 thats a great pic

I still can't get over how Solskjaer-like he is... and he looks like he might trump him, even.

No mean feat :|

My first comment was a bit mindless, I'll admit that. Should've phrased it a bit better/smarter.

I was just wondering if there had been new quotes from Chicharito since the thread had two pages more since I checked in last, and it turns out to be a discussion about religion and whether one can improve his technique. Who'd have thought it, eh?

 Sorry about that.

Nobody knew at the start of the season, he was going to be so good. FIFA 12 will definitely have ratings maybe in the higher 80's.

But he was 79 at the start, then they brought him down to 77 for no apparent reason! At that rate, he will be 73 and worse than Ngog in FIFA 12.

Now a question.
If you are Hernandez's agent, what would be your advise to him this coming summer? Manchester United might have started him on something small(wages) so that needs to go up considerably.
I hope he has a calm agent.

If I was his agent I would ask for a new contract and put him on £90K a week.

No idea who his agent actually is, but googling "Javier Hernandez Agent" only really comes up with reports that his agent didn't even know about this deal until it was done. So, I don't think he actually has that much influence.

I think he should be around 89. I don't know about Fifa but in PES, his shot accuracy should definitely be in the mid 90's. His shot technique should be in the low 90's and his heading ability should be in the high 80's.

I got this link from a newbie who wanted me to post this here:

Pele: Manchester United's Chicharito Hernandez could be the new Lionel Messi - Goal.com

Brazilian legend Pele has heaped praise on Manchester United's Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez, arguing that the Mexico striker could reach the same heights achieved by Argentine maestro Lionel Messi in world football.

The young goal-machine has been in fantastic form in Manchester since moving from Chivas in 2010, scoring 20 times in 42 appearances as the club have gone top of the Premier League and reached the final of the Champions League. Pele had kind words for the 22-year-old, and saw great things in his future.

"There is no doubt that Hernandez is a promising player. He is excellent, I have seen some games of his on television and he is a fantastic footballer," the three-time World Cup winner told reporters at a press conference held Monday afternoon.

"He could be the next Messi because he has great talent; he is a big surprise just as Hugo Sanchez was because he is another that scores a lot of goals.

"We should wait a little, because we still don't know how he will play in the Mexican team... but without doubt, he has huge potential."

Messi also found himself in Pele's spotlight, but the Brazilian had rather less complimentary words for the Barcelona star and fellow protagonist in the Champions League final.

"There is a big difference between Barcelona's Messi and Argentina's Messi. When Messi plays in the Seleccion he is not the same player," he concluded, firing an early shot in the old rivalry as Argentina and Brazil prepare to play the Copa America in July.

Messi and Chicharito will meet in Wembley on May 28 for the Champions League final, in a repeat of 2009's contest in Rome which was won by Barcelona.

Pele is clueless. Messi and Chicharito are different players ...

Did you just read the title and decide what the article was by yourself?

Pele is not comparing Hernandez and Messi in terms of where they play or how they play.

I love that we finally have another 6 yard poacher after years without one.

He's just mint. Has the football brain of a 30 year old and the body of a 20 year old.

We saw on Saturday how defenders panic when he's making runs off their shoulders. Not sure whether to push up or track him, causing confussion and in process making tons of space for players in behind him, including Rooney who for the first time has a partner who let's him play his favourite position of second striker.

He just adds a completely different dynamic to the team when he plays. It's a dynamic that brings out the best of several other players around him.

...and to think we got him for peanuts.

Fergie still thinks he can get much better too. If he improves his hold up play, which let's face it, is one of those things can be learned (unlike being a poacher which is instinctual) he's surely become one of our greats.

14LEGEND or Third King of the Stretford End?

Could take either title IMHO.

Chico has surprised me. For one so young and new to the country he has already proved himself for me. He reminds me so much of Denis Law it's scary. I have the same feeling about him as I had with Ronnie when he began. A giant star in the making. Soon to be TBPITW. Long may he continue. And keep praying boy. It's working!

He is a very good player. His off the ball movement is so crucial in creating space for others and dragging central defenders out wide. His move for the header he missed and Valencia's cross was almost telepathic.

Kudos to SAF for recognizing that we needed another type of striker to change our style of play rather than spending a whole lot of money on another midfielder. Ever since he and Rooney have formed their partnership we've looked as fluid as ever in attack.

Could be become the best striker in the world? or is that as laughable?

Is there a more dangerous striker around right now anyway?

Next season will be a big season for him. If he can do equal or better in his second season then the sky is the limit as far as I am concerned.

The biggest disgrace is that he's only rated 77 on FIFA 11. What is the world coming to?

At least FIFA 11 has Hernandez in the game. I own a copy of FIFA 10 and I had to create Hernandez as a player. (Accuracy and pace = 99)

He was in FIFA 09, so surprised he wasn't in FIFA 10. Think his overall rating was around 59 though...

At the start of the season he had a 79. During the season they did the squad updates and put him down 2 points to 77

Clearly unimpressed by his lacklustre first season

Hernandez is nothing like Messi, fecking hell.

If referring to Pele's comments then probably refers to his goal scoring ability. He could end up being a prolific scorer both at club and International level if he continues to work on his game.

He still has awkward moments such as the fluffed left footer setup by Giggs but, can only imagine that next season he will get better. It's too bad he isn't going to get a pre-season with the team and even work in the offseason to work on his strength/muscle some more so less likely to get nudged off the ball.
