I'd prefer if we don't get him.
I've pretty much seen all Ajax matches this season. I agree wit everything you just wrote. He's very composed and does not feel the pressure at all. Having said that, he's just not United quality (yet, if ever). He makes some silly errors, can't save a penalty if the fate of the entire universe depended on it and is not that quick to come off his line, which seems quite important in our style of playing now. So I'd say no to him.I'm not sure, I haven't seen every Ajax match this season. I think he's a good keeper, but he's 26 and has been benched alot of seasons. He's not fazed by pressure at all, which is good, but he's prone to some silly errors. Going by what he said I think he wants to stay for his development, I don't think he's better than Valdes right now and not as talented as other young goalkeepers. Hoek/LvG might see more in him, but I haven't seen enough and I doubt it.
Agreed. It could actually work very well. But still I believe that there are some great young foreign keeper talents we could buy instead. This makes sense.
We wont spend more money on Lloris then we would recieve for De Gea. Just wouldn't seem right. We have Valdes who is proven at this level and deserves a chance in the first team to prove that we don't need to spend big on another keeper.
Cillessen would provide very good back up next season and push Valdes for a starting spot. If at the end of next season niether of them have impressed then buy a new keeper then when Valdes's contract expire.
20m odd for a backup? I know we are rich but come on...
This makes sense.

I think because of some telegraph tweet. What have I missed? Why do people think we're signing him?
Seeing the reaction here I thought it was solid information. In any case, don't want him. And actually don't believe this rumour.I think because of some telegraph tweet.
Always the way, tweets are taken as gospel if they're bad news.Seeing the reaction here I thought it was solid information. In any case, don't want him. And actually don't believe this rumour.
Looks ever increasingly like this could be our number 2 to Valdes.
Only played 100 senior club games
Here's a YouTube comp of last season's better saves.
This makes sense.

If we decide to go with Valdes next season, which, for now, I can't see us doing, it'd make no sense to spend significant money on a back-up. Lindegaard's more than capable of filling that role, has a year left on his contract and seems perfectly happy to stay. Furthermore, we wouldn't be left with two goalies completely unfamiliar with the league.
Why can't we just get Leno or Cech instead? I don't understand this club sometimes, we often don't seem to show any interest in obvious choices.
Im just wondering how many of you have seen him play reguraly when claiming he is a sack of shite.
I'd say it's perfectly fair to judge him on his WC performances and CL performances - as they're the biggest games (by far) that he's taken part in.
In that case he has been very good during the world cup and mostly good in the CL.
No he wasn't.
He wasn't? Can you expend on that?
