Jude Bellingham | Real Madrid player

We all know RM fans are a bit special, so it's no wonder.

For once Madrid do the right thing and rebuild their midfield in 2 seasons and people start complaining.
They need some full backs, a striker and a 10 and that team looks strong as hell.

I am glad we missed him, considering every BvB player we got was utter disappointment with huge payment and wages.

Seems cheap. Cheers Madrid, might have helped us with price in getting mount.

Imagine having Casemiro, Kroos and Modric for the best part of a decade winning the lot and then transition that into Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Bellingham etc. It takes us years to replace an individual let alone multiple.

We've been pretty lucky that Modric and Kroos kept some quality even in their late years. There was a batch of midfielders in between these two groups (Ceballos, Odegaard, Kovacic) that didn't quite work out for various reasons.

Never want us to sign another Dortmund player. If we were truly interested, then i'm glad we missed out.

You know we tried really hard to sign him - to the point of rolling out Ferguson - before his spell at Dortmund, right?

He's a quality player and the club thinks so and it isn't based of his time at Dortmund alone, evidently

It's still quite a big downgrade, but any midfield would be, to be honest.

On paper, it looks great, but there are still question marks over whether they're able to function properly together, and that's no guarantee considering they share similar qualities.
Casemiro, Modric and Kroos worked brilliantly because they had pretty much every quality needed for a top midfielder, and they were some of the best midfielders of this generation.

All they need is mbappe and they will be collecting UCL trophies for fun again. Meanwhile, glazers..:mad:.

I know we were interested before he left Birmingham. He could've said no to us twice at this point. I'm not bothered that he has signed for Madrid. Good luck to him. All i was pointing is what we all know. Our signings from Dortmund haven't worked out. Not even sure what Bellinghams best position is either.

They're still pretty young.

o.0

Even one of those would transform our team.

You simply sign the wrong ones. Others work our quite well: Lewandowski, Gündogan, Akanji, Hummels, Haaland...

That could actually be true. I doubt he'd have the same hype around him if he wasn't English. Then again, he probably has more hype around him than even Sancho.

What do you mean.

Generally french, brazilian, spanish, and argentinian players are rated higher than english ones, and carry more hype.

Imagine how much higher he would be rated if his name Sanchinho or Sanché, or Sánchez.

Hey Jude hashtag is dead. Don't use it again!

Doesn’t really work like that tbh. We got Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema but it wasn’t until 2014 for a CL win.

We had one of the greatest midfield in history, combined with one of the best attacks. And a defense of Marcelo, Ramos, Varane and Carvajal. The weakest link in that team was Navas, prone to messing up at times.

I don’t believe our current squad is anywhere near that 2016-2017 team.

Perez should invest in a time machine to get back the years. This new lot simply isn’t as talented and good.

Bellingham will be playing for one of the average PL sides (First Spurs and then to Aston Villa/Brighton etc) in few years time after fall out from the fans and frozen out of the first XI - The Madrid way.

I think it's the combination of buying wrong as well as United making players look worse than they actually are .

I hope he absolutely smashes it out of the park and then more big clubs around Europe buy British players because of it.

He's a proper talent and with them having Valverde, Tchouameni and Camavinga that's one heck of a midfield for the next decade or so.

That's it right there. You didn't get stuck in and continue to try and get the most out of players that ultimately were not good enough. Something United has not been able to do because Woodward & Glazers

I think Bellingham is a genuinely excellent player, both technically and on the mental side, but I'll be interested to see how it all fits together in that midfield once Modric/Kroos are phased out. Between Bellingham, Camavinga, Tchouameni and Valverde they don't seem to have a natural playmaker. Of course, most of these players are young enough that we haven't necessarily seen their final version, but it'll be interesting to see how it all works.

I don't think they carry more hype, there just have been more extraordinary talents from those countries before the current golden generation of English talents emerged. As good as Bellingham is, I haven't seen a player as overhyped as him in the Bundesliga. But it's probably not just his nationality but also his player type and personality. He just ticks all the boxes in many fans' perspectives.

Dont read too much into the moaning from Madrid fans. They voted Modric as the worst transfer in his first year. They arent were bright to begin with....

Came across very well in the presentation today. The Madrid press liked him.

Number 5 as an attacking player. Absolutely criminal. For that alone, I hope he's a massive flop.

Yes I realize Zidane wore 5 at Madrid - still inexcusable.

I liked him too. Speaking, he looks older than he is. Polite and explaining well why he chose Madrid. He even had a few words for Vallejo for giving him the number 5.
A pity he couldn't have a presentation at the Bernabéu.

What a god awful take. I can understand being hesistant about getting players who tear it up in the german league. However, this guy at the age of 19 has been England's best player in most games he plays in. He's playing the hardest position in football and is a born leader. He's literally a generational talent akin to when Rooney burst on to the scene, but because it's in a less glamorous position the average football fan doesn't seem to take note. Real Madrid don't buy just anyone and they certainly don't pay Mbappe money for players that aren't world class.

Agree. I don't understand why they didn't find a way to give him the 22. Something special about a player making a number "his"

It’s a Perez thing. Zidane was his favourite. I think Bellingham will be a massive success at Madrid.
