Joao Felix / on loan to Chelsea

In those two games against us last season. Every time he had the ball, their whole attack just look so dangerous, and you expected something would happen. His lack of goals is concerning, but it feels like he can bring up the team as a whole more than a poacher (unless he's on Haaland's level of poacher).

I wonder if we could get him on loan (either for 18 months in January if we can shift Cristiano or for 12 if it's this summer) for a decent fee with a fairly massive option, and if he takes to Ten Hag's football and wins the job great, and if not we just buy a striker in the summer of 2024.

Maybe the rumours are true, He could be looking for a way out.

His first start is tonight in 9 games and he's had a bust-up with DS. JF just got subbed off and didn't look best pleased.

Didn't have a good game and looked frustrated for not getting the ball as much as he would like.

Atletico paid €126m for him in 2019 and he signed a 7 year contract. No chance Atletico will let him go on the cheap and we won't pay what Atletico want.

He has no way out with his current contract.

To be fair last season what attacker didn't look like a genius

He looks good whilst also playing like shite, if that makes sense.

Forget what he’s doing at atletico. He would be a fantastic signing for any team. Take him out of that shite team set up and strategy. He would thrive in an ETH team.

They'll likely hold out for a huge fee despite not knowing how to utilise him. But a cheeky loan bid in January might be interesting.

I'm with you. They're out of Europe and the title race so might be happy to take some money for Felix (as they have forward depth) and spend it on their defence and midfield to ensure a CL place, and we'd get to see if Felix does well here. A fairly massive loan fee with a high number for the loan option would be payable if we can come to an agreement with Cristiano to cancel his deal and make him a free agent and he gives us back half his remaining wages which his new team will give him anyways after some striker gets injured at the World Cup and they need a replacement.

It's not like they have plethora of options , right

I suppose that £126m will be spread across 7 years of their accounts so he will show as being worth £54m on their balance sheet at the end of this season. (I think that’s how they do it). £60m would be okay for them if there are no higher bidders. Still sounds like a lot.

For some reason I always felt he will end up at City. Thought he looked quality against us.

Crazy that they spent that much on him. I wonder if they had some massive outgoings that summer to muster that sort of cash.

For the amount he’d cost us (& not to mention what he cost atletico), he seems a tad overrated on the Caf.
He has elite potential but isn't an elite player yet... The reason I'd want him is because Ten Hag IMO could get the best out of him as a central player, and give us a truly elite player up there. Hard to be a top top team without an elite attacker IMO.

They rejected a £85 Mio offer from Bayern this summer. Let's say it there was one year left on his contract next summer.
He would then probably be sold for around 45-50 million like Gabriel Jesus.

Very very talented, but I don't think he has the killer mentality to match that technique.

I am certain Ten Hag could make a world beater out of him, but he would probably be expensive as heck.

I believe ETH can revive his career here, but would Atletico willing to sell us at reasonable price?

To be very honest, with his current form, I doubt anyone would be interest to sign him for more than 40-50m. I doubt Atletico would be willing to take 70m+ loss on him so soon. Maybe 80m would be enough to take him here (Atletico taking 40m loss, we taking extra 30-40m risk), but I doubt we would be willing to risk that much for him.

His best league season is 8 goals, that is below mediocre, that is sh1t level for a 9/false 9

He would be absolutely immense for us. I would gladly give them Bruno and a fat fee for him. Atleti would never go for it though.

Bruno who is a £60m player and a fat fee.. In what world is Felix still worth over 100m?

Based on what?
