January Transfer Window

@JanAageFjortoft

What all my sources tell me in Germany /other countries:Manchester United are working very hard to get players. Now and summer! #MUFC #big

No shit Sherlock, it's fairly obvious by the time Moyes has spent in Germany.

No need for an ITK to tell you that, Moyes himself has said it. :)

@JanAageFjortoft My sources tell me God is working very hard to make it dark at night and light during the day.

Just one more midfielder. Any midfielder either with a very good engine or who is talented on the ball. Would make our job in the summer much easier.

So are we expecting us to be busy in the final week of the transfer window? Another scramble for one or two top players perhaps?

I hope we do something, but less scrambling about hopefully. If we manage to bring in a quality LB i'd be made up.If we sign one of our reported midfield targets then i'd be seriously chuffed. If we pulled both of those off then the the summer will be less stressy than predicted but it's unlikely.I still think one more could happen but not sure who or what position.

Am I the only one craving another transfer?

The Mata transfer was incredible. It started with giddy disbelief at the transfer being possible; then excitement as the realisation that it really could happen dawned on us; then tension with the posturing from both sides and then relief as Mata arrived in a bloody helicopter!

I need Moyes and Woody to drop the Vidal bomb. I need another hit!

He was left out of the squad in the last game though, because he didn't train well. He could be pissed about Lewandowski coming in and might make a fuss because Guardiola already prefers Götze or Müller as the striker. Out of all the rumours about Bayern players leaving (Dante, Kroos), it's the one that I wouldn't rule out.

Not that it makes a lot of sense for United, that's a different story.

It definitely makes sense for in the summer, he's the kind of player with qualities you'd expect Moyes to like more than most people (Good in the air, fairly physical, works a bit for the team) Think its most likely to be as a replacement for Hernandez or Rooney with Mata making up the other half of things we'd miss. Wouldnt be at all exciting or flamboyant, but I don't think its in Moyes nature to go for many of those players

Swansea have signed David Ngog from Bolton for an undiscoled fee.

Why have Swansea signed David Ngog from Bolton?

Has there been any confirmation regarding the Shaw bid? It was suggested the bid was actually submitted weeks ago and that Southampton have yet to respond?

One for the "Cobblers" file?

It's all a little exciting at the moment, isn't it? And this is even with the likelihood that we won't sign anyone else this month, things just seem to be building up to the summer.

Has Shaw actually impressed anybody here? cant say ive seen much of him, is he just another over hyped (and over priced) young englishman?

I never, ever, ever listen to players agents.

In fact, if a players agent claims we are looking at him, you can be damn sure that we are in fact definitely not looking at him. We have a very strict non-disclosure policy with any agent and player that we are seriously looking at.

Looking at the original Marca article, neither Marca nor the agent mentioned United. The agent was asked in Italy about interest from Florentino (where a couple of other Villareal player moved to last year) and he said there hadn't been an official approach as yet, but that they like the manager and the club.

So, in other words, it's on :D
And he is a good centre back.

Moyes: "I am disappointed we are not in a much stronger position. I am disappointed with how we have played.
'I, ultimately, take the rap for that. But what I will do is make it right. I am going to get better players in. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be more in January. But it will change.
I have given every player the opportunity to play and show what they can do. We have had a pretty good chance to have a look at it. The players have to perform. If they want to be here and making sure they have a jersey, they have to show it in the games. Undoubtedly, this club wants to be at the top. We want to be challenging. At this moment in time we have failed to do that. We want to do something about it."

great stuff from Moyes. Some players really have let the fans, the club and themselves down and it's time to do something about it.

Did he actually say that? Brilliant. feck off all the shite, Moyes. :D

He's given them all a chance and there would have been uproar if there'd been wholesale sackings when he joined. But he can now be justified in chopping the shite ones.

he s still got a lot of abuse for giving them a chance, but i think that was the right way to do it.

Yep he's done it right, gave them all a chance to prove themselves and a lot have let themselves down and should be shown the door. I bet he can't wait to get to the summer to get stuck into sorting things.

Yeah defo not gonna be any more signings in january but the Mata one was a big surprise and a huge boost for the club...still pants in midfield and defense but seems like Moyes will sort it all out in the summer

So do other clubs with semi-decent players. United with a big sack of cash walking around buying players to replace the deadwood? Oooooh it's gonna be like Christmas coming in the middle of summer.

I agree too. He'd have been accused of culling a squad which one the league at a canter. Now that everyone knows which players stands where, he'll have it easier.

Meant to be a good programme coming up now on SS1 about how transfers work behind the scenes.

Edit: Scratch that, it involves Niall Quinn. As you were.

I think only the Shaw deal could still happen. Can't see us doing anything involving a foreign club now.

If we do anything it might be tomorrow. There will be a lot of focus on OT tomorrow providing plenty of distraction for the media so Woody and co can go about bringing in another new face.Wishful thinking perhaps!
