The "peno's the reason we lost" is too simplistic, we invited pressure and Chelsea took over the game.

But the peno is the reason we lost! We didn't concede when they were pressing us, they got a penalty after we were attacking, and Cech (I think) started a quick counter on us. Luiz scored before Hernandez went off.

I was glad to see Berba come on towards the end though, as we needed him to hold the ball up, which is something Hernandez doesn't offer quite as well.

Did Berba do this? If so I don't recall it, the one real moment of class hold up play was followed by 3-4 touches too many and he got the ball robbed.

Not slagging him off mind, not an easy game to come into, but he certainly didn't do a better job of holding up the ball in his limited time than Hernandez.

No he didn't - there was one time he was in his customary get the ball and work his way out of trouble but, got the ball taken from him. He didn't really get many chances though to hold up the ball beyond that.

He didn't do a better job as it turned out because - as you say - it was a very high intensity game and he didn't really adjust to the pace of the game quick enough.

It was definitely a good substitution though. Hernandez looked knackered and Berbatov is usually better than him at making sure we hold onto possession. He just didn't really look it in the short time he was on last night.

Yeah I think the substitution had to be made, Hernandez looked shattered after that lung busting run to rob Drogba of the ball.

That's fecking hideous, and looks nothing like him.

That would be fine if they hadn't decided to give Hernandez Ronaldhinio teeth.

I don't think comedy masks are supposed to be an exact replica of the person they're portraying. I think that is kind of the 'idea' of them.

Yeah but you should still be able to work out who it is, if this wasn't in the Hernandez thread I wouldn't have a scooby!

This is a proper joke mask..

The scariest thing about that picture is that it has real uses underneath. Someone was clearly wearing it for the picture but the way all 'normality' has been edited out of it and being on an all white background, the human eyes behind the mask is far too creepy.

He's having quite the debut season.

And to think we bought him for a bag of KP Ready Salted. Good bit of business from United. Hope we can find another gem like Chica in the summer.

He can be a dirty little f***er when he wants to be though too. He isn't just a feather on the pitch. He gets stuck in, leaves his leg in, is aggressive on the ball...he's got his wits about him and can handle himself. It's what makes him 'work' in England I think, in addition to his other attributes.

Has the potential to score 40+ goals in one of the next seasons. Incredible combination of clever movement, pace, heading ability and poaching insticts.
