Jose Mourinho | Sacked by Roma

Aye, Italians in general are also not as demanding of “free flowing attacking football” as some other nations are which makes a big difference to how Mourinho is perceived.
It might be a third rate European trophy to us Manchester United fans but it wasn’t to Roma fans which is why thousands of them lined the street for a parade to celebrate it. It’s a big deal to them as is reaching two European finals compared to a manager who didn’t.
Previous managers departure wasn’t that straight forward either . New owners, think his contract was up too. So it was more a change of direction. And they’re clearly very happy with the direction Mourinho has them in despite what a lot in this thread post and that was my underlying point rwally
And this is the only thing that counts - how he is perceived by Roma fans, and it's crystal clear their opinion on how Jose is doing in Rome is very much different from United fans who hate Jose with passion and who don't give a feck about Roma or Serie A. Although it is very funny to see people so blinded by their hatred for the man that they are convinced they know better than Roma supporters if Jose is appreciated or not.

More like we couldn't give a flying feck what Roma fans think of him.

We're confident he did a bad job at United, are well rid of him and have seen nothing in what he's achieved at Roma to make us question the club's decision to sack the miserable twat.

How Roma fans feel about him has absolutely no bearing on any of the above. If times get dark enough for a club, even the most terrible choice of manager can seem like the fecking messiah. Which United fans well know, having gone through the misguided excitement and happiness of watching Ole take over from this bloke.

It also happens to be the only club he didn't win anything at, which you know, is very Spursy in itself ;)

Sevilla never lose Europa finals.

Can Jose pull it off yet again?

WTF the final is tomorrow?!

They really need to stop playing these finals on Wednesdays if they want the competition to be taken seriously.

Italy and Spain have a full matchday this weekend. So, the Europa League final and the Europa Conference League final are both on Wednesdays. The CL final is on a Saturday, after everything else is finished.

Mourinho never loses European finals (5 wins out of 5). I think this game will have an eternal penalty shootout.

Definitely Spursy considering there was an excellent chance he would have shithoused his way to the trophy but for some bizarre reason Levy decided to give it to the YTS trainee instead.

Probably something in the contract guaranteeing Jose more money if he won a trophy. Even if not, it was a slimy way to go about it from Levy for sure.

Not arsed about Mourinho but Smalling got that winner against City a few years back that stopped them winning the league against us. He will always have some affection for that. Also, Sevilla are absolute fecking cnuts.

So come on, AS Smalling.

From my random sampling of the city, Roma will basically have home advantage tonight. Ten Roma shirts for a single Sevilla one.

Hard to call. Jose's pedigree in finals, and the pressure of UCL football against a side that knocked out Man Utd (Decent performance in cup competitions this season, winning one, knocking out Barcelona and a finalist) and Juventus (despite turbulent season would've finished 2nd without the point deduction)

What will his acolytes say now?

His teams literally refuse to play football.

A complete dinosaur of a manager.

Jose tomorrow morning

Fair play to Sevilla, they were superior to the likes of Man Utd, Juventus and now Roma.

Season three coming up then with Mourinho brewing all summer....

Get the popcorn ready.

He bet the whole season on this game.

They were in a pretty good position to actually finish top 4 a few weeks back. Didn't beat Monza, Salernitania and lost from 1-0 up with 5 minutes left v Fiorentina at the weekend.

Jose's teams don't win penalty shootouts often, do they? Lost to Liverpool in 2007, lost to Bayern in 2012, now.. Also lost with United to Lampard's Derby but that was less important one.

They'll all be in here in a minute to defend him anyway don't worry. Absolutely delighted the cnut lost.

If they won that game, they would have been screaming 'masterclass' in here.

Absolutely appalling style of football.

I am sure he would have had a dig at us if he had managed to beat Sevilla. Respect, respect, heritage.

His teams never look the most fit or athletic physically- i've noticed that since during the United days. Lots of his players get injured, the pressing isn't great, although the organisation can be superb.

Will be off for a new challenge in the summer. Wonder how Roma fans will feel about his legacy? Two European finals, one won (a huge deal for them), one lost but no progression in terms of league finishes I believe. Not sure what their budget/net spend has been.

The commentator of the broadcast I was watching said he lost 7 or 8 out of 10 in his career.

Smalling was immense. Shame they lost to that group of wankers. Telles included.
