January Transfer Window

I don't think we'll approach Southampton for Shaw this coming January.I would like us to bid for him in the summer. We need someone who will make an impact so Coentrao would be the best option for the LB position.

The missing link in the midfield makes my head hurt and yet I hope the club have someone in mind. The list of goal getting, dynamic and inventive midfielders that are available or could be made available is short and so we are going to have part with some serious cash.Sooner or later we will have to pay way over the odds and the longer we leave it the more we will get fleeced. We should take Arsenals lead and go in with a respectable bid like they did with Ozil and bag the player.Let's please not be so public this time and speak privately with potential sellers and i know Gundogan is not available but every player has his price and so sound them out and make them think twice.I would still like to see us bring in the young lad from Derby if we can get our hands on a ready to go, top class CM and of course Gundogan would not be able to play in the CL but he will next season. He may though make sure the title remains with us which should be our priority!

Other than that no more incomers required.Anderson should be sold really because he has nothing to offer and he needs a new club.Buttner is another.Likeable lad but not good enough and Young should still bring in a few quid.Newcastle would give us £10 million I am sure.

Would love it but it's not going to happen.

I remember saying this over the summer and a few posters actually said he was a waste and not worth it. Nonsense.

Total nonsense. He'd be the perfect player for us.

Yup, I do wish we got him at the time, it's a shame, he'd suit us far better than Barca. Though he does look like he's finally adapting to how they play.

Which in a way is a shame as it takes a lot out of his cavalier style of play.

So now is the time the express think we're going to go for him, just when he's really found his feet and a manager who's bringing the best out of him. Smashing.

Apparently the manager of fleetwood town is a player he managed at Preston, so he could have just been invited over without necessarily being on a scouting mission.

Could well be,but according to reports he was interested in him when at Everton.

The Alexis Sanchez rumour seems a very strange one to start at this juncture, even for stupid journo types.

Khedira anyone?

Had a bit of an outburst yesterday about being a scapegoat at Madrid.
If his last claim about us bidding for him on deadline day are correct, might Moyes look to go in again in January now that he seems unsettled or are people happy with Fellaini?

Khedira was just talking about the Spanish media, he also said that he didn't care about it that much and that Ancelotti really rates him and gives him the feeling that he's an important part of the team. He explained his new role in the team, the differences to Mourinho's system. It didn't sound at all like he was unsettled, quite the opposite actually.

Yeah, it was mostly aimed at the Spanish press but it seems Madrid would have sold him in the summer. I only saw the quotes here: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/15/sami-khedira-scapegoat-real-madrid-mourinho
I wonder how much his game time will suffer with Alonso returning from injury?

Seen a few reports on the net that our scout will be at the Chile game as well as Sanchez he's checking out Nicolas Castillo

Who's he? I'm sure he scored a belter last time i seen Chile play.

Didn't know where else to put this.
"Nothing is impossible and there is a lot of time between now and then, Falcao is a great player and I am aware that he wants to play for (Real) Madrid. I am aware of that, but it's normal. They told me."
Regarding Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who was strongly linked with Real in the summer, Perez said: "Again, he is a great player, but we can't sign everyone."

Sheer arrogance, although it is not misplaced when players are lining up to sign for them.

Well let them sign. They can sign the world but won't win the league more than once or twice as long as Messi is playing!

maybe the Bale transfer will work out, but it could easily become the worst piece of business in football history. Tick tock for Perez...

The way they talk down to all the clubs is a bit too much. Can't he just say that he won't talk about players playing for other clubs. Also, he makes it sound like they would be doing the players a favor by moving for them.

Our last bid was supposedly around €40m, if we have to pay anywhere near that much we're just getting ripped off on yet another cm who won't bring what we need. Khedira instead of Fellaini would have been fine but both of them? Please no.

You can't spend €40m on Khedira. I like him as a player but that's crazy money for a player that's not at the top level.

That link says Sneijder is on 50k a week.

Wasn't it about 4x that amount he was after a couple of years ago!

Just get me Barkely, Will Hughes and Luke Shaw in january and some unheard of monster central defender from Austria and I will start believing again

Right now we probably look the least attractive as we ever have in the past right years as a option for top players.

We will have to overpay to get a top player, both in fee and wages. It costs a fortune to sign a top player as there is so much money in football now. Prices arrant inflated, they are a reflection of market forces that are my going away any time soon.

It wouldn't hurt to bring in three top youngsters who would hopefully play an important part in our future and contribute to the present.I would prefer an established CM to arrive in January but those three would make me happy.
