Why would the club offer him a new contract with a pay rise?
He is a very average player who claims to love the club, hardly ever scores or assists, build his Jlingz brand on the popularity/attention every Manchester United gets and i doubt that other clubs can/will offer him the same exposure and money Manchester United offers him.
Based on his performances he doesnt deserve an improved contract and i dont think there is much risk in other clubs going crazy to try and get Lingard if he doesnt get a new contract.

IF this is true, that Ole wants to give him a raise and ‘make him a key man’, then that alone is enough for me - Ole must be sacked instantly before he does a Dalglish on our club. If he has seen something in his 6 months to make him think he needs to build his new team around Jesse Lingard, he has no business at this club.
Anyway, I honestly believe he is playing his last game for England today. Don’t expect to see him in the team, or the squad from next season.

It's important we tie down players like Lingard on long term deals as we look to slide further down the table
I mean, the first game is only a week or so into next season, so he’d quite possibly get in then, but beyond that, no - I would be surprised if he continues to get into the squad next season and beyond, let alone a cap.
The likes of Maddison, Foden, Winks, Loftus-Cheek will be added to the midfield of this squad going forward, and also CHO coming into the forward line, and Jesse won’t be able to see off that level of competition.
He won’t go to the next World Cup and beyond that, that will be that.

He’s just not very good. That’s not to say he’s not capable of quality individual moments, but he’s incredibly lucky to have come through the United youth system. He’d not have got anywhere near this far playing for another club.
