Jurgen Klopp and Dortmund

I would love that to happen as well. Especially since I think Klopp is one of these manager who actually likes staying at one club for a long time and build something really good.

Exactly, and he also seems like a great man manager, whenever I watch them it's just obvious when you see them that the players love him, something that others might not value as much as me, but that is a very important factor.

We learned a lot today seeing Dortmund play. Their attitude is worthy a mention; most teams, including us, go to Etihad and try to play a slower game with almost no pressure. Dortmund played like they always play. Fast, LOADS of pressure and no fear whatsoever. One can only hope that SAF took notice.

Haven't watched today's match but it's obvious that he's an excellent manager. Has managed to usurp Bayern as Germany's best team. Still only 45, could be a dark horse for the next United manager.

If Jürgen Klopp can replicate his domestic success on the European stage at Dortmund, I fancy him to be a dark horse for the job when Fergie calls it a day.
:)

Anyone seen that video of the new ball playing machine at Dortmund? Really impressive the way the press and work without the ball but yet have a brilliant passing game

Dortmund are awesome. I think they take the best bits of Barca's high pressing and play with even more pace.

Our midfield should aspire to play that way.

Yep, Klopp made an excellent choice switching from their normal 4-2-3-1 to a 4-5-1. Only fault was they had to move kuba inside and gotze to RM which nullified kubas natural speed threat but boy did city struggle to break them down.

Really think if we go 4-3-3 with carrick-Anderson-cleverley in the middle we will see us fair better

Our team would run out of steam in the 50th minute pressing that much. Their stamina is on a very high level.

They took random German league games off TV here and I used to watch them a fair bit as well as Stuttgart.

Bummer cause i've always loved the way they play and Kehl is a favorite of mine.

There is nothing to hate about the team and we already nicked Kagawa but

(1) One of Hummels or Subotic
(2) One of Bender or Gündogan
(3) And Gotze

would be nice addition to our squads. One each from defense, midfield and attack.

Didn't Kagawa say how surprised he was at how little United train without the ball?

They play the kind of football I love watching. Bit like what Bilbao did against us in the Europa League.

Is that the football they play week in and week out? The few times I have seen them, that isn't the case. But then my few times for me is a few minutes while changing channels during the PL games. I would watch them more if not for the nasally commentator and the wide camera angle used for telecasts.

I fail too see how that kind of high pressing, high energy football is possible every game, through out the season. Either you need to have a deep squad of similar quality or run the risk of a burnout midway through. I remember Bilbao were great in Europa but then would shit the bed for the LaLiga games.

For the last 2 seasons yes (except the CL). This season, they had a difficult start and their main problem was defending

The game that they play is very intense. For the last 2 seasons, they finished strongly but got kicked out of the CL early. Let's see how far they can go this time if they also progress in the CL or if they run out of steam

Not surprising at all. We are one of the least intense and pro-active teams off the ball right now. We expect teams to give the ball back rather than try to genuinely suffocate them and take it back ourselves.

They weren't in the CL last to least season if I am correct. Playing like that and excelling in two competitions would be a challenge.

They haven't spend much since basically they haven't had a lot of money these past years.

Last year was the first time they splashed some money on Reus but that was essentially the money they got for Kagawa.

I'll have a look at their net spend and post it here.

I was under the impression they ran a very tight ship financially. Huge average attendance every week. Presumed that they were sitting on some money...

Last season they were yes. But being kicked out helped them to keep up their form in the League

They were a joy to watch yesterday to be fair. Didn't always have possession but when they got the ball they used it bloody well thats for sure.

Gotta love hows Klopp has set them up, they play some fantastic stuff. I hope to Jesus he's in with a shout when Sir Frogie retires, he could be an excellent replacement and he seems to like to stay put at a club for longer than 3 years.

Klopp rules out Premier League move

Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a move to England, claiming that the Bundesliga is the most competitive and attractive league in Europe.

Klopp, whose Borussia Dortmund side impressed in their 1-1 Champions League draw with Manchester City, was believed to have been a target for Liverpool before they appointed Brendan Rodgers in the summer.

The German had previously revealed an interest in managing in the Premier League, but this is no longer the case. He told Bild: "I think the paradise of football is actually the German Bundesliga.

"We have the most competitive and the most attractive league in Europe. It's the league with the tightest competition and with the best stadiums. The fans are great.

"Of course, England may be close to this. But that I am still dreaming about managing in England, this issue is over. That was something I was after when I started being a manager in the game."

Yeah, it makes sense. Not a lot of compelling reasons for Klopp to leave Dortmund much less the Bundesliga - very few downsides
