Jurgen Klopp and Dortmund

Jürgen Klopp will almost certainly be Germany's next manager.

I somehow doubt that Jaap.

I know a lot of people here want that but I think Klopp would be bored pretty fast in that role.

He is one of these guys who needs to be in action every week.

Maybe when he is a bit older in 10 to 20 years that might change but for now I can't see it happening any time soon.

If we don't win the champions league then I'd prefer Dortmund to win it over anyone else. Their work and progress over last few seasons have been tremendous and deserves wider recognition.

He recently said that he doesn't consider managing in England anymore - used to be his dream but it looks unlikely.

How does that relate to me saying that I don't think he is willing to take the national team manager job yet?

The thing is I can't see him quit Dortmund any time soon.

He build something good there, has people around him that trust him 100% and I think he values that a lot.

So I reckon 4 years from now he will still be at the helm of Borussia Dortmund and neither our national team nor a foreign club.

I also think he'll stay at Dortmund for much longer. Their teams is very young - amongst the youngest in Champions League, the core of that side is German and German players don't usually insist on moving abroad all that much. Götze, Gundogan, Reus, Hummels and Bender are there to stay.

He's got them playing fantastic football and every squad member looks comfortable on the ball. The way that they close down and win back was what I found most impressive last night.

I really wish United played with a similar tempo but maybe that has a lot to do with our aging squad, City didn't know how to deal with it. I've never seen Yaya Toure look so ineffective.

Toure looked so frustrated towards the end and I think he also picked up a knock or something like that because he was limping a little.

Silva and Agüero were basically the only players that gave Dortmund some trouble, both were great in the first half but somehow vanished during the second half like the rest of their team.

The funniest part for me was when they subbed Nasri, till he came off I didn't even realize he was on the field. ^^

Would be a fine replacement for Fergie.

I use the term "replacement" lightly though.

Dortmund are doing quite well to lead their CL group at the half way point. Night and day between their performance last season, which was quite poor for them.

Great to see the players handling the pressure better.

Said it about a billion times now, but Klopp is the guy I want to replace Fergie. No one else.

I'm pretty sure Klopp won't leave in the near future.

He already said he has no desire to go and apparently turned down Chelsea and Liverpool already.

He is still a fairly young manager and atm has a very good thing going at Dortmund.

I don't watch a lot of German football so I have a question for those who do.Does the Dortmund RB (can't write his name) play like on a regular basis ? I thought he was very good

Łukasz Piszczek, he's a starter.

Piszczek, yeah, he plays all the time. He's great.

 I didn't even write the question I wanted.
" Does he play like that on a regular basis ? " is more what I intended to ask

Yes again, hes very consistent, has very good stamina so gets up and down the pitch no problem, and has very good 1 touch passing and the ability to help down the wing.

If we didnt have Rafael i would choose him as our first choice.

Have to agree. He's the first Pole in my lifetime that I wouldn't mind seeing at Old Trafford. Defensively good and very efficient going forward. Keeps it simple and has a great attitude.

They've been quite average in the league so far. Injuries have really got to them.

Their squad isnt the best. With the injuries they had and the group they are in I'd say it's not a big surprise they are a bit struggling in the league.

Plus they lost their best player last summer :)

I like the high pressing from Dortmund and the fact that they outrun most opponents

They're probably the most entertaining side to watch, especialy if you're a fan of theirs as well :P.

This next part is the muppet inside me talking but damn, we could use Klopp, Gotze, Reus, Gundogan, and Hummels :D (one and/or the others).
It'll never happen but if we got our hands on some of them we'd be fecking beast like :D

They really are. They play exactly the type of football I love watching, and they play it almost to perfection. High intensity and pressure, and lightning quick (counter) attacking football. It's absolutely fantastic to watch!

For all their positives, their defense really lacks in concentration sometimes.

True, although in all honesty I don't know what to think about defenses anymore.
It's the same story with United, Chelsea, Real, Barca, City,...they're great teams, play good attacking football and can score against the best of them, however it seems like every (big) team's defense is their weakest link.
I don't know what to put it down to, I guess you could make a case for United since we're missing 3 CBs pretty much the whole season so far, but other than the fact that we're relatively still at the start of the season I don't know what could cause this.

In years past we've seen some defensively very stable teams, this season however it doesn't look like any team has a defense that's really "tough to crack", every team seems to be letting too many goals in.

They're really excellent to watch, absolutely lethal on the counter attack. It was actually interesting to see Madrid get a taste of their own medicine last night, ie, Dortmund killing Madrid on the counter the way Madrid usually do to other sides.

It's an impressive squad when you compare the relative cost of it to the big sides in which they are now strongly competing with.

klopp is doing a fantastic job.
