Early days but I think the Ibrahimovic + Lukaku issue is going to feck us up tactically speaking. Don’t think the two can ever fit into one side and there’ll be a lot of tossing and turning in styles to try and do so. Main victim is almost certainly going to be Martial who really should be the one we make the team around

The second half tactics were embarrassing. Tried to nick a goal but was happy with a point.
Typical eyes wide shut comment. I've been watching the game very carefully. I've been seeing how Matic was instructed to not press the oppo's ball carrier, how our fullbacks were instructed to stay back, how Martial was taken off. Don't care about missed chances. I care about the negative football being passed onto the players in the second half. Have you watched the game??
Before people overreact I'd just like to remind everyone that we had 4 wins in our first 4 games in the group and those were our first points dropped.

This is not a knee jerk or anything but I am really getting fed up with his tactics and persistence with shit players. Blind has been shocking for a very long time, yet again he is given a chance ahead of youngsters / shaw.

He can be blamed for the totally passive second half.
Won't blame him today. First half we should have scored 3 or 4 and then our midfielders decide to stop track back and play like donkeys. Darmian and blind should be ashamed of such performance. Hopefully we ship out the italian clown soon.

We were good for 60 minutes and created a bucket load of chances. Basel, who arent a bad team by any measure, came at us and nicked the win. Honestly, we should have been 3-0 up at half time but for poor finishing from two of the three named above. We hit the woodwork twice, Martial could have had two as well. We were poor in the last 30 but people are so fickle and the same lot are literally hoping for something to go wrong to emphasise their biased bullshit.

Basically relying on pogba to bail us out match after match. Coach some fast penitratring attacking! Don't just play for the draw. Make some positive substitutions. We've been horrible today and it's pretty clear that our squad players aren't really up to the job. They offer nothing of note, just making up numbers on fat contracts. Let the youth play if you're only really looking for a draw. What does playing darmian or blind achieve? Put lukaku out on the wing? Himself and Ibra are going to be shite together and if they aren't I'll eat my hat. Who makes these decisions? It all just still seems so aimless....
I've backed Jose the whole way through but if his plan is just
Pogba then he should be ashamed with the resources he has at his disposal. I hate this negative play for a draw football. What a waste of an evening sitting watching that. No more than we deserve. He played for the draw with his subs and had his pants pulled down. The better teams will pick us off 1/2 - 0 if that's our definition of keeping it tight and snatching one at the other end.

Simple fact. Our best player came off for Matic and Ibrahimovic was practically in midfield he was playing that deep.

We got punished for not taking easy chances. Lukaku particularly missed a 1v1. I dunno what you expect Jose to do if Lukaku can’t score easy chances that even a retired Yakubu could score with his eyes closed.
We have it all to do on matchday 6.
People think zlatan would improve us. But, I think he will make us worse somehow if we insist playing him and lukaku at the same time.

Not giving Tuanzebe and Shaw any chance to impress. Darmian and Blind had been very poor since the start of this season.

What a shit post. So fecking tiresome. What about the first 60 minutes where we created several chances? Again, did you watch the match or just the last 20-25 minutes? We have so many games coming up, we went for it at the beginning and decided we didnt need to push too hard as were close to qualification anyway. But, go on, harp on about your anti-Mourinho garbage.

So many reactionary posts. We played really well in the first half, had 4-5 fantastic chances. We paid for not capitalising on those in the second half. They pushed up more in the second half and we naturally sat back deeper. There were obvious deficiencies in the team, namely full backs and Lingard. However, what do people want Mourinho to do? Play all his best players week in week out even in matches which have little resting on them? We won the first 4 matches and will most probably top the group. If he doesn't rest players then people will moan about poor squad rotation.
