Jorginho

Strange if Chelsea get him. They are drowning in midfielders.

I guess it makes sense given their current situation - sense just isn't present.

Rumors are that PSG are after Kante. Also, they never replaced Matic very well. Doubt they'll want to have Bakayoko leading their title charge.

If they are getting Sarri then Jorginho makes perfect sense for them.

They have quantity not quality. Pogba, matic and Herrera would stroll into chelsea midfield to play alongside Kante .

So one more player choosing money over Pep.

I think within the interview he also stated that he wants to live in London and not Manchester which was a decisive factor.

Unreal that we are going to get him though, him and kante in the middle

Unfortunate for City that Jorginho wanted to be paid.

Big loss for City they’ve been chasing him all summer. I also think City dropped out on Fred because they thought Jorginho was a cert.

Losing out on another midfielder they have chased all summer, but its ok they've just added their 20th attacker.

I’m sorry with Manchester City because we reached an agreement for Jorginho 15 days ago. But Chelsea is going to offer more to Napoli and to Jorginho for his contract, so he’ll join Chelsea I guess”

...

Jorginho next to Kante looks potentially like a top midfield.

If Sarri is able to make Chelsea play like Napoli, and they sign a quality striker, then they could compete for the league.

Pep v Money Bluemoon edition;

‘Ah well if thats to be believed then another fecker who`s only interested in money.’

‘if he does go Chelsea it would seem his career is just a job for him ,that would be the only reason’

‘Anyone coming to the Prem who we shown an interest in and goes elsewhere must be mental.’

‘Feck him, his agent has been saying all along it's City and wants to play for Pep now the rentboys have elbowed in and he's seen the $ signs’

His career is just a job really tickled me. He should play for Pep for free.

I wasn't saying the location was the only reason? We are willing to pay more apparently which is quite obviously part of it but reports do state he didn't want to live In Manchester also.

I wouldn't say that was the decisive factor. More money to Napoli, player and also playing for the coach he knew best were the decisive factor.

Can't pretend that not disappointed by his decision but am sure that there is another plan. There was for Sanchez (Mahrez) and Bonucci (Laporte).
Jorghino is not a once in a generation player and I'm confident that a good alternative will be found.

Yes it's not Money vs Pep, it's obviously Sarri vs Pep, and Jorginho has understandably chosen to continue to work with a coach he knows and likes.

Seri, probably.

It's not a 'plan' though, it'll be a forced reaction.

Also City spun the line/lie that they didn't go for Sanchez in January due to money, yet he was a free transfer and you ended up spending £60m on Mahrez :wenger:

Were they not one of the sizable group of clubs in for Hazard?
Don't bring that up again. It was either City or United - he even tweeted 'I'll be playing in manchester next season' as a little tease, when he meant he'd just be playing away there.

Poor Pep though - he goes from managing two of the greatest clubs in the world to managing a comparatively-nothing club only relevant because their wealthy owner lets Pep spend whatever he wants every window on whichever toys he wants, but still he can't get everything he wants; the poor little lamb :(

Sarri ball is going to be very interesting next season. The forwards Chelsea already have, and add the Kante-Jorginho engine in the middle, quite possible to get them playing close to Napoli's style. First time in a while that I might be arsed watching Chelsea games and not be bored -- I mean, we already have our own shit football to contend with as it is.

City fans hammering that chief executive of theirs, borderline racist stuff. I don't think he even is Jewish either :wenger:

Saying he's penny pinching etc. It's not his money, it's the Sheikh's!

So he rather play in the EL than CL just to live in London?
Just live in London and go to Manchester for training then.

Would love it if City didn't get him, though :)

CL football is only relevant for 2 situations:

1) A player that has never played CL football before
2) A player that is moving to Bayern, Juventus, Barca or Madrid to win the CL

City really are trying to prove that players want to play for them and them alone, aren't they? It's just a bit silly, and it'll never work. Most players, agents and selling clubs love money, thats the simply fact, no magical Pep who won't be around forever changes that. There's going to be only a small amount of players who turn down more lucrative deals elsewhere just to play for the super special magical Manchester City Football Club.

I'll admit I don't know a lot about Jorginho. How different is he to Fabregas? He seems slightly more mobile.
