Julen Lopetegui watch

You've got to be kidding. Any midtable-EuropaLeague-4th/3rd spot club will be after him this next May.

I was referring to major clubs. Sorry, should had been more specific.

But he will clearly go under the radar after this. Failed at Porto despite having a lot of transfer funds at disposal (for the portuguese league reality, of course), and now Madrid.

Yeah, he could be considered as the Spanish Moyes. The difference is that he did well with Spain (NT). I still think he could land in teams like OM, Lyon, Valencia, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Celtic, Napoli, Lazio, Feyenoord, Spurs, etc.

A lot of blame to go around in Sevilla. The much vaunted Monchi has not been very good on the transfer front lately

this summer has been a disaster, but there was a long build up of questionable transfer. Lopetegui had a big say in some of them, while he frequently also refused to use players he didn't fancy. He should have been sacked at the end of last season when the wheels came off. Monchi was way too committed to him. He rather fudged one transfer after another instead of booting the manager.

His career seems to be going in the reverse direction. Spain -> Real Madrid -> Sevilla -> Wolves -> Salford City?

They hire the most boring coaches don't they? Seville gave finishd top 4 for 3 seasons and scored 53, 53 and 54 goals in those seasons

The standard of managers is ridiculous in the league. When you have managers like Lopetegui and Emery at Villa and Wolves, tells it all. Both really good managers going to midtable clubs.

Another Jorge Mendes client. They’re such a predictably boring club

Of course he doesn't take charge until after the Arsenal game

All these teams playing poor and then they hire good managers before we play against them ffs.

On more positive note: great to see another solid coach coming to Premier League.

What a horrible horrible prick. Could do without seeing him twice a season

You can tell he regretted the turtleneck, he was obviously freezing his ball sack off

Awful manager, Sevilla were the least watchable side in Europe last season under him too.

No matter how his career turns out with us, Malacia forever earned a place in my good books when his clearance hit this prick in the head.
