He's invaluable as an impact striker. Hope this means he'll get more playing time, and that we manage to keep him next summer.

He hasn't changed a bit since he came here as an unknown from Guadalajara. Still as humble as ever.

'Ive been going three years...for now...at this club...'

:(

Hopefully today leads to Moyes deciding to throw him on more against tiring defences. He really is just a brilliant option from the bench.

this. and even if we are leading, i would like to see more of hernandez-van persie-rooney all playing at the same time.

There's no fecking reason not to love this guy, I mean literally, love him. We should put every effort into keeping him, that's including imprisoning him somewhere.

Could definitely work with the way Rooney and Van Persie like to drop off and run the channels. He may not be Didier Drogba when it comes to hold up play but nobody works a back four like Javier Hernandez: The way he runs across the line forces defenders to keep looking over their shoulders opening up space for others to attack. I reckon that's one of the reasons that, arguably, both Van Persie and Rooney have looked better playing with Chicharito than with each other...

I'm going to say it, I think he's easily my favourite player we have at the club right now. His attitude is fantastic, you can see how happy he is even when someone else scores. When you need a goal too there are not many other players that you would bring on instead of him, he's just fantastic.

Hernandez and Rafael are probably the most naturally endearing players we have, the little scamps.

I've said before he should basically come on in pretty much every game (presuming he's not started)...

If we're behind it's a no brainer.

If we're a goal up, then hopefully Moyes has learned from WBA that we need another goal. No more Smalling for Rooney!

If we're well ahead and cruising, then it's the perfect time to give one of RVP and Rooney a rest, and give Hernandez the game time he deserves.

I really can't think of a bad situation to bring him on for the last 20.

And Chris Kamara again shows why 'Goals on Sunday' is superior to MOTD, highlighting how Hernandez's movement towards the near post and then sudden backwards dart as Evra hits the cross creates the space for him to score the winner. BBC Football really isn't in Sky Sports' league.

Brad Friedel said that too in Game of the Day thing

He was brilliant at the far post for the Rooney goal.. He is amazing

What was that challenge on Huth(?) like? Looked like a nothing challenge to me, but I was at the opposite said side of the ground... and just heard Hughes now saying he should have been off!?

Stoke put in some much worse challenges then that in my opinion...
I was shocked that people felt it needed to be talked about really. He went in to block the long boot up field like all players always do, ended up catching him a bit as Huth kicked the ball. It was hardly a yellow IMO. You see those fouls 3-4 times every game. Was even more shocked at Hughes saying he shouldn't have been on the pitch
If that's a red, then football really has become a no contact sport. 15-20 years ago that would have hardly been a foul.

This.

Last season, he was apparently had the best strike rate per time played in the PL.

He really is good enough to start. But with Rooney and RVP, it's always going to be hard.

I'd love it if he became the new Solskjær, and was "happy" to be a super sub. But really, he'd be the star striker of so many other decent clubs. It must be tempting for him to leave and see how good he can become as a striker. If he played week-in-week-out, I'm sure he'd be a contender for the top scorer title, no matter the league.

Brilliant. Scores goals and creates space.

This cannot be said enough. Chicharito's movement, the way he runs back four's, goes into the channel and then darts to where there's space in the box to cause damage must shred the nerves of our opposition. Just having him on the pitch opens space in the other side's lines and he also defends from the front and works bloody hard. The team has an extra sense of dynamism when Hernandez is out there with the bit between his teeth. Just disappointed Javier couldn't get a hat-trick.

100% agreed. Good post, mate!

Good all-round performance from him. Some excellent touches and link-up play. Much more confident in possession and better passing.

His confidence must be flying. A start next league game?

I read somewhere he had the best goals per mins rate in the PL, ever. Quite likely as well, as he is every bit as good as Ole as a supersub but Ole played on the wing regularly for a couple of years.

I mentioned it in a thread I started on whether we were fixing the wrong problems. RvP and Rooney are better players individually but we distinctly lack Chicha's movement in that pair. The defences push up, the midfielders press us, and we have a couple of 9.5s and a whole other bunch of players working in feck all space.

Talksport ~ The Premier League's best minutes-per-goal ratio - it's not RVP!

I reckon I saw Martin Tyler write a column saying something like that, don't quote me on it though, I'm not sure.

Spot on! Hernandez does so much without the ball that it's easy to miss. He should be playing more, no doubt.
