It doesnt seem that long ago that he was one of the culprits missing easy chances and it was frustrating.

Hes decided he'll just score wondergoals instead

Lingard has developed so well this season its unimaginable. His play has become outstanding, he surpasses even his own expectation I think. Props to him for proving himself worthy of a starter, which in all honesty i never thought he would.
That goal today was a beauty!

He reminds me abit of Thomas Muller, his intelligence on the pitch and movement is incredible, it makes up for other weaknesses. He could be really important for us.
In terms of movement I agree with you, but still needs the killer finish that Muller has. If Mou keeps believing in him, there is no reason why he cant

Still got the same message ""She canee take the strain". Fix it!!

Sorry, our lines are currently open between 9am-9.05am on Mondays only, we hope to respond to you then.

How many posters here actually believed in him from the start and aren't just hopping on the train now ?

I've genuinely been supporting him since before LVG, the previous player threads will show the evidence of this also.

So pleased he’s coming good. Long may it continue, fingers crossed.

We’ve needed someone to pull us through flat patches of form recently and he has contributed more than his fair share! And he’s been at the club since aged 7!

He does still miss easy chances tbf

I don't understand this. He always seemed like an afterthought of a player, but can't deny he's scored some important and impressive goals. Hit a real purple patch of late.

Can someone go through all my previous posts of sticking up for him please when all you cnuts were hating as I'm simply too lazy.

Man like J Lingz, delighted for him whilst that pussy Mikhi turns in that absolute dross.

Can he really be that much of a late bloomer, or is it just the purple patch of all purple patches?
this is the question that only time can answer. I really hope he is the late bloomer considering how well he is playing. It is not just the goals but his movement and ball control, surely there is something special happening here.

It has potential, work on it some more.

lingard kinda reminding me off beckham's break out season, though beckham was 4 or 5 years younger at then time than lingard currently is now but better late than never hopefully

Logged onto the Caf, the other day.
Posted to me they've seen a Championship Player.
So I asked "Who is he?",
He goes by the name of
Lionel Jesse.

One of the little gifts bestowed on us by LVG was Lingard as a no 10. Been developing a long time, I remember him from
highlights on MUTV of the youth team seven or eight years ago. He showed outstanding promise in Moyes first pre-season (but not so much during the season). But he really started to blossom under Louis.

He wanted him to play wing back if I remember rightly actually

Played there all pre season and started first game of season in LVG there then got injured for first half went on loan to derby?

What's the point of this thread really? Not good enough for United. Needs to be binned off to Everton/Stoke or whoever will take him. Close the thread

Park was twice the player Lingard is. Plus he delivered in key Premier League and Champions League games. Lingard delivers in cup games only. He is terrible in the league.

I would wager he will start tomorrow so I think that will be the key to a more realistic view. Not the league cup with little pressure.

Apart from secret handshakes with his mates I've got no idea what he contributes. The lad is barely a prem level player yet he's a good squad player here? Madness.

Just a few I found...shall I keep going?

Championship player at best. And not one who would be in an XI fighting for promotion either.

Like others have said, it's like playing 10v11 when he plays.

Or Young, or Mata, or Darmian, or Fellaini, or Lindorf.

At least the above names can put it some sort of a shift. Lingard is a championship player.

He is much closer to a Championship level player, than a Manchester United one.

These were good, too.

Love all the people fessing up. This tells you how Trump feels with that new book out, what the feck did I actually do/say?

Got to be the worst player to of made 100 appearances for the club surely.

He's just awful, no use what so ever.

What does he offer the team? Running? We get that from a terribly out of form Mkh, but at least Mkh is actually a footballer.

I wonder if he realizes he's stealing a living at the club or is he delusional enough to think he deserves a place in the team.

Does anyone know what the win rate is when he starts for us?

What is Lingard? Is he kept around as some sort of courtyard jester with his dabbing and dancing to keep the real footballers happy?

He's like a frail child playing against adults.

"Local Lad", "Gives 100%", "Puts a shift in"... blah blah.

Some more....

These were good, too.

You might also like my quote from tonight on the locked ''Loving Jesse Lingard'' thread:

It's not even just the goals, his movement and running with the ball into space is brilliant. Even his 1 touch passing in tight spaces and movement has improved loads.

If I literally had to sum up Lingard's United career before this season I'd say he was an average player that only offered pressing and feck all else.

He's proved me wrong, good on him.

He's turned it around massively in the past 2 months.
