I will be gutted if he leaves in the summer. What an impact sub.
Hopefully today leads to Moyes deciding to throw him on more against tiring defences. He really is just a brilliant option from the bench.
this. and even if we are leading, i would like to see more of hernandez-van persie-rooney all playing at the same time.
'Ive been going three years...for now...at this club...'
I'm going to say it, I think he's easily my favourite player we have at the club right now. His attitude is fantastic, you can see how happy he is even when someone else scores. When you need a goal too there are not many other players that you would bring on instead of him, he's just fantastic.
And Chris Kamara again shows why 'Goals on Sunday' is superior to MOTD, highlighting how Hernandez's movement towards the near post and then sudden backwards dart as Evra hits the cross creates the space for him to score the winner. BBC Football really isn't in Sky Sports' league.
I was shocked that people felt it needed to be talked about really. He went in to block the long boot up field like all players always do, ended up catching him a bit as Huth kicked the ball. It was hardly a yellow IMO. You see those fouls 3-4 times every game. Was even more shocked at Hughes saying he shouldn't have been on the pitchWhat was that challenge on Huth(?) like? Looked like a nothing challenge to me, but I was at the opposite said side of the ground... and just heard Hughes now saying he should have been off!?
Stoke put in some much worse challenges then that in my opinion...
I've said before he should basically come on in pretty much every game (presuming he's not started)...
If we're behind it's a no brainer.
If we're a goal up, then hopefully Moyes has learned from WBA that we need another goal. No more Smalling for Rooney!
If we're well ahead and cruising, then it's the perfect time to give one of RVP and Rooney a rest, and give Hernandez the game time he deserves.
I really can't think of a bad situation to bring him on for the last 20.
Brilliant. Scores goals and creates space.
This cannot be said enough. Chicharito's movement, the way he runs back four's, goes into the channel and then darts to where there's space in the box to cause damage must shred the nerves of our opposition. Just having him on the pitch opens space in the other side's lines and he also defends from the front and works bloody hard. The team has an extra sense of dynamism when Hernandez is out there with the bit between his teeth. Just disappointed Javier couldn't get a hat-trick.
Last season, he was apparently had the best strike rate per time played in the PL.

I read somewhere he had the best goals per mins rate in the PL, ever. Quite likely as well, as he is every bit as good as Ole as a supersub but Ole played on the wing regularly for a couple of years.
I mentioned it in a thread I started on whether we were fixing the wrong problems. RvP and Rooney are better players individually but we distinctly lack Chicha's movement in that pair. The defences push up, the midfielders press us, and we have a couple of 9.5s and a whole other bunch of players working in feck all space.
