Talking to the BBC after the match SAF hinted that maybe he was not happy with the chances Henandez did not put away in the first half

One nutmeg? Is that all? His first touch does let him down in general play

I really didn't see that today, I can't remember a first touch that let him down.

A pass here or there let him down, not his touch. I don't know what games some of you are watching at times, it's as though you already have the "Hernandez has a poor first touch" programmed into your mind and can't get past that.

His touch is great sometimes but usually it's his distribution that's his main weakness. Finishing chances usually comes naturally to him, except for today. But he must work harder on his final ball so he can give others good service as well.

Now there's a post I can finally agree with.

Agree with that also.

Don't understand why critiquing Hernandez overall performances means people need to open their eyes. The guy is has made awesome contributions so far and what's more a genuinely good guy. That doesn't mean he is infallible and couldn't do more to contribute in games on the whole.

His passing and touch can leave a lot to be desired and him getting called for offside for situations he never should lead to a lot of plays being killed off. A good example was today when De Gea had ball in hand for a bit and cleared towards Chicha (around 54 min on the clock) and he got called offside for that. That just shouldn't happen.

Today was one of his most complete games I felt and yes he could improve upon the service he provides to others but, that fact that today he was in position to do that a lot more was a great thing.

Also, glad to see him take shot from outside the box, he's more than capable.

I think him getting called for offsides is one thing that definitely goes against him. The way he's going, he'll be doing more than just hugging on the shoulder of the last defender. I was thoroughly impressed by him today. In the big scheme of things in terms of scoring or great passes, he didn't have that.

However, paying attention to the subtleties, I think it's plain to see his game is coming along. You can call me a Chicha lover or whatever I dont care. I just think this kid could become a world class player or at least a very good one. It's exciting watching him develop. As long as he's here and getting a chance, I know that he will really shine in due time.

One thing I really liked that I hope he does more of is take on the defenders. He only really did it twice but it was cool to see a player who usually just passes the ball back to take on defenders let alone nutmeg a player. It just suggests there's more to come and that's very exciting.

BBC are saying SAF said its a torn ligament 3-4 weeks out.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirms that Javier Hernandez has "torn ligaments in his ankle" and will be out for "three to four weeks."

If that's what it turns out to be then we're pretty fortunate. Shame that it's over the busy Christmas period but we've got Rooney, Welbeck, Berbatov and Macheda as strikers and Giggs, Young and Nani who can play in behind.

He just wants to be back in Mexico for Christmas...

This may sound ridiculous, but if he is only out for 3-4 weeks then i'm over the moon.

His season could easily been over.

Initially thought he had broken something. Certainly looked that painful.

Fingers crossed for a quick return.

A torn ligament is not a 3-4 week lay off:confused: a Stretched ligament on the other hand is.Let's hope it's the latter

'Ligament damage' can cover a pretty wide range. A sprain is a pretty easy fix but torn ligaments mean potentially months out.

We're lucky Danny's back.

Let's just hope it's a strain and not a tear then.

Word on twitter is SAF has said 3-5 weeks. I think we've dodged a bullet, could have been a really serious injury, hopefully this time out will allow Javier a chance to recharge his batteries and get him back to his best.

More of a general comment but, I really wonder sometimes how much an injury really gives players a chance to recharge. Never have had to endure it but, from all the stories about the work one puts into rehab and the mental strains of not being able to play, having to work on your own instead along side your teammates doesn't seem very conducive to recharge.

I really do hope it's not something serious and it really is only 3-5 weeks. Quite often the timelines we hear these days aren't actually and players are out longer than first reported.

Well it depends on the injury but for the most part you're likely to be sat on your tod waiting for it to heal before you can do any rehab.
