Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Jurgen the Gurner can feck off, even if what he said is blatant media manipulation to take the focus away from what was a fairly mediocre display from his side.

Aside from Valencia/Mikki/Herrera we were largely terrible and had by far the better chances, and they needed a penalty from a moment of complete madness from Pogba to score.

You've also got two pundits who think it's acceptable to say "I'm a Liverpool Fan, I'm biased" (Souness and Redknapp) saying similar things or paying back handed compliments to United, and being paid a hefty amount to do so. At least pretend to be professional for fecks sake.

What's more annoying is that the accepted view from the Anfield game is that we parked the bus which is complete nonsense to anyone who actually watched the game - even though we didn't have brilliant chances we attacked them from the first whistle until about the 65 minutes by which point we'd clearly lost a lot of energy.
Well said Sugar

I wish more pundits were open about their allegiances on air - for the most part, everyone knows who supports who anyway. This impartiality act is lame. I loved it when Scholes said someone should "smash lallana" at half time during the EL semi at Anfield - he was being totally honest. I wish there was more of it.

i can only chuckle because i heard him say that. Klopp believes his team did well but shutting out our midfield. We countered by sending in Rooney, Mata and Fellaini. We threw in long balls and started from the front instead of building from the back. Nothing wrong. He just couldn't cope with it. We didn't play well all day but we fought o so bravely! I'm thoroughly happy with our spirits. On our journey, we're going to turn so many hard days into winning ones and those will be the real winners.

Yep, he may want to reconsider the personal hype machine and Twitter emoji stuff prior to a significant game. Went pretty flat pretty quickly.

Its quite telling how little we've belittled Utd/Pogba for that stunt. Imagine Suarez, Gerrard or even Firmino pulling something like that when we were on a run of 9 wins and then Utd crashing our juggernaut at Anfield. The green smilies would be out in force.

For us its just a little, "Pogba, hehehe. #OverpricedTwat" and that's it.

Just watched MOTD. Liverpool has two chances worthy of air time. Utd had all the rest including our gifting of their goal. I think anyone with any sort of unbiased view on the game would dismiss his claim as a "bit" of a stretch.
Ah yes, because MOTD are credible in their coverage.

Last night, MOTD
-failed to address Rooney's nasty, career-ending tackle on James Milner.
-failed to address Pogba's shocking, borderline-vile foul on Henderson during a Liverpool corner.
-failed to address the fact cross in 83rd minute (that is the chance that led to Ibrahimovic's goal later on) came from an offside position.
-failed to address the fact Man United have scored 5 goals from an offside position this season, more than any other side by a country mile.

They failed to do that, but they did make the highlights all about United's "chances" while excluding a number of our own, all the while their commentator focused on Firmino's reaction to getting blatantly pulled by a shirt for at least 5 seconds in the most unsportsmanship form of on-pitch behaviour I've ever seen in English football.

That is the same MOTD that had Phil Neville rant about how great the British citizen and England's defender John Stones is, and how bad the (coincidentally, I'm sure) foreign defenders in his team are, implying he doesn't deserve any criticism and that he is over-criticized all the time, while people like Bravo totally get away with it week in, week out.

Ridiculous, delusional, xenophobic. Typical MOTD coverage really.

In the second segment he then went on about how the British citizen and England's midfielder Adam Lallana was the key to Liverpool shutting down the play of the best Man United player on the pitch, the British citizen and former England's midfielder Michael Carrick.
His "analysis" was just a bunch of poorly-worded drivel that pandered to BBC's involuntary taxpaying viewers.

So next time you claim unbiased views and MOTD are somehow connected, I suggest you first think long and hard about your claim, or at least watch the match first.

With best regards,

It was obviously biased of the referee not to give a penalty to Liverpool for a foul in their own box.

Theres no doubt theres a clear preference for Klopp over Jose in the media because the media have years of experience of Jose whereas Klopp is fresh and new and charming and has brought the media darlings Liverpool back into the big picture.

I thought that he was desperately trying to recover having lost Lovren and lost his bearings.

Agree mate, thought he lost Lovren then was trying so hard to get back to him and cover he lost his bearings and flight of the ball, mistimed his jump and it was a penalty. No arguments though from me, thought it was a certain penalty. I actually thought a draw was a fair result in truth.

Can you show me the stats that show these offside goals?
Rooneys was a yellow, chin up
Hendo needs to toughen up

I watched the game, we created better chances and let you off the hook, we then gifted you the lead and you couldn't defend simple long balls.

Another day and it's 2-0 at half time, keeps us in touch with top but disappointing not to beat a team that was there for the taking

Let's face it Klopp was never going to come out and say that United were the better team, he's clever enough to use every situation to milk the love out every Liverpool fan.

I have nothing against his antics and tactics on and off the pitch, but my only problem is with people who shower him with praise for whatever he does, but totally flip the script when they see the same thing coming from any other manager.

Come on now, don't be silly.

I'm glad that you, a Liverpool fan, has pulled him/her up on those comments.

Herrera took one for the team as many players have done over the years. Surely that wasn't worse than Suarez biting two players (admittedly not in a Liverpool shirt but still on a football pitch); Carragher throwing a coin back into the crowd and El Hadji Diouf spitting into the crowd.

Also, Gerrard's red card tackle on Herrera a couple of years ago was worse than the Rooney one yesterday on Milner and even then, neither were 'potentially career ending'

Rooney should have had a yellow card for sure though.

Suarez bit Ivanovic on his arm in a Liverpool shirt, that Liverpool fan is talking out of his arse when he is saying it's most unsportsmanship thing he has ever seen. Players blatantly pull shirts to stop the counter all the time, it was no different yesterday when Herrera took one for the team. Firmino's reaction was stupid and on another day he would've walked for it.

Anyways, coming to the game. It was a pretty shit game of football with little quality in attack shown by either side. I don't know what Klopp is smoking when he is saying they were the better team, apart from being gifted a penalty did they create anything apart from that Firmino chance on counter? We ourselves butchered whatever chances we created, you can't miss two 1v1s in a game of that magnitude. Neither side deserved to win and draw was a fair result.

If you're not on a card and you get done on the break like that you take the card, every single time, at any level, in fact at that stage of the game I would have taken a second yellow, it's the correct thing to do. I do it all the time when I'm playing, and I know for a fact that going the opposite way I'd rather be pulled back than hacked down and potentially pick up an injury. Sure it's frustrating from an attackers point of view, but life happens.

Grow up.

They didn't show any Liverpool highlights because there weren't any. There wasn't one passage of play that was even close to what you have played this season. Your chances came at the end of the game when United chased the game. You were all effort in pressing but little else. Even your shots tally was because they included blocked shots, and apparently one of the miskicks in the first half was classed as an on target shot. You had next to nothing on target because contrary to what Klopp said, you played for a draw, but hoped for a win, rather than played to win.
As for some of the points you raise, maybe look at Gerrard last game against us, you might get to realize retaliation is not OK. Could quite easIly have had a red, similar to players like Drogba and others that have been sent off for aggression after a tackle. It was a professional foul made by Herrera, all teams do it, it wasn't a knee high or dangerous tackle.
As for offside crosses, didn't seem to worry you at Anfield last season in the Europa. But think for a bit, how long after an offside has not been given, does it become important or relevant to the attack. There was quite a bit of play once he crossed, Rooney controlling and beating 2 players, the cross where Fellaini hits the post, Valencia again crossing, zlatan beating GK and player on the line. Not exactly the same as poking the ball in the net from an offside position.

Come on now, don't be silly.
Why focus on the WUM-esque parts of my post, rather than the actual argument though? Don't have the courage to come out and admit the coverage of the match was poor?

That's how the footballing media would've seen that tackle if it were a foreign player tackling Milner, and the fact they've focused on Bobby's reaction like it's a strange thing to be pissed off about a cynical foul is also quite strange.

My point was, MOTD painted the match like a one-sided affair where United dominated for prolonged periods while our players were getting frustrated and defended for 90 minutes, which then also made Klopp's comments about us playing well seem like something out of a Hodgson press conference.
Then Phil Neville went on about how Lallana was the key to stopping Carrick, whom he also branded United's best/key player, even though his first name isn't Zlatan, neither is his last name Ibrahimovic, all the while providing zero proof for his "analysis", and showing clear lack of any knowledge of how we play football.

Weird how you didn't highlight that part of my post, nor try to address those points. Strange.

Lallana basically man marked Carrick when United had the ball during the first half...

I don't think it's fair to suggest there is a media bias against Liverpool though. We seem to be the ones that they all want to see win the league.

When you look at how Firmino's drink driving was glorified following his goal against Stoke and compare it to how Rooney was treated after being pictured following having a few drinks, it's hard to suggest that the treatment of Liverpool in the media is unfair.

That's because Rooney is Rooney and the general public don't even know who Firmino is. I do agree in general though, it was ridiculous the year Rodgers nearly won it.

Well done, you are like the real life Liverpool fans I discuss football with. There aren't very many of you out there but the ones that are, talk sense.

Unless United thump Liverpool 8-0, without any sort of controversial moments like red cards, offsides, disallowed goals or what have you, they are the moral winners. That's just how they think.

I was actually at Anfield earlier in the season and Liverpool were garbage for an hour, barely getting out of their own half. Yet, immediately after the game, the park the bus narrative is spread around social media like VD at the Grafton, and Liverpool have once again become the valiant, loveable David to United's evil, despotic Goliath.

All over my Facebook since the final whistle yesterday, it's been nonstop long ball crap from them. Soon as the long ball stats for this season were released this morning, it all went quiet.

We were shit, they were shit, but we should have won because we were at home and had the better chances. As a game, it was a 52-48 or 51-49 type of affair. A draw was a fair result, notwithstanding the moral victory that Liverpool always claim.

Klopp is a such a nasty cnut of a man. I'd like to join the long line of people wanting to kick him in the balls.

And this thread confirms my view that Liverpool fans are the worst set of human beings on the planet. Everything about the club is vile.

Lucky that the world's most expensive player dealt with defending a corner by spinning 180 degrees, shutting his eyes, putting his arms in the air and dabbing the ball all in a single movement. I agree, Pogba's brainfart is Liverpool's good fortune. I wouldn't argue with that for a second.

You're very odd.
