One of the few leaders in the team. This shit show isnt because of him, he does a decent job for us. He led Kambwala very well in a difficult debut. Kudos to Johnny

Man Utd 3:2 Aston Villa
That goal line block at 2-2 was as valuable as any of the goals.

At times he plays exactly how you would expect a 35 year old would but that block was so so crucial. Can't really expect much from a 5th/6th choice but he needs to get the ball out of his feet and move the ball quicker.

I almost forgot how much I loved him before. Best signing of the season.

Positioning is pure class at times.

Absolutely brilliant performance from him today.

Who would have thought he'd become this important? Massive signing we did on a free!

Our best centre back tonight. The tackle after the Dalot mistake and the goal line clearance were important.

He's about a million years old, but he seems to get even better with age. What a fecking great player.

He stepped up big time whenever he was called for this season. Credit to him.

If Maguire put in these performances the media would be creaming themselves.

How is he a really good defender and no-one else picked him up? Surprise leicester got relegated with him in defense

An average rating of 5.4 seems more about people not agreeing with the signing and misinterpreting it as a lack of ambition, rather than as a canny, SAF-esque move.

He's barely put a foot wrong all season and he was exceptional today.

he’s actually been a star performer every time he played. Signing him was a good decision

I love him and so glad he's back. He should have never been sold.

A nice swansong for an underrated united player. seems like a great character too.

For that block at 2-2, he was the only player in the box that didn't go charging towards the ball, there was a line of 4 red shirts at the near post that was bypassed by a single pass, including Varane who really should know better. Maybe after his season here we can get him in as a defensive coach.

Loved him back in the days and guess what? I still love him today

He’s been solid the whole season and actually surprised me with the quality of his performances. Let’s hope he can carry on

Paired with Varane they just have such cool heads and forethought , they also move the ball forward quickly we seen that tonight the performance tonight was more like the style we United supporters love and crave put the opposition on the back foot defend from the front stop their keeper and defenders looking around for the pass hurry them into making quick decisions which is how mistakes are made

That goal line block with his big toe was brilliant!

His positioning was great, called on his massive experience there to not rush out to the ball and remained calm enough to be able to read the play and clear what would have been a certain goal with his left foot.

Well done Jonny

I made it he blocked /saved 3 certain goals .
1st half - Villa player got to the end line and pulled it back it was going straight to Watkins but Evans managed to intercept and went for a corner.
he also intercepted a through ball to Watkins / Bailey that had the Villa attacker on a 1v1 with Onana. And finally the goal line clearance on McGinn.

he’s been an excellent signing and probably our best summer signing based on performances and also value

Imagine coming back for free at 35 after so many years away after being sold for 8m and still being better than all the crap the club spent 100s of millions replacing you with.

He was top class today, has such a good football brain and positional sense.

They don't make 'em like they used to

It's incredible that he can just slot in nicely, partnering with different CBs. It usually takes a bit time.

He and Varane is probably our best CB pairing.
