Hernandez is exactly the type of striker we need right now. A shame he is at United and they still have use for him, if he was at Spurs they'd be very very good.

Madrid sold higuain for, what was it, 38 million? I hope we don't sell under any condition, but in today's market his price should be around 25 million in all honesty. Add on some for the fact he doesn't want to leave and we don't want to get rid, and that he's such a big icon in Mexico and countries around there that we shouldn't even look at anything less then 30m.
Would be really gutted if he left thou, but I don't think he will thankfully.

Hernandez deserves to be a starter for the first team , but it seems Welbeck as moved up the pecking order , hate to see him go ,but as i said he deserves to be playing week in week out.

Welbeck hasn't moved in pecking order, he is playing in a completely different position to Chicha. Hernandez's problem is Van Persie. Although he has improved his general play he still can't play in other positions and it's his bad luck that he has to compete with the best player in the league for that position. If Van Persie get injured, I don't think that there is a chance that Moyes will play Welbeck instead of Chicha there. The difference in quality between them for the main striker position is huge.

Championship level footballer!

A player who should be playing more than he does

Agreed, yet most on here want to bring in another attacker and limit his chances further. If he doesn't get more starts than last season then I wouldn't blame him at all if he wanted to leave

Another attacker doesn't limit Hernandez's chances. The only person he's competing with is RvP given that he doesn't play anywhere else and I'm yet to see anyone wishing we buy an out and out striker this window.

I love Hernandez but if RvP and Rooney have injury free seasons I can't see where much game time is going to come from. He got most of his minutes last season when Rooney was injured iirc.

Playing more regularly he'd score bucketloads.

No, that's just really simplistic and you're ignoring the fact that so many of our attackers play in multiple positions.

Rooney and Welbeck both can play as the leading striker, Welbeck did in 2012 with Rooney in behind him - ahead of Hernandez. So not sure what you're talking about here really.

The reason Welbeck got shunted to the left is precisely because we couldn't give him the games up top - he is still a striker, not a winger.

Ignoring Rooney is much more strange though. If Van Persie gets injured then Rooney would be first choice to lead the line if we bought someone like Ozil. If we have Ozil and Kagawa to play as the number 10 then there is no reason that Rooney wouldn't start as a number 9 in Van Persie's absence.

Rooney played a whole half an hour there last season against Norwich at home (despite Robin's ten game dry spell), and Welbeck 2-3 games at most. Yes they can play there but they don't tend to since Robin joined and Moyes has preferred Welbeck behind Robin in the absence of Kagawa/Rooney, not the other way round. Our other attackers are fighting it out for the three positions behind Robin, whilst Chicharito battles for the #9 role. Chicharito played more games in that position last season than Rooney and Welbeck combined.

I don't think we need another attacking player but if we did get one I don't see why it'd limit Chicha's game time at all.

Yep, I'l be amazed if he sticks around for much longer if things continue the way they are.

He must love seeing the club and fans bend over for Rooney despite all his antics and not get a chance himself despite being a model professional and play really well when he actually gets a chance.

Well he isnt as good as Rooney so he has to deal with it harsh as it is. But yeah, with RVP, Rooney and Welbeck, he must wonder how he's going go get regular game time.

No this just isn't true.

I know they were limited last season but so was Hernandez so its a nothing point really, Van Persie started 35 of the 38 games.

If we signed Ozil then we have no need for Rooney to play behind Van Persie do we, as Kagawa and Ozil are both able to play that exact position. So if Van Persie got injured Rooney would be the obvious candidate to replace him as our number 9.

Hernandez wouldn't be second choice when we have Rooney in the squad.

However if there was no Ozil and Rooney was still playing as the number 10 behind the striker then Hernandez might be second choice. Ozil changes that.

RvP getting injured is the only likely scenario really seeing as he starts when he's fit, unless he's rested like in the cups when Chicharito would probably play. Adding Özil would most likely impact on Kagawa/Valencia or Young more than Hernandez.

He's not given enough starts. We'll look like right muppets if Rooney fecks off next season and Hernandez also thinks "feck this, I need some games" and leaves as well. For the majority of his time here he's just been the 'super sub'.

Yeah definitely it would impact them more, but we have such an inter-connected attack with so many players playing multiple positions that bringing anyone in affects the whole attack

That's the toughest bit. I dont see how it'l change either. As long as RVP's fit, he will start. If he gets injured, I see Rooney moving up top. Hernandez, like it or not, will remain a squad player and he's too good for that tbh. He's as pure a goalscorer as they come.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't seriously look at Spurs' offer, he's not getting enough game time here, and Rooney is staying so... wouldn't begrudge him desiring more game time.

he will get his chance as the season goes on just as usual. he is most probably not going to play as much as he would like but we need 4 forwards to be challenging for all trophies. there are still a lot of twist and turn remember but he got to be the most patient footballer we had since ole and that's why we all love him!!

and spurs can go and f**k off if they rate him at 8million. they sold steven caulker for 9million and want 100million for gareth bale for f**k sake!

tbh, if I was in his position i'd probably move. Depends on whether or not we'll accept an offer from Tottenham, i'd be asking 20m minimum. No way i'd want him to leave though! :(

Yeah, that's the point. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, and he's too good for what we're giving him right now. I wouldn't be too surprised if he wanted to move on.

nobody would blame him if he is considering to leave. but he is worth 20-25million pounds at the very least, and again i don't think the board would entertain the idea of selling him to a premiership rival.

but please stay chica...

The issue I have is that he deserves to be playing. He's what 25? Scored 3 goals in the confed cup in pre season and hasn't even made the bench for us in our first 3 games! It's mental and highly frustrating as a fan, don't even want to know how Hernandez must be feeling at the moment.

He is injured.
