Mexicutioner is Manny Pacquiao's nickname as he beat all of Mexico's biggest boxers: Barrera, Morales, Marquez and De La Hoya

I didn't know that at the time!

I know a few of his nicknames but was unaware he had that too.

Now a question.
If you are Hernandez's agent, what would be your advise to him this coming summer? Manchester United might have started him on something small(wages) so that needs to go up considerably.
I hope he has a calm agent.

There was a lot of reports in March that United had opened talks on a new improved contract which they expected to sign before the end of the season. Widely reported that he is on £40K a week at present. Think the board must be considering doubling that figure now. Absolute bargain.

Never doubt the Cafs ability to make the most promising of young footballers look like a talentless hack

He doesn't need to be anything other than what he already is - a potent frontman who can play off the last line of defence and put them under real pressure

And he's only going to get better at it

I keep seeing this 'he's not ready to start yet' guff too. Yes he is, easily. But he's at United, and that means tough competition for places. Rest assured if he keeps banging them in and looking so dangerous, it won't be long til he's getting far more first team football

This was a few months back. I hope those claiming he wasn't ready to start yet have re-assessed. Surely if following this club teaches you anything, it's that if you're good enough you're old enough

Well the boss said it himself they didn't think he'd be playing from the start. In the early days he was still struggling with his touch and hold up play, so wasn't ready back then to be a starter. He's grown into it. You think if the boss back then didn't think he was ready to start, he would have been starting?

His opinion was not too different to the ones expressed here (and I fall into this category) where he wasn't ready to be starter, he's gone beyond expectations through his work and ability to work his way into the starting up line up. That doesn't mean that people didn't have good reasons to say a few months back he isn't ready yet.

Pele's thoughts:

“There is no doubt that Hernandez is a promising player. He is excellent,” said Pele.

“I have seen some games of his on television and he is a fantastic footballer.

“He could be the next Messi because he has great talent; he is a big surprise just as Hugo Sanchez was because he is another that scores a lot of goals.”

Never mind Messi, I wonder if he rates him as highly as Nicky Butt?

Manchester United will offer Javier Hernandez new double-your-money deal worth £50k per week following his amazing debut season. - News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

United to double Hernandez's wages

Javier Hernandez will be offered a double-your-money new deal by Manchester United following his amazing debut season.

The Mexican has been a revelation, scoring 20 goals and playing a key role in helping Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to the Champions League final and the brink of a record 19th domestic league title.

Nicknamed Chicharito – ‘The Little Pea’ – Hernandez was snapped up for £7million from Chivas Guadalajara on a four-year deal worth around £25,000-a-week.

Just 22, he was expected to spend his first season settling in, contributing mainly from the bench, with a view to realising his potential over time.

Instead, Hernandez struck up a deadly strike partnership with Wayne Rooney, boosting his transfer value to £35m-plus.

Now he can expect his salary to jump to around £50,000-a-week, with additional incentive-based bonuses also written into the new agreement.

Hernandez scored the opening goal - after just 36 seconds - in United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea last week and is expected to start the Champions League final against Barcelona on May 28.

United team-mate Ryan Giggs said: “To score 20 goals in his first season is unbelievable.

"You always have a chance when you have a goalscorer like Javier in the team. He’s made a fantastic impact on and off the pitch.”

Good if true.

A great quality of this club has always been to up players wages if they've made valuable contributions, always treating them well.

Holy shit that is something....but credit to the girl, being brave enough to make that shit available for the world to see

Who is this Erick Torres the one YouTube comment mentioned...anyone see him play before (for real)?

Yeah, I have. He's a kid with very good movement, barely 18 years old but doing good this season for Chivas. I still haven't decided yet if he is the next Chicharito or the next Arellano (a good striker for them that doesn't really have what it takes to move on, but decent for the league and good for his team).

The comparisons with Chicharito are mainly coming because of this kind of angel he has and because of his movement, although I don't think he is as intelligent as Chicharito, but he is only 18 years old. He's got a long way to go and a big room for improvement.

Now, the thing is that the Mexican press and especially chivas fans are over-rating him and that could add some pressure to him. Mexicans, we tend to do that (I myself prefer not to). So even if you can trust that he is a good promising player, most people are already talking about his breakthrough in a big team.

My, how I love Hernandez. The whole Rooney saga taught a lot of us harsh lessons to not harbor attachments towards footballers given we know such little about them. But it is really hard not to purely because of how attached you are to the club itself and how much you invest your emotions into everything Manchester United related. Although things like that help one be prepared for players' whims and fancies and look at things from the club's perspective.

Having said that, I do find myself quite fond of Chicharito. He's just the kind of player every fan loves. And you can quite easily tell that he's given our whole squad a big lift with his exuberance, attitude and indeed ability.

Signing of the season.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if he hasn't signed the mooted new contract by early June, the press will be linking him to every half decent club under the sun and they'll be shoving microphones under him about moving on all throughout Copa America and Gold Cup

They already have, according to some of the rags Madrid, Barca and Valencia are sniffing.

Marca and AS needs to sell papers during the summer, I expect a dozen Hernandez and Nani to Real stories from them.

Chico will play for United next season. After that? Been said a million times but, "Only God knows"...

He strikes me as someone who loves being here and loves working with Fergie and wants to repay the faith SAF showed in him to bring him here. I know most footballers are as loyal as a stray cat but this kid is different, I see him here for a long, long time to come.

Yep. The only future problem I see is when Sir Alex retires - then Javier might be tempted to move.
