Joshua Zirkzee (out)

Yeah, i dont think he makes much sense in this formation really. I think he hasn't had enough time to figure it out either though. He feels a bit like a player that goes to Brentford or Bournmouth to me and look crap for a year to 18 months before becoming a completely unplayable, nightmare to deal with.
If selling him was financing a move for Isak or someone i'd get it. In the mean time the striker market is lean and i think he has enough good qualities that he could become a decent striker for us. Just not particularly quickly.

I get you. Unfortunately we don't have the time to develop two super raw strikers. One of them simply has to make way and at this moment in time Hojilund has proven far more. Zirkzee hasn't had that amount of time obviously, but he's had enough time for fans to see what kind of player he is, and traits he posseses. Personally I just dislike his slow, languid, almost clumsy style and think you need an immense amount of talent to back it up.

Whether Zirkzee stays or goes, I don’t want us anywhere near Vlahovic - he’s way too slow and immobile and we already lack pace in transition.

I can get over the style because he clearly isn't that clumsy. I have very little patience for the slow, languid pressing but he seems to get results and make it work often enough to suggest he's not that ineffective and theres something to work with at least.
One of Hojlund and Zirkzee are going to get pushed out of the squad ultimately. I just dont see the player who does it at this point in time. Even in the situation where he gets bumped down to 3rd choice i can still see him being useful to be honest. Because you'd expect him to be a good foil for the more traditional goalscorer that everyone wants.

Vlahovic is on silly salary and quite frankly he's shit. I'd love to see Juventus being bled with his monstrous contract till the very end

Surely we should be looking at a swap deal for Douglas Luiz instead?

Juventus and loan deals just go hand in hand.
They seem to have a ton of players both on loan and out on loan all the time.

Loan obligation offers, 4 year loan, no money up front, they pay all his wages and maybe at the end of it they can have a 5m for him.

What's Luiz like as a midfielder? Good backup for Ugarte?
No, more box to box, arriving late in the area, scoring goals and being a smart passer. A bit shit defensively. You'd play him with a conservative midfielder besides him.

Didn't Juventus make a big thing of signing him and Lehmann together though? Can you sign one without going to bat for the other, and would that work for us?

Sir Jim suddenly spotted attending women’s games

Press talk of a loan deal. Im sick to death of loan deals. We have made it impossible to sell players by giving them ridiculous wages.
Our transfers have been a mess for years. Anthony tops the most expensive flop of the decade list.

So what should we do?

He can't throw in the towel yet! if the departure rumours are coming from the players side....c'mon Zirkzee show a bit of fight.

Does a loan deal help us bring someone new in? If not, just don’t do it, and sell him in the summer instead. I don’t rate Zirkee at all (obviously) but unless we bring in a new striker, he still have some value as a sub/rotation player just for the extra legs. Imagine we loan him out without a replacement and Højlund gets an injury.

Feels more like we are looking to get Rashford out on loan and Kolo-Muani in on a similar type deal whilst keeping him but could be wrong
