I used to not rate lingard because for me he just is not that excel at anything except making runs, but now I see what he brings to the team, especially with Ibra as a striker

Player like Lingard will excel in this setup because Ibra tends to drop deep and it makes space for him to run into, something that I wish Martial would learn eventually instead of just stay at the wing for 90 minutes and try to dribble past the defender

Lingard will not turn into player like Hazard or Neymar who constantly try to dribble past the opponent, and he probably will never be as good as them, but his intelligent runs, solid overall technique, and his willingness to defend will guarantee him a place in United squad, just wish that his finishing will improve though

Typical overraction when it comes to Lingard after that missed chance. Created our goal with a brilliant cross and another good chance for Rooney with nice composure after one of his many good runs.
As usual he provides very good movement and link-up play. If that was Martial or Mkhitaryan everyone would be drooling over that 1st half performance.

Yeah, I think I've seen every one he has scored for the first team. A lot of them are instinctive (see FA Cup final goal), I don't think he has very good composure in front of goal.

Calm down! There is no wrong with Lingard's instincts, it's the flaws in his decision making that I'm trying to highlight upon. I understand that Lingard, like most of the players will improve his decision making as he matures. I was merely pointing out his current flaws. Also, Instinct is the one thing that is very difficult to change or develop unlike the point that you were trying to make.

ppl are complaining about his end product but he already scored some great goals for us and we all remember how Zlatan was failing to score so many sitters in the first part of the season and he's recognized as far better finisher than Jesse. I think he's great backup for Mhk and always delivers even if he doesnt play that often, now upgrade that left hand sie with someone not as bad as Rooney and we have some pace and skills on both sides of the pitch

This is why he's a very valuable squad player for us. His off the ball movement is beautiful, always looking to run into free space. Great performance today that pass was superb, wish he was a bit more concentrated when he had that chance to score tho.
