Scary.
City can bring Sane off the bench, we start with Lingard. Depressing.
Energy? Clever movement? Local lad? He's just trash and no one can tell me otherwise
I'd say that was intentional but that would be giving him too much credit. Missing sitters is his signature move.
Scary.
Everton player in 2 years time? I can't see him leaving next season.
People on here seem to forget he's got good handshakes.
I’m going to come off as extremely bitter, but I can’t wait for the day he leaves our club. The only reason this guy plays for us is because he’s from the academy, which is a huge problem in itself if the people resonsible start placing more emphasis on sentiment rather than actual ability. It’s just embarassing how far our standards have fallen and a testament to how acceptant we have become towards mediocre players.
I also hate this hyperbole that’s always thrown around of him being a decent squad option. He’s just not good enough, neither as a starter nor as a squad player. But hey, he’s just 26 so he still has 20 more years to develop and then he’ll prove us all wrong.
Do you really need to ask that question? It's actually obvious why he starts and that's actually even worse.Jesse is useless and that’s obvious but how does our manager not see that? How did he start tonight? Unbelievable.
Even everton is too good for him. He will be playing for a team in the bottom half of the table. Maybe at Newcastle or West Ham.
Scary.
In light of this absolutely terrible stat for a, what is he, 27 year old, how much do people feel Lingard offers outside of the final third? His movement is pretty good but again, it's mostly a final third thing. Unlike somebody like Park, a genuinely brilliant squad player, do we really feel Lingard offers enough outside the box and in the buildup to justify his role as the solid squad option?
He doesn't offer anything to the level we require Amol. Definitely not as a starter and I wouldn't even have him in the squad. I'd give his spot to Chong without hesitation..In light of this absolutely terrible stat for a, what is he, 27 year old, how much do people feel Lingard offers outside of the final third? I wouldn't mind him if he was somebody who really aided the buildup and added bite, physicality and link up play like our Korean energizer bunny did. But I'm just realising that Lingard has never been somebody you rely on for any of that. Which makes him a pretty average player given his end product. He doesn't offer anything to the level we require Amol. Definitely not as a starter and I wouldn't even have him in the squad. You'll be disappointed by Chong. On one hand, it's true that Chong could be more dangerous because he wants to run at players and will run at players. On the other hand, I believe his decision making is still too immature. His end product isn't all that either. He doesn't offer anything to the level we require Amol. Mason I know well for a number of years and I believe he should play centrally and shouldn't be shunted out wide. You'll be disappointed by Chong. Think Chong will take a while before he's a good contributor to the first team.
Greenwood makes the most sense. He has a more mature playing style, and has better end product than Chong.
The issue with his miss wasn’t the technique (or lack thereof) of the airshot itself, it was that he’d already given up on the play as soon as the first pass went behind where he wanted, and was already throwing his arms up and whinging rather than being alert to a ball that was still very much in play... That’s what caught him off guard when Rash (who was being alert) got the ball back in... he was mentally unprepared for it. Which frankly, is lazy schoolboy stuff.
