Almost read that as women..I like him a lot. He seems very hard to get past 1 on 1 and is very fast in catching widemen. I think he should learn to tackle and intercept more cleanly though. A few times there he does great to win the ball or anticipate and intercept a through ball but his touch takes the ball out for a thrown in, thus losing possession and maintaining threat.
If he can learn to do that he has the potential to be a colossal defender, like a Van Dijk.
I’ve seen him make a few mistakes in the select amount I’ve watched of him, not a fan personally.
I vote no to this. For me. At this moment he doesn't look like athletic player.
And i think i like and prefer Lille's young CB Yoro more.
Yoro is a lot younger. 18 age like Mainoo.
Yoro from Lille and a left foot Branthwaite from Everton and the 2 CBs right now i am considering most.
But not final decision yet.
The market for Yoro is looking huge right now, looks an amazing talent.I vote no to this. For me. At this moment he doesn't look like athletic player.

I think our first choice should be Bremer. He reads the game better and is more dominant in the air. For overall athleticism Todibo is ahead but Bremer is the safer option and compliments Martinez better. If we want 2 CBs then it’s Bremer and Branthwaite for me.

He’s safe. He really isn’t your ball playing defender but we don’t need 2 of them. Martinez has that role covered. Bremer is your stopper, he wins the ball and gives it to a team mate. We need that player who reads the game and has the pace to offer that defensive stability. He is aerially dominant, aware to any danger, lightening quick, strong as an ox. He’s the perfect foil for Licha. They literally have all aspects of defending covered between them. Our new Rio and Vidic. What's Bremer like on the ball, though?

Bet he’s Schick and tired of you.LuckyScout said Schick was one of the best strikers on the market a year or so ago, for that, I say let’s get Todibo!
I’d say Bremer was better than Varane, been a few occasions I’ve seen him win the ball and then break forward with it, it’s just not fully his style like Todibo, even though he’s no slouch with that aspect. But we do need more than just Bremer. If Todibo and Bremer were available for 50mil each then we’d be stupid not to try and bring both in. Them 2 coming in for Maguire and Lindelof would be a massive upgradeI think we need as many as we can get, simply because we've seen the drop off in our build up play since Martinez has been out. To add to that, if we only have one, then players will just set pressing traps.
I think, if you look at the top teams in Europe, they will have two starting ball playing centre backs and their back ups will also be good on the ball. Maybe Bremer is not that bad, and as you said, could form a good partnership with Martinez, but I look at Varane and how is struggles in the first phase, at times, and would personally like someone a lot more comfortable on the ball.
Only thing is, would Yoro be ready to come in and play next to Martinez, because the defender we sign will no doubt be a straight replacement for Varane?
Alternatively, both Varane and Maguire could go, and so we'd need to be looking at an established RCB and young LCB.
From the players we've been linked with, our RCB will be one of:
Bremer
Todibo
Adarabioyo
As for LCB, I like Branthwaite, but I'd go for Hato of Ajax.
RCB
Martinez
Lindelof
LCB
He's not made his final decision yet, could always do a 180.A Lucky Scout kiss of death is all I need to unwatch this thread. I go by his recommendations.
Too bad we won't know because he does not do discussions = will not reply. He's not made his final decision yet, could always do a 180.
add Adarabioyo and Mario Hermoso on a free and break the bank of Braithwaite
I hope we dont replace medioker with medioker. Tosin is not an improvement on Maguire/Lindeløf. Maybe Hermoso is (really not sure), but dont make much sense with anothet left footed CB in a mix with Martinez, Branthwaite and even Shaw.
If we get rid of Varane, and manage to sell Maguire and Lindelof, there should be funds to sign better players than Tosin and Hermoso in addition to Branthwaite.
Having Maguire as a squad player is unsustainable. His salary is just too high. Having hermoso and Tosin as cover will drive the wage bill down, it will allow us to invest the money generated by sales elsewhere and it will provide us ample cover (hermoso can play as LB, a position that's always plagued with injuries). Also note that players can surprise us. Evans is a clear example to that
Varane is leaving, Evans is ancient, Lindelof and Maguire aren't good enough and there's question marks around Martinez. I'd say sell Lindelof and Maguire, add Adarabioyo and Mario Hermoso on a free and break the bank of Braithwaite
or a top LB like Theo Hernandez, who would instantly improve our left flank. Why would you 'break the bank' for someone who will inevitably be back up to Martinez, as they're both left footed?
For me, if we're going to break the bank, go and test Benfica's resolve for Antonio Silva.

Is there really a need to do that to such a huge degree? I mean, there is barely an experienced, proven, quality CB left. Probably just Martinez and with his injury record the past year, that would be a worry.
Replacing Varane with Branthwaite and Maguire with someone in the mould of Bremer/Todibo would also bring down overall cost. Selling Lindelof and replacing him with someone like Hermoso would be like for like.
In midfield offloading Donny (and not signing Amrabat) should give room for a new midfielder. That would leave us with Casemiro/new, Mainoo/McT and Bruno/Mount + Eriksen.
Upfront we should also be able to stay cost neutruel by replacing Greenwood and Martial with a striker.
If we sell aswell Sancho there should be further room to invest in the attack. Maybe in someone flexible like Eze who could play both in attack and midfield?
Yes, we will likely have to take a hit/make impairment on players like Sancho and Donny. But we will also make profit on players with book value = zero (Maguire, Lindelof, Mejbri, Greenwood, Pellistri).

I'll be very surprised if we can get rid of Donny + we need to brace ourselves of losing our massively on Maguire, Sancho and co.
Stam and Johnsen were both Right footed. Same as pique and puyol. Ideally we don't have that but it's not a tragedy if we don't.
I just think in this day and age, with emphasis being on building from the back, ten Hag would preferably want that balance at the back, which he has quite openly spoken about before. However, as you said, it wouldn't be a tragedy.
