That's just bizarre.

Why can't people come to terms with the fact that different players develop at different rates?

Evans, for me, after a terrible season last time out has definitely gotten closer to his best this time round. BUT he still has that one clumsy moment or two every game. That's all that's in it. Otherwise he isn't getting bullied anymore and his overall level is very similar to when he broke through and was hailed as one of the best young defenders. It's a small step he has to take but an important one. I'd definitely pick him over Jones at CB like Fergie is doing.

Id rather see us keep Evans and sell Anderson to be honest.

Evans has played 101 times for us.

Plus 16 on loan at Sunderland in 07/8 if you're being picky.
 
Very good performance even 7even would struggle to find a flaw this time.

Disagree. His best game this season. Very good game where he showed confidence and calmness. He deserves credit because he reacted in the right way from our midweek fiasco.
 
He's shit and too short. Should've been taller so he could've prevented their goal.



This thread isn't right without some pointless criticism.
 
He's been very solid I thought, good display. Plus, he is always dangerous when we have a corner
 
It would have been great if Evans scored the header from the corner because as we know Evans doesn't do headers, he was good today.
 
He was a little weak in the air for the original cross when Jones came flying back to do that great diving header, but otherwise a very good game from Jonny. That's what he's capable of, and hopefully we'll see more of it on a consistent basis.
 
He played well today. He still can't jump or win contested headers, but he made some fantastic plays.
 
The missed chances will grab the headlines...

But he's been great thus far.
 
Far better today. good defending and several chances in attack. Unlucky not to have a goal or two.
 
Looking good for a run in the team. Sure its only QPR and Wolves but these games are great confidence builders as well as getting some much needed stability in the back four.

100 games for him and 50 already for Smalling, they are both quickly clocking up great game time experience.
 
Hope I am not tempting fate but I have to say he has been brilliant today. On the deck in the air and has been unlucky not to get at least one goal.

Seriously don't I feel terrible about the amount of abuse I have been giving Fletcher, when he has been so chronically poorly.
 
He was brilliant today. Looked assured, strong and made some very good tackles. Needs to perform like this every week.

Thought he was great today. So unlucky not to score as well. Really hope he gets his first soon.
 
I was accused of being a Johnny Evans fanboy in the newbs, because I said he isnt shit. He's a good young centre half, and he was very good today.
 
Brilliant today, best defender on the pitch that's for sure, didn't put a foot wrong, many interceptions, many blocks and unlucky not to score.
 
Could have gotten himself some goals with some luck. Great performance from him to show his talent again, would hope this helps him get back his confidence
 
Good today.

I was a bit surprised that QPR weren't playing Helguson in the air against Evans that much. They mostly kept it on the ground, which is where Jonny is the best.

Deserved a goal too. All in all - one of his best matches in a long long time. Picking up some good form which is great considering the importance of the coming games and Vida being out.
 
Happy to see the real Jonny back. When in full confidence, he is a brilliant centre half.
