Joshua Zirkzee (Out)

That’s the benefit for the player and a benefit for the future . My question was what is the benefit for us as a club now? We need cash now and this does not help

Why do we need cash now? We need cash in the summer.

Great stuff. People slag the new regime off but you can see we're at least trying to do things much quicker than in the past.

If we're going to be taking 'cheap' punts then we need to be ready to move them on quickly and roll the dice, before the likes of Lindelof end up in our list of top appearances.

You say that but if Liverpool had signed him he would have no doubt fit like a glove. Always the way.
Like Darwin? Or Gakpo? Last season a lot of Pool fans had given up with him.

Easier to slot into a good team with a spine of VVD, Salah and Allison obviously. That's why Fergie could play Cleverley and Gibson etc.

Heh

All signs pointed to an interesting punt who should have worked in EthHs system given a bit of time, I think the whole fallout is down to him leaving tbh. Not an Amorim type of striker and his confidence is in the toilet, I would fully expect Motta to get him firing again back in a League that suits his style of play. As long as we recoup a net 0 on the FFP balance sheet at the end of it all (so say a £30mil fee + a modest loan fee in Jan) then I am not too fussed.

Exactly like the above. Gakpo in particular is having a very decent season. He'd look absolutely useless here.

Agreed, of course. However, we have had some very good players here over the last decade and it simply hasn't worked.

We don't know what's happening in the background. Maybe a youth will be given a chance, or we're looking to get someone in on-loan. It might also benefit the dressing room to see that if you're not good enough you're out.

Put it this way, what's the benefit in retaining him for the rest of the season and see his value plummet further?

Gets him off the wage bill short term and playing in a league where he did well might rebuild his reputation so that any future sale might get you your money back.

Our squad is gutted as it is and no players coming in the winter unless we sell. See no reason to loan him out.

This is a very interesting hill to die on. He's clearly not capable of playing in the PL and someone wants to take him on loan with an option to buy. If they pay his wages we might be able to loan someone more useful.

Him being on the pitch the last couple of games did us more harm than good. He is not cut out for the PL and we'd be better off promoting someone from the academy.

He won’t be leaving unless it’s assisting our FFP - the club have zero wiggle room left.
I doubt anyone will cover the remuneration and wages so he’s staying - just like the rest of our overpaid donkeys

The way victims see the world anyway
You disagree? Everything we touch turns to shit. For them, quite the opposite. Zirkzee may have been a rare case and a Naby Keita, Minamino style flop, though I wouldn't have been surprised in the slightest if at the very least he would have been decent for them.

It's hard to put Obi Martin on the bench and leave out Zirkzee. We have a lot of players filling the bench like this

Its not like he is on £300k per week. I am sure Juventus can cover his wages.

Feel for the guy, if the story is true. Sorry it turned out this way and wish him the best in Italy.

This would be a great outcome for him. Juventus are 6th, not 14th like us. Cant see him playing over any of their attackers but he might make it as a backup

Possibly another one added to INEOS' list of bad decisions that they have subsequently acted quickly on. As a one off it's fine but it looks like this is the third high profile move they have made which has quickly gone wrong.

Acting quickly is good but if you're making mistakes regularly, the initial judgement is where the issue lies.

A Loan? Why would we agree to that??
We save on his wages while he can rebuild his reputation and transfer value in a league where he has previously performed at a high level. Keeping him here on full wages for 4 more years like the previous regime would have done would just destroy his career and we would loose a lot of money.

Well they've got a drilled, functional team, of course he'd be more effective. But there's no higher power making United shit. We've just signed poorly and inconsistently. Sign the right people, give them the right coach and he'd have been decent here too

Our options in attack are so limited, that I'm not even sure it would be wise to loan him out in January, unless we can bring in someone more qualified. Being down to just Højlund for the striker position would be a disaster waiting to happen.

But if we have someone lined up to bring in, a loan with a buy option sounds good.

That’s not a bad shout if they are both valued roughly the same. Only thing is I believe he’s injured?

Just returning. But not leaving. Motta: "I have great hopes and beliefs in him. He has been out for a long time. He certainly doesn't have the physical level of some of his teammates. As a midfielder he can do everything. In a previous team, they played with two in front of the defence. He has shown that he is a complete midfielder, of a high level."

Hope it's true and good luck to him. Atrocious signing in all honesty. No attributes that are important in the PL. No pace, strength, agility or acceleration.

He could still do a job in the EL. Unless they pay all his wages and we loan a different player this deal does nothing for us

Compare him with someone like Foden, Odergard, Palmer, Madison, Bruno and he's miles away from what we need. Wish him the best, seems like a good lad. We need players comfortable in possession and who can drive forward with the ball. This lad simply ain't it.

The new footballing setup we have has taken a hit here. Big money spent and fecked off on loan within 6 months is a bad look.

We really aren’t in a position to be getting these types of deals wrong

Believe this runour you'll believe anything. United are a club looking to raise fund to bring in players. Yet we actually have people belelieving incurring an immediate fimaci loss on a player bought less than 6 months ago would be remotely entertained.

Ashworth was sacked in a loss-making exercise months into his job.

If I'm reading this right it's not an "option" but an obligation IF Juve make the CL. Currently off by a few points because they are a drawing machine.

Makes sense that we could possibly get our money back if he turns those draws into wins, while we would most likely take a hit if we want him bought and off the books now.

I get the feeling he was never that keen on joining in the first place, seemed more interested in the Milan move which fell through because of his agent's demands.
