Jesse Lingard | Seoul singer

Its possible to have genuine mental health (and related) issued, whilst also being an idiot. One doesnt have to exclude the other.
Sums it up well, imo. And one can also feel sympathy for idiots - it feels like some in this thread (not aimed at anyone in particular) think that posters can't empathize with someone going through a mental health crisis while still thinking they're a bit of a prat, for unrelated reasons.

You’re free to go find another one then. How about looking in your own post history before slagging off everyone else?
Have you not seen some of the takes in the past 5 years? Some of the threads or comments...
I'd be thinking people were trolling but they're dead serious. :annoyed:

That someone thinks the caf overpraised Jesse Lingard might be the strangest thing I've ever read on here. Not saying that there weren't people who didn't do that but it's pretty obvious to anyone who has been on this forum for the last decade that the overwhelming majority of posts about Lingard have been negative, regardless if it's about his performances on the pitch or his private life.

Everyone is not going to agree about everything and there will always be those who support a player no matter what simply because he's wearing the right shirt, but I'll take that any day of the week over having to read about how shit this United forum is because a minority of United fans praise some United players too much.
We still have player performance threads from the past years. Go check some of those threads out and see for yourself some of the takes on certain players with any criticism which was duly rejected and blame put on other players.
-It was clear as day after half a year Maguire wasn't good enough but his fanboys were defending him and blaming DDG, Shaw and Lindelof. Each season there was a new excuse
-You could tell less than a year in Lukaku was an absolute joke of a striker. Not clinical enough, poor control, pathetic in big games... Yet the excuses were his stats show that he's amazing, he doesn't get enough chances and all that bs.
-Lingard had 1 good month where he scored 7 goals (December 2017, he only managed 1 goal in the league after new years) and people kept pretending he was our solution when he was nothing more than a backup yet he started for us - the excuses for him are on another level.
-Valencia was lauded as an amazing full back - the same guy who got mentally challenged when he received the number #7 jersey.
-Depay the football pretender yet some people here wanted Utd to resign him
- The Fred and McTominay connundrum. Well known that both of them are inconsistent as feck but every time each of them has 1 good game the crazy takes are out.
-The overrated Rashford...

We laughed at RAWK in the 00s but now people laugh at us because some of the takes are absolutely mind boggling.

I watched the podcast on You tube tonight. My take on it as an outsider is that with all due respect, Jesse isn’t the deepest thinker around. If you are going to criticise United’s facilities then he needs to be better prepared, more precise and not just say “everything”. I can see why it would irk some United fans. When he did give a reasoned argument about the lack of games room and the fact he wanted to socialise with team mates after training, he made a cogent point. The stuff about Southgate‘s attention to detail whilst away at a tournament was interesting too.
I also see why he came to Forest, Cooper is a brilliant at making a player feel valued and wanted which Lingard seems to need.
Most pleasing: obviously the atmosphere at the City Ground on a match day is indeed the envy of the footballing universe.

Yes, football fans see the players on their team as much better or much worse than they might actually be for a number of different reasons. Pretty sure that's always been the case, even on the caf.
I mean have you never held an opinion about a player that you can go back to now and say it was a really bad take? If you haven't I think you should drop this gif stuff and apply for the position as senior head scout asap, or if you have you should add it to your list of bs that people are apparently laughing at.

eventually signing for Manchester Unitedin June 2009. His stint there established him as one of the greatest Ecuadorian players of all time, as Valencia was voted into the PFA Team of the Year in his debut season, spent time as club captain, and went on to win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two League Cups, three FA Community Shields and the UEFA Europa League.

You don't even remember it huh? When he got the number 7 jersey he played like he was spacejammed that's how bad he was.

One: it absolutely nornal to pick a club that shows more love and attention.
Second: have you seen West Ham an Forest in the PL table?
1) It is normal but still you see players get criticised all the time for choosing ‘love’ (££) over sporting capability (see Neymar to PSG, Robinho to Man City etc)
2) Did you see last year’s premier league table, when Jesse actually made the decision to go to Forest?

Only just listened to this Choppers interview on Diary of a CEO

It was painful

Just came across as highly uneducated, mumbles a lot, his articulation was dreadfull

and basically came across as poor old highly paid me.

Being rich doesn’t mean you don’t go through hardship of course. But Jesus Christ he sounded like he’s been through torture with his career, not being played here, not being played there……Ok I get it, you want to play, don’t give me all this crap with how hard it is for you when your not being picked too play a bloody football match whilst you collect your £100k+ plus a week salary, that’s not hardship.

It doesn’t help he’s clearly lacking education because he is utterly detached from the real world and can’t grasp the fortunate position he’s got himself into from no doubt a tough childhood. It’s just poor old me.

For someone that claims someone is lacking education you’d do well to proofread your own posts.

supposedly he wants to go Hollywood to be an actor, couldnt make it up

I think it is safe to say that a lot of football fans thought the signing of Jesse Lingard on a free was an incredible coup for Forest. Unfortunately for both club and player, it has been incredibly underwhelming.

The 30-year-old only signed a one-year contract with the City Ground club and it would not be surprising to see him play elsewhere next season. In 15 Premier League games for Forest, Lingard has zero goal contributions and has only played 13 minutes of top-flight football in 2023.

Forest are hardly known for their youth development though

It really wasn't safe to say, unless "a lot" constitutes Lingard and his siblings.

Their best player plays in his best position so not that surprising he's not been involved recently but he was really poor at the start of the season for them.

He should have taken a longer contract, I doubt there will be many takers in the summer.

Should've taken the 3 year deal when he had the chance. Those 80-100k per week offers would've suddenly vanished this summer.

Give yer head a wobble son: Players who’ve played Prem football
Ryan Yates
Brennan Johnson
Joe Worrall
Alex Mighten
Scott Gemmil
Nigel Clough
Andy Reid (and the CB who went with him to Spurs I can’t remember)
Jermaine Lascelles
Jermaine Jenus

And those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head

He’s played on the left of a front three with BJ and MGW but he got injured just as he started to hit form (Spurs in the Cariboa cup). Since then, we’ve brought in Wood, Scarpa and Ayew plus he’s not getting in ahead of Awoniyi when he’s fit.

Oh right cool thanks for ruining the joke

Still amazed that he didn't join West Ham where he played his best football in ages. Probably didn't get the money he asked for, but who's going to give him anything close to that next season.

I think where MGW plays is his best position and I think he's your best player.

Even worse for them that he was for us. Rank footballer.

I was wondering the same. When i checked on livescores during some Forest games he wasnt even on the bench and he also wasnt listed as injured. So he does still play for them?
He was subbed in today. He's in their squad but he barely plays. At the beginning of the season he was a starter but since January he lost his place and he's only play 4 games as a sub with less than 90' minutes between them. As awful as forest squad is it's clear Lingard is second/third choice at best.

Wether or not Forest is relegated it's obvious they won't extend his contract. I don't think he'll find any teams interested in him in the premier league, not as a starter at least, it wouldn't surprise me if next season he's in the championship.

Wasn’t he flirting with America before the Forest move?

Absolutely no chance he puts himself in the Championship, far too big an ego and doesn’t have the fight in him. He’ll go off to the MLS.
