Jurgen Klopp and Dortmund

Confirms what i think about the fella. His class on the pitch is undisputed, his personality is something else.
Off topic, but his gf is also annoying as hell, should find himself another one ...

I'm not even so sure the quality of Mats Hummels on the pitch is still undisputed. His lack of speed and agility this season is incredibly worrying and then all of those mistakes.

Hope they win the CL. They've been excellent so far in a tough group. Now they have the Gundog back, Henrik M back, Reus back they'll be fine.

It's not even a tough group. I think more or less everyone, when the group was drawn, fully expected Dortmund to progress along with Arsenal in whichever order.

What i am saying for more than 2 years now. I thought he was awful against the italians in 2012 and hasn't really shown anything special ever since, at least not consistently. Whenever i watch him, i see him trying to do everything on his own, which looks to me as if he didn't trust his teammates. Him jogging leisurely back while his team is on the receiving end of a lethal counter attack was a common sight last season. What i meant is that he still is able to play spectularily good on occasions, he hasn't completely lost it, it seems more he lost a bit interest in playing for an "underdog" team. His choice of girlfriend would suit Real or PSG better, that is for sure.
Unless he gets his sh*t together, i hope Bayern doesn't go for him tbh. Slim chances of him considering this after the way Bayern treated his dad, anyway.

Yes, but I'd still hate it. Would like him at United next.
I think he's a good manager, just not the right fit for United post van Gaal assuming Louis van Gaal is successful. Somebody with similar footballing principles to that of Van Gaal would be a better fit

Good day, Mister Klopp. Are you collecting points? (you know those loyality points in supermarkets, I guess they exist everywhere on earth, no only in Germany). Klopp's answer: Only on Wednesday.

Well, you could include Tuesdays as well, they won again in a cup competition yesterday, which makes it 5 out of 5 midweek and well, not really a lot of wins on the weekends .

Been touted as Arsene Wnger's successor by Martin Samuel in the mail.

Most likely that's complete BS. Klopp has a contract until 2018 and neither Klopp nor Dortmund are likely to break it.

NVM I just read that article. Typicle stuff from a British journalist who knows nothing about German football but writes like he's itk.

It was just an opinion piece, not "informed" journalism from "sources" or any of that.

They really should start a petition that their games should be held of friday or thursday.

That article is one hilarious pile of shit. How can anyone start an article by saying Dortmund are becoming redundant and then come up with the idea that Arsenal are the club to move to, probably the most redundant 'big' club in the world in the past years with a team that's actually worse than Dortmund's. Being the 2nd biggest club in Germany and taking many great German talents from smaller clubs (they do it just as much as Bayern actually) is certainly a better perspective than being the 4th biggest English club, losing their players to United, Chelsea and City.

It's also funny how many people in England always talk about the loyality part when it comes to managers and that it's important to give them time to build and rebuild, yet the moment a manager in a different league has to do that, he's instantly called either shit or his job is called 'pointless' and suggested he has to move to the Premier League, where a job just as 'pointless' is glorified for no reason other than well being in England.

They're the ultimate CL team, aren't they?

2012-2013: won the group of death, and reached the final where they played a fairly even game against treble-winning Bayern.
2013-2014: won the group of death again, and barely lost to Real in the quarters, who in return won the CL pretty comfortably after that.
2014-2015(so far): 4 games, 12 points, 13 goals scored, only 1 conceded.

I think they can go all the way this year.

Unless they pick up form in the Bundesliga, they'll need to win the champions league to qualify for next season's competition.

Wouldn't the ultimate CL team actually win the trophy at least once?

Sack Klopp, sell Reus.

8 losses in 13 is simply staggering, regardless of injuries or whatever.

8 losses in 13, bottom of the Bundesliga. Job in danger?

Probably not. I don't know how sacking/hiring managers thing works in Bundesliga (as in, how much patient club boards are etc), nor do I know how it is at Dortmund in particular, but I think it is common sense to have him till the end of season because he can turn it around. I don't think he would lose players' confidence in him and also difficult to see Dortmund fans turning against him. He himself has made it tough though by talking about job in England etc. That's bound to cause uncertainty in players' minds.

It's exactly like it is in England, managers get sacked when they don't get results. Hamburg and Schalke already sacked their managers a few games into this season. With Klopp it's a different situation though because he's achieved so much with Dortmund over the years. I don't think it's the right decision to sack him anyway.
You mentioned him talking about England but he only said that he could imagine working there because English is his second best language, and that he focusses on Dortmund 100%. So basically it was just a nothing-story.

Bottom of the bundesliga after 13 games, that really is astonishing. 4 more games and it will be the halfway point in the league as there are only 18 teams. Sneaky bet on relegation? Surely it couldn't happen.

Considering that there could well be vacancies at any or all three of Liverpool, City and Arsenal at the end of this season, I hope to god they don't sack him. He's still a class manager, even with the horrific results he's having this season

Should have cashed in on his stock and moved to a bigger club when he had the offers. Unless Dortmund see a miraculous turnaround, this season will seriously dampen his reputation, injuries or otherwise.

Might be a nothing story but it got publicity and could have raised some doubts in Dortmund's players' mind. Bit of guess work on my part this. I hope he turns it around to get Dortmund in top 4 somehow. There can be no doubts that he leaves the club too and will not want to leave, if at all, with Dortmund in mid table/bottom half.

I really don't think it will. The clubs who'd have gone for him will still go for him.

Perhaps if it were tomorrow then yes nothing's changed and they'd still probably want him. Though assuming he stays at Dortmund till the end of the season and they finish atrociously, I can easily see some of these clubs having second thoughts on his caliber.

Football is a fickle business. You need to cash in when the opportunity arises. The reality is that he could well be manager of Manchester United right now. He isn't, he's bottom of the table with Dortmund instead.

I do think he'll turn it around, though. I don't follow the Bundesliga in any great way, but their squad is simply far too talented not to get out of this mess.

Not convinced that he can be a success in all situations frankly.

He is too rigid and lacks some adaptability at times.
