Januzaj | Confirmed: On Loan at Dortmund

Doesnt he play through the middle? guess it is between him and kagawa

On Paper Mkhitaryan is playing on the left, Kagawa in the middle and Reus on the right. But the three of them play very fluid, Reus and Mkhitaryan especially.

Think this is a "panic buy" attempt from Dortmund more than anything.Won't happen.

Don't think so. German media (including the very reliable Kicker, if I'm not mistaken) first reported about Dortmund's interest a couple of days ago.

Considering we are already light up front, in what world does it make sense to ship off two more attackers (Januzaj and Hernandez)?! Surely it means we have 2-3 players coming in... In addition to that Martial lad.

If not... This is about to be a very long season.

Wont play a lot there, maybe on the right? Thats the only position i could see him nailing down a starting spot.

He won't even be a first teamer there. 1 bench to another. Not much sense in this tbh.

Dortmund have sold Kampl and don't have that much depth on the wings, especially with a lot of Europa League games coming up. He'd compete with Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus, Hofmann, Blaszczykowski and Großkreutz. He could easily be first choice for their bench and get enough games there.

I can only see this happening with another player coming in on top of Martial.

Well Dortmund sold Kampl a few days ago and it looks like Kuba will be leaving too and Ramos is another candidate, so they are under a certain amount of pressure to sign some players for their bench.

Castro and Hofmann seem left for the offensive positions.

Surprised if this happens. Hopefully he has a good season. Wish this loan happened a season or two ago.

I'm aware. That's what I said, one bench to another. He was a back up here and will be a back up there. We aren't really loaded with wingers either for him not to get games.

This story is like the Everton loan deal. Why will we send him to Dortmund, if we won't send him to Everton - a team in the same league, and with lesser competition in the attacking third? I don't believe this.

Shit move if it's true. We're light in front as it is and would he even be a started for BVB?

Don't get this. He isn't likely to start and were already light up front?

Which is why I wrote, I can only see this happening with someone else coming in, who should be better than Januzaj currently is. I am not exactly thrilled by this, but Dortmund with Tuchel as their coach wouldn't be the worst move for all parties.

a) because Dortmund's (new) style is a lot closer to van Gaal's than Everton's
b) because van Gaal want's to sell him (buy option) and Dortmund can pay more
c) because a couple of signings for his position are done now and it doesn't look like he will play a lot at United
d) because Dortmund is more attractive to the player than Everton

It's a great move guys. We sell him, and Herrera, also maybe Mata. Get Martial, who will light up the Prem, since he has a cool name, to play up top, while Rooney plays 10, outperforming the likes of David Silva. We'll also buy whoever it was who played right wing for Van Gaal back in his AZ days (essential because this guy knows the philosophy). That's our attack sorted.

What bench? The philosophy shall not need a bench!

What about Braafheid and Pranjic?

WTF!? We're already short and we're losing Januzaj and Hernandez too?

You know this how? If van Gaal wanted to sell him, he wouldn't have started games this season and would be gone by now.

I don't know anything for certain, I'm just offering possible reasons why a rejected loan to Everton does not have to mean that a loan to Dortmund won't happen.

Oh yes, it's a great setup for him. Just wish it was a team where he'd be a starter and not 2nd choice.

Apologies, misunderstood the context.

So we lack attacking pace already and now we let another one go while we bring in another kid. Makes no sense.
It makes sense more than the loan to Sunderland that was being talked about. He's not going to start ahead of Herrera or Martial so what's the point in warming the bench when he can learn in an attacking side like BD

If we've had assurances that he'll be a key part or their team then it's a really good move. A team that plays a good style in a good squad and getting more minutes than he would here which will speed up his stalling development.

If he doesn't play often it's a terrible decision.

Btw, I'll be quite surprised if Dortmund are doing this without a fee agreed for the future. At the same time, I'll be shocked if we agree to a fee so there you go.

I won't believe this until it happens, we're not going to loan him to another teams bench where he can't learn the great philosophy.

I can believe LvG doesn't see him as his type of player.

Let him go on loan ok i can live with it as long as we bring more players in. If we let him go on a permanent deal ill be furious hes obviously a talented player and unless the fee is 20m plus wed be stupid.

The club was categorical in denying the Everton rumours. If they were interested in sending him out, the denial would have been much more circumspect. If its a loan (which is what the media are saying), then the motivation/ attraction for the player is to be a better fit for Utd next season - not how attractive the other team is. A passing focussed team in the same league >>> a passing focussed team in a different league, from that point of view.

If we sell Januzaj, one of our most talented youngsters, Van Gaal can go ahead and feck right off. We don't need him by any means and he's as disposable as any of our current players. And yes I do appreciate the irony in my post.

Hope he gets enough minutes there, seems a good loan if we can bring in another winger/forward.

"Medizincheck" is (half-)German for medical btw. Don't know why they didn't translate that

Kuba and Großkreutz had zero minutes this season tough.

It is probably just a loan. Calm down
