They will have play-off for EL. Only when the competitions starts, there will be no drop-down as before (all details available on uefa.com).

Not sure I like it to be honest, depends on which way of looking at it.
It's putting those 4 teams who were not Champions of their country straight into the Europa without having to play off having failed in the CL at the 3rd qualifying round. Then you get all the losers of the play off round themselves.
Meanwhile teams who lost from the Champions path, who were domestic champions are having to still playoff for the Europa.
Good because realistically you get a stronger Europa League. Bad because more Champions of smaller nations end up a step below in the Conference League. Could say it's priortising the rich, famous leagues too much and only helps them maintain the gap.
