Juan Mata - A Common Goal | Man Utd Women manager Casey Stoney joins

Shouting (ALL CAPS)
As do I. He is my favourite player. Classy and elegant to watch and a proper nice guy to boot.

If he retires at United, he will go down as a legend in my book. Those two goals against Liverpool will live on forever. All he needs now is a Premier League and a Champions League. I believe he can contribute massively to those targets.

We need squad depth but unfortunately I fear for his future at United with the arrival of Sanchez. Hopefully he won’t leave but if he does, I can see him ending up at a team like Atletico or Valencia. Maybe Barcelona would take a punt on him as a squad player. Either way, I hope he signs a big extension. He deserves it.

Blimey. Juan Mata. A United legend. Unbelievable. Generation Snowflake is in full effect.

THE GUY NEEDS TO LEAVE, GO PLAY EUROPA LEAGUE FOOTIE VIA LA LIGA.

Lovely guy, but he isn't what United need, and never was a United player. No guts. No leadership. Few Goals. No power. United aren't some flaming charity ffs.

Why all the hate? His Common Goal project is for the greater good and it also gives United some commercial value. I fully support him and his cause.

I think his cause is interesting, and very laudable. No hate there.

I am interested in Juan Mata the player. He has secured his role as FIFA President. Now let's see if he can score 10 Prem goals this campaign eh?

Why not take the bile directed towards him and his performances to the Juan Mata performance thread then?

I think he's still a good player, with a lot to offer. Maybe not a starter next season, but we need depth in our team squad if we're competing in four different competitions.

I know mods want to bad offensive words but idiocy like this also needs removing. What a dumb term.

Not sure mata will be a united legend but this generation snowflake shit. Sad. Amazing what tripe you see people regurgitate online.

I think we need to start a Juan Mata niceness thread as well. Great ambassador for the club!

Mata has got a superior heart and brain to most players and most fans - a fantastic man indeed.

He's bigger as a man than any player in the league even though he's about 5'2. As a player he goes missing a hell of a lot but when he's on form he's a joy to watch.

Gotta say Mata just seems like a genuinely lovely guy. Good player if not a great, but he's the one United player I have never and can never find a bad word about. His charity is brilliant, his behavior and personality top notch. Sometimes I think the only reason he never made it to David Silva like levels is because he's too nice of a fella, even on the pitch.

If football had more Mata's maybe it wouldn't be the mercenary tantrum throwing shit fest it is today.

Would love to see some City players get on this. Would also be great to see a real world superstar to really make it a big deal. Imagine the coverage if a Ronaldo or Messi got behind it.

The reason he didn’t hit Silva’s level is because he is just too slow, he can’t get away from players. It is a testament to his technical ability and determination that he made it so far with zero physical attributes. He is the slowest and weakest player on the pitch in nearly every game he plays.

Ridiculous post. Mata may be a little bit light weight but he's a class player. Also (more relevant to this thread) he's one of the most likeable guys in football who is contributing towards as positive cause.

You'd probably be the type of guy to criticise all the money being made in football. To criticise someone who is trying to give some money and time back to good causes is beyond cynical.

And you mate what do you contribute to Utd and these forums ? You don't deserve to be a Utd supporter - No brain, No class, simply a trolling prick..

I think a voluntary 1% tax rate is something Trump would agree with.

Not sure I agree he should be going to the WEF but nothing wrong with his intentions, I've actually started donating 1% of my salary to a charity because of him.

You do realise this is specifically a thread for his “very laudable cause” right? And that there’s a completely separate Performance thread you can be an arse in instead?

I went to the Common Goal website which led me to the StreetFootball website and neither website has a link detailing their finances. I like to know how much of every dollar actually goes to charity before I donate. Most national charitable foundations in the US average around 15 cents or worse to the dollar. This means if you give $100, about $15 or less actually goes to helping others. The other $85 is spent on salary (including some high salaries) and other expenses. You can ask this question the next time you get a telephone call for a donation and in the US, by law, they are supposed to know the answer.

I try to donate to only local charities like our food bank, local salvation army, local fundraisers, etc... because I know my donation gets more bang for the buck. I would urge others and professional football players to consider donating locally before considering large charities like these that are not transparent with their finances.

I'm sorry I had to be the skeptic here, but you should know how charities really work.

Bravo. Hopefully more teams will follow.

Well done that club. Juan will hopefully be an ambassador for United once he's retired.

Shame none of his team mates are signed up..

Jesus, there is a thread for you to discuss his performances and what not.

This thread is about his charity. Painting yourself in a great light by the way.

Intelligent man trying to put his fame to good use. We need more, many more like him. Respect!

1% of our gate & match day income could be over a million/year. :D

It'll be interesting to see what he does once he has retired.

Not a single Man Utd player is part of common goal (other than Mata of course) bit weird..
