heat off the players, Fergie was an absolute genius for it.

This thing about not being able to beat the lesser sides - with the proviso that it isn't always like that.

Southampton never came out for an hour did they apart from accidentally getting forward & having a couple of corners. Then they bring on ''attacking'' subs with 20 mins left - but mainly to keep pressure from increasing & increasing & forcing the defence too deep.

The so called big teams (unless your managed by Mourinho) won't settle for playing like this - they want to compete for a territorial share of the game & have some possession, it's what they are used to.

Since christmas, Liverpool have scored only 30 goals in 19 games. That's very poor record.

Complaining about the state of your own pitch!!

No European football to contend with and out of both domestic cups by January yet are only performing marginally better than United in league standings. He'll have run out of excuses by next season.

On September 13th 2017, Liverpool will reach 10,000 days since winning the league title in 1990. They clinched the 1989/90 on April 28th, with a 2-1 win over QPR, while Aston Vila drew 3-3 with Norwich.

Happy 10000th, Liverpool, and here's to the next 10000!!!

More than half of the world's 7.5 billion people are younger than Liverpool's wait for a league title.

:DSarcasm?

About 1.5 goals/game, regularly scoring is good.

No that's not sarcasm. Before that in 17 games Liverpool scored 41 goals.

For example we have scored 51 goals in 34 games (That's 1.5 goals per game) and we considered that as very poor.

Isn't that a bit like our extremely unimpressive unbeaten run? It means feck all if it means feck all?

Not sure what you meant by that. Their drop in goal scoring is very obvious and it's a valid point for discussion.

Yesterday was one of the most boring and frustrating games I´ve seen from Liverpool. And I´ve seen a few. It highlighted what we kind of already knew - that we suck at playing defensively oriented teams who just want to play on the counter. The fact is though, that most teams will play just like that against us. Partially because they´ve seen it work, and partially because we are a better team, kind of..

Imo, we really, really need a top class forward. Origi, Sturridge and Firmino just aren´t that. Firmino is good, but the two other should be shipped off and replaced by a top class starting forward and a sub.

Agree with you, and Klopp got it wrong for sure, made the changes too late.

FSG really need to get their act together and spend big this summer; l believe they are at £5m net spend in the black since they came, what is the point of increasing the stadium capacity if it doesn't translate into player purchases and a stronger team?! Same with the commercial deals.

They are expanding the revenue base of the club but what are they doing from there? Are they just using that as collateral to borrow more money to grow their other assets?

That said they have increased the stadium capacity, increased our revenue base, and we are in better shape than when they arrived. But if they cannot improve from here what are our options? Sell again l suppose. What do others here feel?

Maybe he just doesn't have the money at the moment. Once the stadium is complete that could change a lot.

According to transferleague Liverpool's net spend since FSG's takeover is about £150 million. Due to transfers and wages, the club made a loss of about £20 million in the 2015/16 season despite record revenue (source). So it seems like the money is being spent, the problem is the effectiveness of some of those transfers and of course also the far larger sums that City, United and Chelsea can throw at the transfer market.

Mourinho's fantastic tactics led to United scoring ZERO goals in 5 away matches at the other Top 6 this season, so excuse me if I sincerely hope he doesn't follow him.

Perhaps if you were harder to beat you might have been in with a chance of winning something this season.. and last.

What was the score in Spurs Vs United match? Also who won on Thursday (11th may) in the ManUtd vs Celta game at Old trafford?
