His dribbling ability is poor and he is not creative. I did see his run vs Liverpool, but he very awkward when dribbling.

His dribbling is decent and we've seen flashes of good dribbling ability. He's also shown flashes of great creativity, although tends to try and keep things simple as no doubt he's been encouraged to do that in his career until now.

Who cares if he is awkward when dribbling? All that matters is the end result. If he runs backwards and trips over, somehow landing on his feet and past a couple of defenders its the same result as a triple stepover and going in between two players.

I actually think his all round game is good, and will only improve as he integrates into the side.

I wish people would just ignore the attention seeking simpleton, it derails far too many threads.

No, no. Training is a total waste of time.

He can't be improved on.

I couldnt give 2 shits whether his "allround-game" is good enough or not, as long as this guy keeps scoring, especially in such important situations.

He is an out and out striker, there is no real need of him beeing "creative" or having outstanding allround-game skills.

He has pace, great positioning, has a good shot on him and is a natural finisher.
Couldnt ask for more for a striker tbh.
He is going to be class for us.

Why couldnt you have told Utd?

We could have just spent all our money on a load of new players! What muppetts we are building them awesome training facilities.

It's a certainty which is ignored throughout the footballing world, coaches are essentially pointless, humans are incapable of learning.

Could not agree more.

Hernandez's all-round game is much more polished than I thought it be, I have to say. I'd never have expected him to have as much influence in the build-up and composure in his passing that he showed against Wolves to turn the game for us. Inzaghi, Bent or Huntelaar couldn't do that. I don't even think Ruud could've.

And he's technically sound, there's no doubt about that. He's shown his willingness to involve himself in the build-up in numerous games and is an incisive (or positive) passer, whereas I was expecting someone a bit more one-dimensional with room to improve(given how strong that one dimension was - the goals - I didn't even think of it as a slight either!).

He has all the time to still improve his game attributes. And when he has done this, i actually expect him to be more of like Ruud than Solskjaer. I think he can dribble but he doesn't need to do this at United where we have people for that. Has the potential to be a complete striker rather than just a great poacher.

I really don't understand how anyone can pick flaws in a youngster, in his first season in a foreign league, playing as well and contributing as much as he has.

Be happy with what you've got, for once. Which is one of the brightest forward prospects in European football.

His "poor" and "awkward" dribbling against Liverpool referred to by Scholesy can be seen at 02:15 in this vide:

Flashes of his good passing/crossing can be seen since his pre-season games.

I love him already.

Will definitely visit OT within this year and buy a Hernandez shirt.

It is amusing that you live in Thailand and haven't invested $20 in a Chicharito shirt yet!

Never doubt the Cafs ability to make the most promising of young footballers look like a talentless hack

He doesn't need to be anything other than what he already is - a potent frontman who can play off the last line of defence and put them under real pressure

And he's only going to get better at it

I keep seeing this 'he's not ready to start yet' guff too. Yes he is, easily. But he's at United, and that means tough competition for places. Rest assured if he keeps banging them in and looking so dangerous, it won't be long til he's getting far more first team football

Are we pretty confident that he's gonna start today? If he replaces Rooney that's gonna send a big message. Perhaps another option is to rest BerbaGod for Villa. Or is it back to normal and he comes on for the last 20/25 mins again? Personally I'd like to see him start as he deserves a full game (could be the last chance for a while).

I think the big message is if Rooney starts today so Fergie can keep Hernandez fresh for Tuesday.

I'd stick Rooney up front with Own today.

That would be a very strong message you're right, but I dont think its one that has a possibility of happening. Instead I see Hernandez starting today, Rooney on Tuesday and it taking the rest of the season before Hernandez is being picked over Rooney or Berbatov.

I think the manager likes to show an incredible amount of faith in the players he sees as first choice and it takes a long time for someone else to get their nose in front. But if Rooney doesnt hit a goal streak and Hernandez keeps his current level, it'll happen eventually

That's what I'm hoping for personally. Give Hernandez a start and Rooney another chance to get his scoring touch back. See how they look as a partnership too. No disrespect to Owen, but he's the least suited of all our strikers to play alongside Hernandez, and they're never going to be our first choice partnership. I'd rather Hernandez gets his starts alongside Berbatov or Rooney, as realistically they're the ones he's going to end up playing with if he does become a regular.

The caf? It's a single person who denies his talent and ability. Pretty much everyone else loves ans rates him.

How much closer do you want it? :wenger:

Not everyone can dribble like Messi and Iniesta.

You don't have to keep it that close to your feet aslong as you know where the ball is to shield it away from the defender, it's about the end product, players like Kaka and even Ozil don't need to keep the ball so close aslong as they shield it from defenders, it's basically about end product and having different dribbling styles

Chicharito is not like Kaka or Ozil at all, both who keep the ball very close to their feet. He is a poacher style of player and his dribbling skills are awkward and mediocre.

Lovely finish, the one chance he had in the game and he finished it beautifully.
