Could you hear the crazy Mexican contingent on the TV?

They pretty much achieved the impossible and livened up the South Stand with their squeals of "Chicharito"!

I walked home behind a few of them in their Chivas shirts and they were still at it then.

He makes the goal look so easy it's almost hard to get excited about them. And oh my god, what a start to his United career. He's already melted into the side.

He's got 16 goals already, not much of a prediction that ;)

I bet a lot of folk weren't saying that the start of the season. I can't remember how many I predicted he'd get, but I don't think I thought he'd get near the 20 mark.

Depending on how much Berbatov starts between now and the end of the season, maybe Chicharito could end up our top scorer (he's only 4 goals behind Berbatov now).

Did the body check on Heinze seem rather out of character for the lad? Yeah, Heinze made a bit much out of it, but Hernandez did get there late and slammed into him.

Just seems interesting that a rare moment like that from Hernandez would come against the traitor, of all people.

He doesnt like heinze very much

I dont think its out of his character on the pitch. He's shown plenty of fire so far, getting into a few scraps, getting booked plenty and in fact after the match the Marseille players were trying to rough him up with a few bumps. It could be that teams try to get him wound up in the future and see how he reacts.

Looked to me that he over-reacted to the first bump and then it kicked off a little. Probaly shows that he had been given a lot of stick off and on the ball during the match. Who scored two goals and won the match though?

Smashed Heinze in the World Cup too. Word is next he's planning to shit on Tevez's bedsheets.

By the by, he now has 16 goals in all competitions for us in 1744 mins - a goal every 109 mins. 5 openers, 5 winners and 1 equaliser. Sensación.

Was disgusted the way some of the Marseille players tried to wind him up after the final whistle. Thank goodness Chicharito had the brains to walk out all of that and let those twats go home out knowing they are out of the CL courtesy of his 2 goals

I am not afraid to admit I was wrong about Hernandez. Berbatov is a better player of course, but Hernandez suits the team so well. His movement is extraordinary. Rooney has been sublime playing off Hernandez. It is so fun to watch.

I hope he and Rooney start every game possible for the rest of the season.

Next season I am so excited to see Welbeck return. Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, and Berbatov is an incredible set of striking options. Of course Welbeck will also give us a great option as a wide player.

He's going to be a definite target for teams to go after physically, if he hasn't been already. His size will make them try to use that even more against him. But nothing will frustrate them more than if he gets up and walks away without even reacting.

I reckon it was a bit of Spanish handbags. They do both speak variations of the same language after all.

Although at the same time I also fantasized that Heinze told him to "stay at United as long as possible".

Add Macheda, Diouf and possibly King to step up.

Exciting times imo.

We just need a player to set up our fwds more. A player that has the penetration of Scholes.

just seen the highlights again, it seems a Marseille player took a sneaky swing at him just after the whistle by the corner flag. You can see his hip movement while he was looking at the ref so clearly knew the match was over. Chicharito was peeved obviously but Rooney pulled him away.
That bodyslam on Judas was class though!!! Would have been better if he had reacted like that bullied kid from the thread in General!!!
Anyone able to fix that video by the way?!!!

Honestly I think Hernandez is more of a younger non dodgy hamstrings version of Michael Owen rather than Solskjaer.

Owen was similarly always on the last defender and making intelligent runs with a burst of pace. Once he got in the box Owen was just as deadly. He'd go through some games not doing anything and yet pick up a goal or two simply by being alert in the final 3rd.

Ole I reckon had a lot more to his game. Very intelligent player which allowed him to play different roles for us. He had an incredible range of finishing too.

For me Hernandez is much more like Owen than Solskjaer.

Madrid will come in for him. It's like Santiago Nunez :nervous:

He just said he is at the best club in the world.

I don't think we should worry about him at least for 2 years.( yes I know 2 years is not long but footballers these days:rolleyes:)

Certainly, he reminds me so much of the young Owen it's uncanny.

The comparisons with Ole come from his youthful looks and his prowess from the bench, but in reality they are not very alike as players.

Indeed. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was much better on the ball.

It's not far off. Physically though OGS was a beast, tremendous strength. Wasn't his old man a Greco-Roman wrestler or something like that? You can see where he got his strength from. It's why he was better at holding the ball up

Mind you the fitness team are working hard to get Hernandez' strength up but we don't want that to negate one of his main attributes which is his speed of the mark.

Different player to both Owen or OGS but it's not hard to see why the comparisons are being drawn

"much" is a little harsh. Ole was quality on the ball though.
I meant in terms of ball control. Ole had top notch ball control and could also take on and bet opponents. That aspect so Javier Hernandez's game currently is still rather raw. But at 22, he will get better the way Andy Cole got so much better on the ball under SAF.

Ole was a strange one in terms of that. Looked like a reed but was very strong.

IMO it is bound to make him even quicker. For what he lacks is upper body strength.

If people never saw Ole play and only ever read the cafe opinions on him, I swear they'd think he was Romario. I love the guy, just saying.

Hernandez's fecking magic, he came from Mexico
And when he came to Wembley, he said 'I'll have a go'"
He kicked it with his foot - it bounced in off his head
His name is Chicharito, and he's a fecking red!

That's not half bad, that.

I really think he deserves a song already. First season and he's taking the PL and CL by storm and that's not an exaggeration at all. Great lad, unbelievably good find and brilliant signing (what a bargain!) and so likable as well. Will become a definite fan favourite if he keeps this up into his next seasons here and there's absolutely no reason why he won't.

Love him.

I just wish we'd stop throwing long balls at him. Recently we've had a tendency to just smash balls up the field 90% of the time and it not only ruins our play but it also doesn't do Javier much good even though he's got exceptional jumping power.

The long balls only works to his advantage when they're executed after we've unbalanced the opponent allowing Hernandez to run behind the defense. Just smacking it upfield from the defense results in us losing the ball almost every time. Very frustrating to watch.
