  • Can't believe he's going into a new season with only TFM, Valencia and some new lad at right back
  • We've signed a 46 year old from stoke so that our young keeper can play some football club is a shambles
  • God damn it Sanchez you're killing the greatest left winger we've ever seen.
My point is we've all wanted a fabinho or a Douglas Costa, even a kerlon, Freddy adu or Ricky van wolfswinkel.
You can't sign everyone and some end up being fairly good but more of the 8,000 players we are linked with have turned out to be dross.
Have to trust that the lads the club pays to scout footballers and work on deals know more about these things than us.

So I hope nobody in here ends up crying and punching their pillow on the couch on August 9th

well we do have Dalot who apparently is the best young Full back in europe. And can't Bailly and Lindelof and Rojo play at full back and we have Fosu mensah?

I agree. You would think that we were struggling for relegation last season. People want too many players in and out everytime. Pretty sure this delusion comes from FM.

And for some reason, buying anyone older than 26-27 is apparently the worst thing to happen ever. Again, reeks of FM mentality.

The standards at Manchester United does not require good. It is about being the best. Ashley Young was regularly caught out of position severally last year and also had that tendency to annoyingly overhit crosses. What's more? He is in his mid-thirties. He is simply not good enough for us.

How can you say you are not concerned about Valencia regularly hitting the shins of opposing full-backs and breaking down a lot of our attacks?

Both of them are useless and should have been phased out 2 years ago.

He's a prospect he won't be thrown into action. TFM is just a prospect too. And playing with makeshift fullbacks like Lindelof and Bailly is never a good idea.
 
Bailly actually looked very good at RB away to Palace I believe it was. Not sure whether it was last season or 16/17, but I remember him looking dangerous going forward.

thanks . So none of them can play full back and neither can Shaw or Valencia or Young ? I don't expect Bailly or Rojo or Lindelof to start at FB but we do have cover Shaw / young Valencia / Dalot as starters . I personally would rather spend money else where like RW Etc.

Have you deliberately ignored the bit about 2 promising young full backs? One of which we spent a lot of money on this summer?

Also, I'm not saying we couldn't do better because of course we could. I'm saying it wouldn't be my priority and I can understand why it wouldn't be Mourinho's.

I'm 100% not trolling and I apologise if you feel I Was but I expect our fullback this year to be Shaw/Young And Valencia / Dalot . If we have an injury Crisis yes it is risky but the players Mentioned could cover . Jose seems to be comfortable with this as he said he's not looking for Fullbacks, would I like Top class fullbacks absolutely just don't think it is going to happen this year .

There seem to be people hinting that Dalot will be a starter either at LB or RB. Jose rates him highly and so he should because he is the best young RB in world football or at least touted as that. But you would never no that reading this forum. Aside from FB's Fred is a fantastic signing with a number of clubs after him, the same melts who moan on here would have had another hissy fit if city managed to get him but we swung it our way. I guarantee you if madrid, city, spurs, pool got any one of them there would be an epic meltdown on here "why can't we sign players like that" especially with Dalot "he is a highly rated talent why can't we be in for him, we are clueless we will end up spending £3090940394039049 on a 40 year old. Nah we spent £17M on the hottest talent but let's just go with "He has only played blah blah games". On the one hand, we want the brightest most talented young talent but want them to have played enough games that a 25-year-old has played.

Hers another classic somebody reminded me of these types of melts. "They want Martial to stay, youth like Chong to get minutes along with TFM but then they also want big money signings which would basically render the former impossible!"

Yeh lets sign lots of WC senior players, pay their wages and I am sure they will be happy while we play half the youth squad. But don't expect us to accept the consequences of such an ingenious plan it should "just work"

The club officially dropping hints at a big secret which can only be a signing or the biggest PR disaster to date. We already are a better team than last season with just these 2 signings without the 2 being rumoured to come in or desired to come in.

If you haven't read any of the things I mentioned above I don't think you're reading the forum right, best with the old negativity blinkers off.

This is my last allowed post of the day and I wanted to use it to congratulate you for dissecting my post to perfection.

It was a ploy to appeal to the Everyman and make some friends in a new environment, before ultimatly shutting everyone up on my first day at camp.

Sadly I've been rumbled on the somewhat oxymoronic grounds of both a lack of evidence and stating the obvious.
Three more swings at it tomorrow I guess, I'll get up nice and early.

I would love to say it is a big signing because it would be a stupid publicity stunt if it was not. Zlatan joined our training camp to greet Jose and the players and he recorded a message along the lines of "Jose has something special coming but we will keep it a secret". Then later on the official club website posted their own message saying the same thing.

I agree. Watching Meunier for Belgium was such a reminder of what a quality FB looks like. Valencia is far past his best-by date. Fantastic attitude and a real trooper, but I think he's done (more so than Young, in my opinion.)
