Well he isnt as good as Rooney so he has to deal with it harsh as it is. But yeah, with RVP, Rooney and Welbeck, he must wonder how he's going go get regular game time.

I'd question that. He might not be as good as Rooney when Rooney plays to his full potential - but how often is that?

He's an out and out number 9, and there's no chance he's going to start ahead of Van Persie. I'd sell him for around £15M because he's not going to be happy sat on the bench.

That's a bit mental.

Unless Hernandez suddenly becomes good enough to play behind RVP, Rooney's form doesnt have a lot to do with him playing games am afraid. Playing RVP deeper to accommodate Hernandez isnt going to happen in any big game. We'l do it against the lesser sides like last season but thats about it.

True. I'm looking at it very simplistically from the point that he's more likely than most of the team, to stick the ball in the back of the net. Tbh though, I don't think he's played enough regular games to be judged fairly.

I seem to remember Solskjaer had the same kind of comments, but I always felt we were at least likely to score when Ole played, and Hernandez gives me the same feeling.

same here. If he plays, I expect him to score. I think this will end badly for us fans who've taken to him so closely.

Don't understand the worry here. United have top class cover if Van Persie needs resting or is injured plus Hernandez is a good impact sub.
Surely it a credit to the squad that United have that strength in depth in that area of the squad.

If we're not buying anyone, it would be madness to sell any of the first team squad.

Joking aside, he is our fourth choice forward, I'm not sure we'd actually get as much as some fans would like to believe. Let's be honest he's fourth choice for a reason...
You think welbeck is ahead of him in the pecking order, for the striker position? No way IMO. Hernandez is a much better and more reliable option for that position then welbeck is.

the worry isnt that we have him, the worry is how long he'd want to play from the bench.

I agree with this, I see Hernandez and RvP as our strikers and Rooney and Welbeck better suited to the center forward position. I'd certainly always choose Chicha over Danny up front.

Bit of a frenzy in here about how he's not been given a chance this year but IIRC he has a hamstring injury. He seems to enjoy playing for United so hopefully he'll come back and impress Moyes when he's fit, great player and deserves a good run. I can't see him going anywhere in a hurry just yet.

...the thing is, RvP physically can't start in every game of the season, and since Hernandez is our #2 striker (I consider Rooney a forward, not a striker) there's no reason to think he won't get plenty of games.

I just think he's a better player than Welbeck, really, and it does baffle me how little he gets to start ahead of him.

Only player in our team who seems to understand the concept of movement.

15 minutes, half fit, instantly more dangerous than most everyone else on the pitch.

Also more creative. If I remember correctly he was the only player to slip Van Persie in for a chance and supposedly the build up is where his weakness is?!

Baffled that he didn't start. His movement and all around play made such a big difference.

I reckon had Hernandez played 90 minutes we'd have got a point, at least.

People saying on the previous page we should sell for £15m? Geeze louise.

RVP will start most games, it happened last season too. I dont see Hernandez getting plenty of starts in the league at all. Gametime from the bench yes.

It's strange, Welbeck is good and all, Chicha is just better though.

"Pub player outside the box" my arsehole. Has quite a nice cross in him too, not that he often gets to show it.

He is the better striker. Well and considering that Welbeck should be one I agree.

We hear all the time from people on here about him only being any good off the bench, not being any good outside the box, blah blah blah.

Fact is, we looked more like scoring after he came on. And it's not the first time.

He has been treated very unfair last season. If this continues this season (we don't know that yet cause this was the first match he was available) then I am afraid this will be his last season here. He is much better than to be in the bench and watch Giggs, Welbeck and Young playing regularly.

Where do you lot expect him to start? We should drop van Persie or Wayne Rooney, or is he better than those two too?

If we can find place for Welbeck, Giggs and Young who aren't half as good as he is, I think we can find place for him too.

OK, can't wait to see Hernandez on the wing.

I didn't say that. Never. Though I doubt that he'll do a worse job than those three players I mentioned, even there.

For example he could start with Van Persie in some games, in others as part of a three man attack. There are many possibilities.

If Rooney is still out, I'd really like to see Hernandez up front with RvP for the Palace game. He's just a much much better footballer than Welbeck.

Unless United are going to be regularly playing 442, a formation no top side uses, I doubt Hernandez will be getting anymore game time then he did last season.

It's not even close imo. Amazing how so many forgot how good he was last season right away and started thinking welbeck was better after 1 good game.

Obviously, considering we had four forwards on. The only way he's playing is if Van Persie gets injured.

You said he could play instead of Giggs, Young, or Welbeck, and all those are mainly playing wide, so by that logic you want him to play wide too.

If he starts with van Persie, where would you play Rooney?

Or in midfield
Okay, that is too much, I don't to see that.

Those players play in attacking positions. It isn't set in stone that you must play with two wingers. There are many tactics that could make use of Chicha even with RVP, or with both RVP and Rooney.

And to be fair, I don't know what any of Giggs and Young offers more than Chicha even in the wings.
